I enjoyed it. I think I've emotionally melded with Park Ji Hoon since Weak Hero. When his character is happy, I'm smiling. When his character is sad, I'm crying. When he's anxious, so am I. So I might not be the best person to rate the series.
If I ever meet him on the street, I'm just going to shout "Private Kang Seong Jae!" and stand at attention. Its etched in my mind.
The game took every reward he had ever earned from him, except it couldn't take away the people he had collected in his card deck. And their support was enough to swim him through. I'm not crying...you're crying. I'm not crying!
That said, I really don't have a desire to see season 2. They wrapped up everything that needed to be said about this character by the end. He came in to the army depressed and needing to process his grief and find a place in the world. He's done mourning now. He has a purpose. That's really enough for me. Season 2 can't go back to that well and since he's already beat the cook at the officer's mess hall, and has won every battle with the help of the game, what's the point? He needs a new personal obstacle, preferably an emotional one, since casting Park Ji Hoon when there are no emotional stakes would seem to be a waste of his talent.
It was nice I guess that he "got a girl", but he didn't earn her, never really pursued her at all, so that fell a bit flat for me. Since there was never any real doubt that she was waiting around for him, it didn't take a lot of effort. Meh...whatever.
Since I don't think they'll be able to reassemble this cast, I think I'll just take a pass on wishing for more.
The actor, Toptap, really has the Boss aura. I wonder if there will be some loveline between Sky and the photographer.
"I wonder if there will be some loveline between Sky and the photographer."
Maybe someone else we haven't met yet. But Boss who plays the photographer would be stoned to death by fans for "cheating on Nouel" if he had any kind of love storyline here.
this was the first episode that made me hungry. I guess there are four or five stars above my head. lol. but boy, do I want some beef tartare on crispy lotus root right now.
They didn't know each other in ep 1. Like they knew OF each other (Dao knew Arthit more than the other way around…
Yeah. That was my impression too. Dao is a bit of a homebody and the friends primarily meet with him when they are in the art club. I think a few times when he agrees to go out with them, they mention that its unusual for him.
Has anyone considered that in spite of Bank/Sunny basically Sun is still responsible for his little brother’s…
IDK, man. If the little brother wasn't killed, Bank is still worth getting vengeance on for stealing 200,000 baht from Sun that was meant for his mother's medical bills. Sure, sure, that dirty money was good for Bank when he could get some of that for acting lessons. He was even willing to get smoochy with Sun without Sun taking a shower after he got that 10,000 baht for acting lessons. But five years later to be bragging about how you bested your dumb wanna be thug boyfriend (who was an actual THUG!) is still revenge worthy.
The one person who made out like a bandit from this entire sordid affair was Bank, who is now a star. Sun blames himself for the Karma that's accrued. But in Sun's mind, Bank doesn't deserve to profit from it.
Honestly, a happy ending at this point would be Gaysorn and Tawan bonding and falling in love while they’re chopping up everyone at the perfume company to feed to koi.
I swear, the actor who plays the skateboarding friend was in another BL. he looks so familiar. but isn’t listed in the credits. where have I seen him before?
Why tf is everyone saying Puifai is the killer?? Did she stage her own death or what? That seems really unnecessary
I mean, being dead has advantages such as no one looking for you as a murder suspect. On the other hand, being convincingly dead with any amount of conviction for several years is hard work. She's like 22 and not really thinking about the long term consequences of remaining dead.
Thailand is probably the only country in the world where you can beat up a policeman and not get arrested. Apparently. I wouldn't actually recommend trying test that as Thai jails are also rather notoriously bad places to spend your time.
I'm sure that the fans will be back, but honestly, I wish they wouldn't have them around. I know they are supposed to be annoying, clumsy, clueless, stupid and insufferable...I get it. We all hate fans. But between the 14 year old screeching horny girl in the troupe and the Beans, too much time is given to people I'd like to fast forward through. Their only purpose is to make fans feel good about themselves ... "Sure, I may be stalking my bias, and left a death threat on the instagram page of someone who is rumored to be dating him, but at least I'm not completely stupid like these people"
Do fans ever get tired of being mocked this way?
I hope too that next episode that we at least get to see some of the Likay live performance. So far, this is like one of those Sports BLs where they never actually are seen playing the sport.
I can't stand him with his tantrums. He's a useless brat who even needs someone to put the toothpaste on his toothbrush.🙄
But he’s Tong Tong, so we love it when Chet loses his temper and goes to the Sauna to cool down. Heck, if this series were just Chet in the Sauna, I might still watch.
I’m probably the only one confused by the half nude bunny boy. Is he a ghost? A house spirit? Why can the security guard see him? If he’s not a spirit, why is he walking around in a bunny mask?
I don't what people are expecting from the series to give 7.9 ratings that too after only 1st ep. For me 1st ep…
It will go up eventually if they keep up the quality. There is a lot of ill will for the production company unrelated to this series in some sectional of the fandom, and they are being rated on that.
I'm rewatching the trailers on this one and I'm trying to stop myself from getting my hopes up too much. This could be a masterpiece that presents a sweeping epic of the student movement in Thailand in the 1970s and how some gay men were caught up in those events. Or it could be a typical BL where all that stuff is just there to put people in hippie costumes while they run through every standard BL trope in the book without any perspective on how the broader events are having an impact on their lives.
At the very least, its his actual hair and we don't have to risk another Thai wig fiasco!
This series reminded of, IDK, the third season of the Umbrella Academy where about 2 episodes in I became tired of the inability of the team members to get their acts together season after season that I was hoping that the universe would actually come to an end.
I know its probably unfair to compare this to a US super hero series, but come on. I'm not the one who gave all these characters special powers. But I really came to loathe these characters and how selfish they all were. Like imagine if Spiderman decided he wanted to go back to being a normal teenager and even though the Green Goblin had come back to life and was blowing up New York willy nilly, he decided to continue with that plan anyway rather than use his powers to try to save the city. Or Batman uncovering everything that Lex Luthor is up to only to find that Superman has decided to work with Luthor because Superman was too chicken to visit a podiatrist to treat a bunion . That's what we're dealing with here, week after week.
I guess you could kind of cover up that kind of thing by having more sex, but it seemed like halfway through, everyone stopped having sex. So in the second half, the sexiest thing we have is Kenta getting sliced by a knife revealing his remarkable body.
I'm guessing they decided 1/2 way through this thing that they can milk a season 3, so they
