this drama is a little better than a 7.9 but not more than a 8.5. i was forcing myself to watch this when i got to the episodes in the middle because it just felt like there was something missing. The mystery needed more thrill and i think they could've shortened this drama to only 12-14 eps.
I don't think polygamy is cheating. Having feelings for multiple people is fine and natural. But I do think this particular case WAS cheating. Misaki didn't consent to an open relationship or to her husband having a boyfriend and she only allows it to happen once she believes it will stop her husband from doing something terrible to himself. How is that kind of relationship okay? How can shuhei sit here and honestly believe that he is just a misunderstood polyamorous man in this situation? I think the flashback to shuhei in high school sets the tone for his whole character. He doesn't suppress himself even at the expense of someone else's right to consent or not consent. He doesn't suppress himself even if it means he could be hurting someone. Also off topic but does anyone else find it silly that all Shuhei needs to do is grab Yuki's face and then Yuki will drop all his inhibitions . It doesn't matter what kind of conversation Yuki needs to have with shuhei, shuhei doesnt care and knows exactly what to do to make it stop
I'm a little miffed how Dong Jin's innocence in all of this hasn't been explained to FL family even when they…
Well they actually do know he's innocent. Woo Joo already told them about how heeja's son apologized and tried to make things right and get their house back. It's just that in Korea, you are your family. You'll notice in kdramas that a murderer's son or an adulterer's child will get condemned for no reason at all other than being family to a guilty person. Of course they know it's not Dong Jin's fault, but they aren't able to get over how he's related to someone so terrible. Family is very important in Korea and it's also why Dong jin can't even cut off his mom after all she's done. Unfair and nonsensical to us but that's the way it is
One thing about the sister kept bothering me and I finally figured it out. She was diagnosed with a panic disorder…
Exactly this. If at least one person can understand woo Joo, it should be hye seong. She knows all too well about falling in love with the wrong person and doing something her family wouldn't be proud of. Up until this point I could at least understand hye seong but the hypocrisy is sad. Why would she inflict what gave her trauma on her sister?
My issue with hye seong is not her telling the truth to the family, going off on woojoo nor deciding they'll move. My issue is that woo Joo has always been the backbone of the family, yet after just one "mistake", hye seong thinks it's her place to chastise woo Joo and take the role of deciding what's best for the family. This whole time, I've been able to understand hye seong and not view her with contempt for her behavior, but the fact that she only now decides to be the big sister she admits she hasn't been irks me. Hye seong wants sympathy for making the mistake of falling in love with a taken man and for dating shitty people back to back, but when woo Joo falls in love with the wrong person after having the most depressing and stressful life, shes a stupid, irresponsible traitor. Its ok if no one in woo joos family can understand her. Thats fair. But how can no one else at least cut her some slack.
this is probably my favorite drama from this year so far. It is a 9/10 for me entirely because of how entertained I was. Dramas are supposed to be entertaining and have the ability to captivate the viewer and that's exactly what it did for me. I just can't rate this lower over silly plot holes and less than perfect explanations of the story.
Such a dangerous thing to comment on this site cause there will always be at least three people to tell you to…
No I completely get it!! You're literally me. I'd rather ask for a little info before wasting time "trying a drama for myself" if it turns out to be bad but every time I've ever done it I always get a reply like "everyone is different so just watch it" or a reply basically dumbing down the synopsis as if asking someone for their opinion means you're too dumb to realize that not everyone feels the same (and therefore you are too dumb to read the synopsis)
in regards to whether you should pick this up: I've only watched an episode but it's really silly. the female lead is very unbelievable as a doctor and like others have said, she's naive, ditzy and obnoxious.. So basically every bad FL personality trait that kdramas have been trying to retire for years. Im Soo Hyang also doesn't seem to fit this role but from what I can, tell none of this dramas issues are from acting. Ofc the FL isn't the whole entire drama, but in the one episode I watched, she was too much. Other people also mentioned how the story progression isn't that good. In my opinion I wouldn't watch it. It's not absolute trash from what I can tell, but I think you can do without this drama.
this is a drama I've contemplated watching since October. I'm too scared to pick up a daily drama and I'm seeing many people starting to drop it in the episodes nearing the 90th episode mark... I honestly applaud all of you for even being able to make it that far
Such a dangerous thing to comment on this site cause there will always be at least three people to tell you to just watch it for yourself and at least one of those people to be really passive aggressive about it ðŸ˜
