tan jianci said he used zhou xun's "xiao wei" from Painted Skin as inspiration for xiang liu and it finally clicked for me why I liked the character so much. he's a really talented actor

totally agree...as someone who never cared for SHK as an actor she needs to get her props here. she delivered her role perfectly and it's probably her best performance to date. i hope this is the beginning of more versatile roles and performances for her
