I was scared to watch the last episode due to all the hate here on the comment section. But after watching it, I didn't find it all that bad really. The ending made sense. Throughout the series, I had Hyun Woo at the back of mind and I would've found it a pity if the drama never really came back on his unfair "death".

But I do feel that some commenters/viewers here will define manipulative and toxic behavior or redefine it as you say, ambitious, depending on what role they play in the story and whether they like the character. So, no, as I see it not everybody knows here what toxic behavior is.

Honestly, I feel for neither FLs. Also, let me make it clear that my comments aren't triggered by ppl saying Hyun min's a good person (as I've yet to read such a comment) — rather, I'm pointing out her behavior for what it is. With this I give credit to the scriptwriter and the actress who portrays her — from her first scene in this drama I was instantly repulsed. I probably met too many of such people in real life and seen them up close, too close for my liking. So whatever sexual tensions there was supposed to be on certain scenes, completely failed on me. Perhaps I'm too old or too realistic for this kind of romantic set-up, or I'm just big on healthy relationships, but those scenes just left me cold. Actually, what I often thought was, could you marry off your son/grandson worse than this? Don't these men just dread marrying this kind of woman?
In real life, these women are very capable in the business world, I'll admit to that. But they're also one of the worse people you can be related to. Toxic behavior absolutely doesn't limit itself only to the workplace. And even if your environment causes you to behave like an a$$, you're still no less than an a$$ for doing so.
Nevertheless, I agree that Hyun Min makes the story interesting, as repulsive as I find her.

Just my two cents here... But I feel the way you portray her — badass because she has to, which makes her mysterious and intriguing — is a person that can only exist in fiction. I watch her and examples of people immediately come to mind who threaten and treat their subordinates like they're not humans worthy of respect because they can, because they're powerful, because they're desperate, etc... and always treat their family a lot, lot worse. Please keep in mind that what we see on kdramas — red flag behavior portrayed as sexy, mysterious, intriguing — only bring about tragic results in real life.

Doesn't every country do that, though? The majority of dramas and movies misrepresent other countries and cultures in some way or another. But calling this serie a rascist drama is a little farfetched. I honestly already forgot which country that was in ep 1 until you mentioned it. For me it was what happened to Do Jun in that place that was important to the story and not which country it was.

The plot is nice, but Do Jun's not my cup of tea. For me, his personality was nothing short of a loser. His investment plans were good, but that's kinda all I could give credit to in the novel.
