About the number of times he tried, was talked about in the movie, when the girls were gossiping it in cafeteria during lunch time .
But what you said about "plot doesnt speak for everyone , especially if someone doesnt deal with depression or loneliness " I might slightly have a different stance
The movie or drama if effectively told and acted well , it can, have and will evoke the emotions in the audience , even the ones they have never experienced before. make them take the shape of the vessel like a water or a clay
One doesnt had to have personal loss to sob inconsolably for a character in a screen , feel the love portrayed in the screen , experience the horror , thriller shown on screen.
All it takes is a good drama , which is what i felt missing here.

Thank you Frosty for taking time in explaining , I can get the full picture and somewhat get the gist of it as you described , but i couldnt connect with how they portrayed and behaved, wasnt able to resonate . The yellow hair guy who is super friendly , cool headed, able to make good judgements to salvage situation and insightful , had passion for music , had friends , with all this , he was having conversation what i infer to be a mother figure , then the next scene he was lying the ground , that so unable to relate . FL able to stood up for herself by telling the other Jealous girl that "she was nothing special " when she was forcing a lipstick on her. Thats out of character. ML demise is only seem to be forced script to elicit melodrama . Felt like it was extremely slow when needed to pick pace and jumped jarringly to these unable to connect with scenes.
Anyways, i will go find some melodrama and have good ugly cry this weekend.
Was kinda okay till midway , then couldnt understand why they separated and why the other friend tried to commit himself off , how did the ML disappear? could be partially because i fast-forwarding most scenes . Anyway lost interest after midpoint .
Nothing new that we haven't seen before. i wasnt able to feel the characters chemistry and the climax reveal didnt hit me as they intended to evoke the emotion . Felt bland and mediocre . Same trope used in countless movies and dramas had broke me to inconsolable tears and sobbing , but this one didnt. 6.5/10
I think you will relate more if you are a woman who consumes luxury goods or have been tempted by them. Not saying…
I think its universal and doesnt confined to gender , A drive to fit-in among the class of what perceived to be elite or buy branded items to step into a persona and have others to name you as the one who buy and wear luxury items etc; But it is also gender agnostic to feel the emotion and empathetic towards the Leads when there is strong backstory or screenplay to convince the audience that their actions are justified and we can resonate with , despite the theme , or even if the lead is morally grey . Though most wont admit , there is a man in a women and a women in a man.
Superficial story , drawn out to 8 episodes , one may not be related by most people. It had descend into convoluted towards the end and characters motives and behavioral change and interaction is not fully flushed out , it had to get convinced by the actions they take. Apart from some fantastic poignant and deeply philosophical lines which echoes as life lessons here and there like the lines from the novel, i finished thinking , what i am even gained from spending all this time where i couldnt even relate with FL and root for her ?? Although i do not regret watching this , i certainly feel its waste of time and will never watch this again.
I will have to recant my previous comment about how excited i am to watching it based on first two episodes. Unfortunately it went all downhill after that pretty hard. Although it is a trope rinsed way too many times and some of them were fantastic dramas boss/employee relationship , this is one didnt live up to it. ALthough lead actors are great at acting , the chemistry didnt even click one bit for me. I always yearn and swoon for the leads first kiss, in this one i felt so awkward i was forwarding it. The personal and professional conflicts are all that we have seen too many times, if executed well could have rehabilitated the story. This is lukewarm , template , drawn out drama with no real engagement factor. After 5th episode , i fast warded all episodes just to make sure i dont miss something crucial , but nothing of substance happened really. Han ji Min aces the other dramas like Roof top prince, familiar wife, Light in your eyes and one spring night but not this one. and its not her fault , may be a different FL should have been casted. Anyways 6/10.
On the mid of episode 2 , by far the best i have seen in a long time interms of engagement factor. Immediately had me hooked, Chemistry between the leads and the quirky music which enhances the scenes , the adorableness all the characters bring is so enjoyable. I am so invested , premise setsup beautifully for a bickering relationship and having a kid we know she is gonna warm up and waiting to become family. Male lead is so likeable , we know the female lead is OG for this type of role. Lovin it so much.
Tried two episodes and fast forwarded 3rd, supremely boring for me. right from the character interaction , story plot , conflict , Leads chemistry , none of them able to keep me engaged. Dropping it.
And to this Drama defenders please dont come at me with how good this drama and i am in inept to enjoy it. Its my subjective experience that i am sharing, i know it has good ratings, doesnt mean i would have to like it. Thanks
Coming this year, D+ announced it, it's linked above. Lucky you, we all had to wait for two years for it LOL.
Yeah thanks, Full context though , I watched right when it released as well. I even had checked out about season 2 a while back and also the nature of how it ended , pretty sure they had to give next sequel to explain about his uncle's mystery etc; Now it was more of stumbling upon this in happenstance and wanted to be part of comment section . As soon as i posted , i saw season 2 in the related content. Thanks anyways for taking time to respond.
I had a tough time in the beginning to and debated about dropping it, but hung on and am now on epi 8 and its…
Thank you Karen, Comment like these reminds me, good souls like you who offer their opinion in a civil way have not yet gone extinct as species on the internet. we still have Hope. ❤️
It fell flat in the second half, The main leads were not possessing some traits and personality i could get behind and root and care for them. We can pretty much can infer there might have been something bad and horrible happened to FL to commit such a crime, however when we get to the reveal of what happened which justifies the crime it had gone past the engaging factor, There were not much intelligence at play . Conflict, stakes and payoff all seemingly underwhelming in the end. Felt like a chore to finish this from EP8 onwards.
Worst female lead portrayal ever. A story which neednt be told and there wasnt anything to root for or anyone to care for in this drama. Twists and turns doesnt serve any purpose than vacuous stroking of FL ego. What a waste of time this was.
