what if that seller never told officer gu about his wife exact whereabouts he just said she was sold off to please barbarians and they just cut it off there where he punched him and went back I think maybe that seller got offended and said some lies like she is being captive or sold off to somewhere where officer couldnt go personally or for that long so instead he came back to fill his royal duties and money which is why he said to yeonjun that he asked to people to look for her there looks like he never gave up but thought its same she get found by her or by someone who he hired , which is obviously wrong but this could be something there which will be revealed later in the eps the possibility of him getting to know about her and going back to get and gc realizing that the seller also told her lie of him abandoning her
