This drama was the rare perfect length to tell the story properly.
Had it been longer, not only would they have drawn out each dramatic scenario which arose, stalling their resolution, but they would have likely made the standard mistake of messing up the overall pacing.
They'd likely make the drama full of angst, taking away one of the best aspects of this drama - that each situation which arose was promptly, fairly and efficiently resolved very quickly before moving on to the next. Nothing was unnecessarily drawn out (especially by using bad/lazy writing to do so).
Then, somehow, they would have rushed the ending. If you've watched enough Chinese dramas you know what I mean.
There's so many ways this could have become terrible. It's so refreshing that they got it right. Sticking to the short length was the key I believe. Well done.
The fearless FL and super-supportive and sharp CEO ML were such a pleasure to watch.
I'm sorry but how, HOW did the actress who played Li Weiwei (the one who stole the FL's fiance' in the beginning) get hired for an acting job? That's got to be all about her connections. We can't even say she's an idol who should just stay away from acting. Or is she? Maybe I just don't know anything about her.
Like HOW did she get hired?
Her acting is so bad it's its own line of comedy. Her husband (the FL's ex) and his mother are bad too but for some reason I think I've seen him elsewhere and he wasn't as bad as he was in this...I think...I may be confusing him with another actor and/or his acting may have been bad but didn't especially stand out as such.
It's my 2nd time watching this and I just had to pause midway to come here to comment about that actress because I'm legit baffled by the fact that she got hired to act this role...or any role.
Isn't it funny how people's tastes differ? I watched Love Me in Three Days as well but I definitely preferred…
LOL! I take that last part back. Literally 30 more seconds of watching the episode I'm currently on and he kisses her and makes it clear that he's serious about wanting to be with her. He still doesn't tell her about their childhood connection - which I still don't get; in reality, when you meet someone you knew when you were young it's more natural to reminisce that not so I totally don't get why dramas are forever written this way - but at least she can't pretend to be unaware of his sincerity anymore.
I wish we could see more cdramas with a FL who reacts, fights back and doesn't accept being treated like a doormat.…
This is one of the most gratifying and satisfying FL characters I've ever watched. Seriously. The fact that they maintain that aspect of her character through to the end of the drama (if I'm remembering this correctly - it's been a couple of months since I watched this) is also phenomenal. All too often we get a strong FL at the start but they almost always end up making the character become more docile by the end or when they fall in love. I seem to remember that not being the case here.
Why are you spreading rumours like this? Did Xu Kai personally tell you he wants to reconcile with Bailu? Huanyu…
Gotta admit you have good reason for calling this out. This is stated on here like it's factual. Of course, the way it's worded, only a clueless preteen should believe but there are more than enough of those on here. It's crazy how in this day and age people still don't understand how easily rumors get started and spread. This seems like such an innocent comment and post but seen by the wrong person/people, could have been turned into something massive for the actor.
Kudos to you.
Be more more conscious and responsible please people!
It was fine for something short to watch when you aren't sure what to go with next (but I preferred Love Me In…
Isn't it funny how people's tastes differ? I watched Love Me in Three Days as well but I definitely preferred this one between the two dramas. Enemies to lovers and love triangles are two of my least liked tropes so for me Love Me in Three Days was actually pretty difficult to get through BUT managed both tropes pretty well so I did end up liking it overall. But I definitely preferred this drama more.
I'm watching this one again now to see if I still like it as much the second time around. The acting of the secondary characters still cracks me up.
One thing I'm finding is that I do wish the ML would have just been straight up and told the FL about their childhood connection and why he'd been so willing to help her from the onset though. That's the only thing that really makes this a tad frustrating to watch in the early episodes, as you see how resistant the FL is to his advances (or attempts at advances since he doesn't even really get that far). If they'd gone more with an angle of her having just been badly burned in her last relationship so she wasn't interested in even considering another guy yet, it would feel less stressful to me that the route they did take of her not taking him seriously or not even really catching on to his sincerity.
OMG the acting is soooo crappy but the writing so far is soooo fun! LOL! I'm only just about to start ep 3 now…
I finished this 2 months ago and cannot believe I'm already considering watching it again already. It doesn't happen. I don't rewatch dramas again that are still pretty fresh in my mind despite liking them a lot. But this one...I need some bad-assery right about now and from what I remember this fits the bill.
