Was a bit worried because it was Mame that it would have been revealed that Pai had raped Sky their first night and was stalking him. But that wasn't the case in the series at least. Otherwise I'd be out. Was also nice for a change that booze wasn't involved in the one night stand, either. Sky had his wits about him. Was it coercive? Maybe, but come on. Its not like the bouncers followed them back to the apartment and were waiting outside to beat Sky up if he refused to have sex.
Was also glad that Sky's "ex" is a male so this isn't going to be another series where a formerly straight guy goes through a conversion experience a by having sex. We already had that with Rain and Storm, and don't need couple 2 to just be a repeat of that plot.
Episode 1: -Well given that all ghosts operate under different rules, we needed to stop and explain the merit points. I guess a ghost cannot accrue merit. It gets subtracted whenever you do something, go or bad. I can't believe they were not allowed to pass on just because they were all worried about picking up Kevin. There's got to be something else keeping them around. They can't just be there to help him become a famous social influencer. Since they can be seen by Pluem, they must be there to help him, too. -Thought Kevin was rude to Pluem, who he had just met. Why did he think he could just start cracking jokes at his expense? That said, I'm fine with a couple whose dynamic is to mildly insult and tease each other. At least both leads aren't shy. -Younger brother may not have a romantic partner this series, but he's got that BL look. -Got the ghost rules. Met all the characters. Learned a little about amulets. Started the clock ticking (down). Episode 1 checklist complete. Hopefully in ep 2 we'll have some goals for the lead beyond "making a live stream."
Different actorshttps://mydramalist.com/731171-in-a-relationship
Thanks. I know Tod from Love Area. Boy looks very familiar to me, but I guess it is his debut. I'm just running through my head with "where did I see him before". Once you've watched thousands of hours of Thai BL, the actors and stories start to blend together.
Were Tod and Boy in a miniseries together this Summer? A Gameboys knock off where the big issue was that Tod wasn't removing the filter from his nose? Its not showing up in their credits. But I swear I watched something along those lines. It was like one of those series where each episode was 3 minutes long.
I agree. For me, Korn's styling vacillated between Pinocchio and an organ grinder's monkey. But, when I thought…
Yeah. It was strange that he never had any non-cosplay costumes to put on. Like when he was at home, he would slip out of that nonsense and into something less audacious. But then his character was one that wanted the onscreen and public parts of BL to be real in his real life.
Ep 10 -I'm trying to remember which IRL scandal involved a manager or a producer running off to Korea. It did happen. Like they couldn't pay the prod team to continue and were caught flying first class to Seoul for a "recruiting" trip. Looking for new talent. Uh huh. Uh huh. Looking more like you absconded with the petty cash box. -Didn't like the resolution. Everyone was a bastard to Bew and they were like "What right did you have to ruin our lives." Of course, its Thailand, so apparently fake moms need to be forgiven. It seemed to turn into a Sunday School lesson with a moral at the end about the importance of forgiving family, even manufactured family. Felt tonally wrong. Its O.K. if after all that, they just all agreed never to see each other again. Bew isn't a 10 year old kid. -Apparently, airport security is a lot more lax in Thailand than in the US or anyplace else I've travelled in the past 20 years. I guess fan clubs are allowed beyond the gate. -I wonder when he gets home if he has a pair a sweats and some t-shirts to wear. Something a bit more practical for the provinces.
I completely disagree. I think Ping is a better an actor than Meen. Are you sure the imbalance isn't really that…
I don't know. I'm just relieved that there's a time limit. They needed to slow it down because I think its an BL rule that if they have sex early, getting together needs to be delayed. Its another story where the straight uke gets converted because he likes having anal sex. Usually when the leads have drunken sex this early, nothing happens for ten episodes. This is more like TharnType where Tharn ends up agreeing to have sex with Type for a month to "Cure himself of homophobia" rather than "Fuse and Tee have sex and Tee feels badly that he might have raped Fuse and Fuse can't decide what to do about his obviously cheating girlfriend so they just hang out and do nothing to build their relationship for a season and a half." MIR may be more realistic, but TharnType is more fun to tune into each week.
I completely disagree. I think Ping is a better an actor than Meen. Are you sure the imbalance isn't really that…
Its possible. I wasn't thinking of the crying in the cafeteria, since the character is obviously trying to get sympathy from a group of friends who like to make jokes at each other's expense, so it was meant to be dramatic and fake. (Plus he didn't really like that girl). It could just be that the space for immature acting ukes is full at the moment, with My Only 12%, Amagikun, and Love In the Air currently in there. (Dude, just clip the damn duck onto your book bag. It doesn't even have keys). I do find them both stiff when it comes to body language. Ping's delivery reminds of of Dunk and I'm not certain what's supposed to be behind any of it.
I found myself bored enough to search for how long a horse could live without water. If Snow White was in that barn a week and no one was bringing her water, she'd be dead. At the very least when Khim finally realized the horse was there, she'd be in extreme distress.
They just bought that property with plans to develop it. In three months someone would be there to check on it.
So the magic of the comet is what's going to bring his memory back, isn't it. And a kiss from Sun, who will waken Snow Khim from his slumber. Or maybe the doctor is going to poison one of sun's apples and he'll be awoken by a kiss. I was thinking of using the word aroused instead of awoken, but that doesn't make sense. There is very little chance of Sun becoming aroused by anything Khim does in this bromance.
On the plus side, for about 2 minutes this episode, Fluke had relatively decent hair. Like Khim being away made him forget to go to the barber (if he goes to a barber and doesn't cut it himself) so it grew out 3 centimeters. Alas, he went back to the bad cut in the next scene.
