Ummm. Why just this week in my own country we discovered, thanks to the Minnesota Supreme Court, that 24 states still have an intoxication exemption on their books that need to be rewritten. Looking at Taiwan, the last article I found (2011) indicates that it uses a "use of force" standard for rape, so issues like consent have to be demonstrated by signs of physical force (if there are no witnesses). Anyway, rape laws in general suck. This series could of course call that out and be a bit more challenging to the audience (and there are some rich veins to be mined in this very odd family situation), but I think it intends to be "isn't it funny the way people sexually harass and even rape each other on the way to finding true love" BL that's been done before and is way out of sync with the times. Its not that the series isn't "woke". It just isn't very humane to its characters hoping that we'll be indifferent to them, too, to get a few laughs.

While I can't agree for rooting for the step-brothers, I can agree with you on Muren's robe and slippers. I thought "Bette Davis wore it better."

Not to get all technical legal here, but since Xing Si was seen willingly drinking the alcohol and in fact got behind the bar to mix a drink himself, what happened next would not meet the legal requirements necessary for a conviction for using mood altering substances to commit rape in many jurisdictions. Now, if Yong Jie had put some additional substances in the drink, that would be a different story. Not that it matters. For all intents and purposes, "literary alcohol" served its purpose of serving up a sexy scene to fans who might have been bored of the series. See lots of photo stills and video captures of the sexy time scene on social media without any context that it is a rape scene. And that is, of course, what really matters now, isn't it? (snark)

Director: ok. What happens in ep 3?
Writer: he takes his brother to a resort, gets him drunk on cocktails, carries him to his room and rapes him.
Director: Perfecto! But wait. No one is going to believe that a 20 year old knows how to mix cocktails.
Writers: umm. Let’s say he was in mixology club in high school. Lots of high schools have clubs that promote underaged drinking these days. Maybe.
Director: Perfecto! Makes sense to me. Now about the mother. You’re telling me she’s originally against her son's plan to court his step brother, but comes around. What changes her mind?
Writer: her son has saved his allowance and has money in the bank.
Director: Perfecto! Wait. I don't know if interfans will be convinced by that explanation.
Writer: Well, they can ask their Chinese friends about it.
Director: So you want a bunch of people to ask their Chinese friends if its o.k. to start having sex with your step brother in Taiwan as long as you have money in the bank? Won't that be, you know, a bit awkward?
Writer: Yes. For everyone involved in that conversation.
Director: Perfecto!

Yes. Not only does the CEO of this company aid his employees in trying to trick a new hire into dating, he's apparently got a handsy gay Executive VP on staff, who uses the rumor that two other Directors are dating as an excuse to get handsy. The sexually harassing nature of the VP being well known around the office, yet the CEO does nothing. HMMMMM. The employee comments and ratings section of the MUSE Weddings Indeed.com profile must be quite a thing to read.

"(two stars) - Pays well enough for me to wear fashionable clothing, but stay out of the bathrooms."
"(one star) - New employees who are good looking seem to get promoted very easily."
"(one star) - Wouldn't recommend the place. Employees allowed to sleep at desks. Most hope that managers never call them into their offices for special counselling sessions."

Instead, it managed to transfer the ire of the fans onto the writer and director. LOL.

Hopefully the issue with Chol and the photographer is over. Glad he was clear, although a bit concerned what he would have said if his heart wasn’t already taken. Maping, however...who knows what he’ll do.

IDK. I find Aey's jeans to be a bit frumpy, too. Dresses like a dad. Maybe that's why the other characters avoid him.

I should have been clearer. My guess is that he’s a family friend, but for all we know, he could be a relative, since BL likes that thing. I was just speculating on the step brother thing.

Childhood friend, or because its BL, he could be a step brother (Aey accuses him of always wanting to be a part of the family). Because step brother lovers and BL go together like icing on cake. Exactly what happened isn't 100% clear, but from what Aey implied, Mork betrayed Aey's secret relationship to his sister, probably because he wanted them to break up so he could have Aey for himself. (I think his kiss was sincere).

It’s a nice change from the standard BL, where we know from ep 1 who is paired. Yeah, it probably wasn’t intentional, but it makes Cupid Coach a little unique with this twist.

It's also possible that they spent the night playing patty cake. Although I'm assuming that they had sex because Kai was trying to avoid being seen by his mom. She's never forbidden him to get friendly with Andre before, so its not like he's breaking any rules by being in his room. But he's sure acting like rules were broken.

He probably is aware and I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s why hes aware that he likes men in the first place.

Not sure that combing one comedy storyline with one dramatic storyline is going to work for me. It’s going to take some effort to make Songjae likeable enough after this episode to care if he’s paired. I guess pair him with Muren, have the CEO end up with the middle aged fujoshi, and the young fujoshi remain single and thwarted in her desires to ship anyone. The office oaf can be, idk, transferred to America at the last minute. Or hit by a car as he goes to get salt. Where’s my screenwriting fee?

“So the photographer is going around the world photographing boys swim teams?” I thought. “Pretty suspicious to focus on that one aspect of student life.” (Watches ep 8 teaser). “Egads, are there any men in this show who aren’t hitting on the students at this school!”

That said, Prab and Chen’s smiles when the AC broke again were adorable.

Woke up this morning and realized that Gene might still say "No" to Sib and have him move out. Darnit, why can't it be Wednesday already.

Yeah. They made several trips to the loo in ep. 1. Was hoping they got it out of their system. Hopefully we’re done with it. Thais just find pooping funny. Don’t know why, wish it weren’t so, but into each comedy, poop will eventually come.

The broadcast version is apparently 40 minutes, so you’re most likely watching the full version. To be fair, they did open this ep. 4 with Gene cleansing his mouth. Yeah, it was toothpaste and not soap, but as a bit of symbolic punishment for using harsh words, he had to swallow toothpaste,

Agree with her to a point, but I think she may be a little ahead of the story on Gene. I’m not sure that we know enough about Gene to say that Sib is his first love. But he’s got enough going on in his character that he might be. Or might not be. Gene is definitely a virgin, but can’t say for sure if he’s never been in love before. We’ll find out soon enough. He’s not a closed book, but if he doesn’t squeal by ep 7, I’ll go rip him from my TV set and interrogate him myself.