Absolutely. Next time, I see a child who draws something I don't like, I will tell him that I hope nobody will…
I knew it was sarcasm but then it seemed like the other person might not have been sure so I thought, you know, I probably shouldn't assume either since I've seen some of the most outlandish comments on the planet EVER on here. LOL!
Thanks for breaking down your impression of the drama. Truly. Trying to get the gist of it to see if it might be something worth watching, by going through the comments on here hasn't been very helpful. I like when people explain what it is they liked or disliked and WHY. That's what actually helps.
I can't believe I actually finished this. I didn't hate it per se. It was just hella frustrating to watch because of the writing. It just wasn't my cup of tea in many ways.
He created a bunch of replicas to be organ donors for Xixi. I kinda scrubbed a lot so not sure if I missed the…
I just finished it. The final episode was just a waste of time for me.
But anyway, they weren't actually twins. AY is his real daughter. XiXi is her clone. The first successful clone they made but their tags got switched at birth. I'm glad they at least said they were able to identify the close because of her incomplete DNA strands (which would happen when you copy DNA), because that was at least scientific.
You're right that the father didn't care even after he found out that AY was his real, biological daughter and that XiXi was her clone. He still wanted to kill AY to save XiXi since she's the one he knew and loved all along. He was just purely psychotic by that point.
I watched this on YouTube and the subber didn't bother translating the summary of what happened to everyone involved (before the 2 year time jump) so I'm disappointed that I don't have that information, but I see that the father died in prison 2 years later.
This just all around wasn't as good as Mysterious Love, for me. It was just too messy and the writing was too sloppy and ridiculous in many aspects. I'm not even referring to the bad science, I just blew that off eventually. The cast and production team and everything else was great. Only the writing ruined it for me; the way the story and the romances unfolded was just all a mess. It was a very frustrating viewing experience for me.
It's been a while since I last watched so if I say anything inaccurate hopefully someone else will correct me.…
That's IT! That's exactly it! When you said it was her I remember thinking that girl had been really reserved and indrawn and had to go and look it up to make sure had really been her. All I think of when I think of her is that absolutely adorable smile that lights up her entire face with those cute sparkling eyes and that bubbly personality. That's wild!
EXACTLY! They forced her to be with the guy who we normally wouldn't actually want her to end up with in any other…
That's literally the only way I've been able to continue watching.
I've really enjoyed pretty much everything else about the drama, for the most part. The acting has been really good I must say, the OST is nice, the production quality and stunts and visual effects have all been great.
The writing has been my issue. The entire secondary love line is a complete fail for me. But I also think the development and revelation of the main storyline is happening too slowly AND I also don't like that there's so much interference in the progression of the romance between the leads. Their feelings were there early, yes, but then too many things kept happening which kept delaying them from finally really opening up and committing to one another and being together. Then as soon as that happens we have the FL's alt running her own interference (*smh*). It's annoying.
I did finally make it all the way to ep 12 though. Feels like it's a darn miracle after the internal battle it's been to push through to this far.
MLs are awesome chemestry.... Good story with good acting... I just feel 2nd paired up is awful and forceful...…
EXACTLY! They forced her to be with the guy who we normally wouldn't actually want her to end up with in any other drama! He's literally everything that usually turns us off of SML's! I'm having such a hard time watching this knowing that they're trying to get us to accept her not ending up with the guy she actually liked and who liked her back. Instead they're forcing him to back down and forcing us to accept that she ends up with this guy who's decided he's the one for her whether she likes it or not. She's even rejected him, multiple times already, yet I'm supposed to accept him eventually getting together with her in the end? I'm having a difficult time even continuing to watch this. I keep getting ready to drop it because that aspect of the story is completely against everything I stand for but then they'll suck me back in with the storyline between the leads.
I'm on ep 8 now and I want to see what happens with the leads but I'm pretty sure I'm about to drop this.
It's been a while since I last watched so if I say anything inaccurate hopefully someone else will correct me.…
I actually remember enjoying that one too, overall. It definitely is slower and more mellow in general, but still enjoyable.
I totally didn't realize she was in that one! LOL! I think when I watched it I wasn't familiar with her yet, at least not to the point of recognizing her. I can't believe i never realized it in all the time that's passed since though. That's funny!
Sounds like it's time for me to watch that one again. It's been years.

Oh really? I was just throwing that out there. Purely coincidental. I hadn't kept up to speed on any news about her. Well, dang. That's crazy! But it would explain why she might have looked rough.