Has no one in this series ever watched a lakhorn? The villainess is telegraphing everything she does. She speaks her plans aloud. Has anyone thought of bugging her office and phone? What good is it having billions if you can't find a wiretapper. Or bribe her servants to wear a bug.
At this point, the goons in the woods should just call it quits and make her wait the 18 months left before Rain is declared dead. You know, if they wanted, they could fly Khim to the US or Japan for surgery and he'd be fairly safe. Pretty much any regional medical center would have a surgeon who could perform the operation. Just put him on a bus. While it may be brain surgery, its not rocket science these days.
I agree - it's like it's trying anything and everything to not be a BL.But what do you mean by Addicted? They…
In the novel, after their relationship was discovered, the Step dad forced them apart. One boy became a reporter. The other was forced to join the army. We didn't get that far as the series was cancelled about 2 episodes before that would have happened.
Episode 2 The good: -I'm shallow. i want to rub oil over Meen's chest. Sue me. The chest alone makes him an upgrade over Toptap. (Kidding. I love Mr. Jirakit). -I'm glad they made up. I was hoping they would just start dating as I'm not in a mood for 8 episodes of the straight uke confusedly wandering about rejecting the advances of the seme. At least he admitted he enjoyed the sex. I can deal with a 1 month trial. But I hope a month = ends next episode. A BL fan can dream, right? We could get on with them dating for a change? -Yeah, he got bad advice from searching the internet, but at least he searched the internet. It's become one of my peeves that the ukes in their infinite confusion never search the magic tubes for answers like 99% of university students would. The answer of "you might be a woman" or whatever that was was a bit dated, and probably isn't the third thing that would pop up these days, but LOL...when I came out one of my friends sincerely and with great concerned asked me if I felt like I was a woman inside, so that idea would be out there.
The Meh -I don't hate it, but Meen is a much better actor than Ping, and that imbalance is going to be a problem. Fortunately, Meen isn't playing the "quiet, reserved, introverted lonely boy Seme" so he might be able to compensate somewhat. I do feel like they wanted to have Plan play that role and he wasn't available.
Yeah, I know people are thinking that Mol won, but honestly, the choices Wang had at the end were going back home or running away. Inn never actually agreed to let him live there, and making In change to be the lover Wang wanted would have involved a lot more fights like the one they had. He wants to drag In out of that cave and he's not going. Its not like Wang could just move in where he was only somewhat wanted.
Pond was so unhinged I was worried for In's safety. Like the big plot twist was going to be Wang carving up In and Mol and making chicken and ham satay with them. I haven't been this distraught during a fight since Gameboys. I hope they had lozenges and ginger tea on set for Pond that day as that can't be easy on the throat.
I guess I could handle a sequel, but it couldn't be this Socratic dialog. I'd want a standard series format focusing on Wang and what happened to him. And I wouldn't want to have Inn in it. I don't care about him any longer. But man, I'll be curious to see if Wang can ever break free from Mol and how she'll react when he's gone for good. Warning to any future boyfriends for Wang....do not be eager to meet his mom. Do not ever say "why don't we invite your mom over for dinner" Boy needs a man without back problems, for he comes with ample baggage,
The ending was just as I expected! I think the reality of all of this was that the only one who truly won and…
Yeah. It was heartbreaking to have her jabbering on about sunglasses as if nothing had happened the night before, unconnected with him emotionally in his reflections. Nothing had changed. That said, he is narrating from the future. How he never saw Inn again or visited him. When he left In that globe, he was basically giving up being fixated on what he thought he father wanted for him, and his obsessive mourning, and letting his dead father determine what his goals and desires are going to be. He may not yet be free from his mom, but he's telling this story to someone. Has he been talking to us this whole time? Or has he met someone who wants to know these things about him? I'd like to think its a new friend or maybe a lover he's opening up to, that he isn't just stuck in Bangkok with his mom.
vegas is one of my least favorite characters but he spent his whole life being BUILT for this but kinn's lil boyfriend…
Porche seems like the kind of boss who'd go "all this crime is so complicated. How do I keep track of it all? Why are there no records. I think I'll write it down on post-it notes that say things like "Wednesday - be at the dock to receive ketamine shipment." "Thursday - remember to kill that detective who is being too nosy."
O.K. Final thoughts 1) At some point I'm going to just need someone to spell out the idea of Boyfriend and what it means in Thai. Once again, we have an emotional meeting where they promise never to be separated again, followed by a roll in the hay, and the very next morning, Talay is again shy about any advances Puen makes. And then in the monumental press conference, Puen will not say that Talay is his boyfriend. This has happened 4 times now in the series where I think "finally they are together" and it turns out they are not together...yet. 2) Thought it was better than Enchante, Star & Sky and the other GMM BL since Bad Buddy. But still, is lacking something. In this case, it was marketed as a BL Romance+Sci Fi series, but there wasn't much emphasis on the fantastical elements of exploring the new universe. There was a lot of attention paid to setting up intrusive product placements, though. The time spent on product placements could have been spent, IDK, explaining what happened between Tess and Tun. 3) I should be happy that BL is so big now that a GMM series has a half dozen sponsors and the companies lining up for placement are large global corporations. But I'm starting to miss having Oishi Trendy Rolls and a rando tattoo removal clinic being the sole major sponsors. 4) That said, it looked good. It just could have had more sustained conflicts than "Talay doesn't like Puen's corny courting tactics so we have to wait 12 episodes for them to maybe be boyfriends."
