It's human nature to stereotype in general. It's also human nature to form opinions on 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th hand…
Your right, it's wrong, but doesn't mean it's not a natural human occurrence. Or a real part of human nature.
Just like temptation. Is temptation wrong? Absolutely, but it's still a very real part of being human. It is how we deal with temptation that separates us.
Stereotypes is the same thing as generalizations, and almost everyone in the world generalizes about something in one way or another. To say, that you never generalize is impossible.
In fact, let's perform a test, do you think Jisoo is a nice person?
There's not much information yet regarding the show, but the addition of Yoo In Na is interesting as she's a fairly…
Realistically, I only wish people would stop hyping the show, as this will just backfire like crazy.
In my experience, hype has rarely ever been good for Kdrama's in general. TKEM was extremely hyped up as LMH's first show after military, with KGE of Goblin fame, and KES, who has a number of smash hits under her belt. The result? People in general did not like it.
Then you have startup, another popular writer, 2 hallyu stars, and hyped like crazy, and promoted a lot by their agencies and Netflix. The result? Another flop.
Now, we have snowdrop, it's being hyped once again, with another popular writer/director team from Skycastle, and it's being hyped up again as one of the best in 2021. Then there is all this hype following Jisoo. All this does, is set expectations of people way way up. That when the drama turns out to be average or less than average, the criticism from non Jisoo fans will be pretty big.
So hopefully the fans will stop hyping up this drama, so that it can become a successful debut for Jisoo. Better less hype, then have the drama smash expectations, than have so much hype, for the drama never to reach the highs.
Keep in mind, viewership ratings in Korea are still important. TKEM grabbed 8% average, Start Up grabbed 5%. Snowdrop only needs to break through 10% to be considered a success.
hi, can i ask for a spoiler?1. when the main lead officially become a couple?2. any misunderstanding and break…
1. Ep. 2
2. Yes, there is a misunderstanding that is revealed in Ep. 10. They break up in Ep. 11, and get back together in Ep. 15.
3. It depends on your experience for the first 8 episodes. If by episode 8, your pulling your hair out, or having strong feelings for the happiness of the SL, then you probably will not like the ending. If you enjoy the relationship of the ML and FL up until EP. 12, then you'll enjoy the happy ending.
Why is this one person so against Jisoo? Commenting that it's human nature to stereotype idols.....
It's human nature to stereotype in general.
It's also human nature to form opinions on 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th hand information.
Also, you need to understand that stereotypes are always based on some level of truth. The stereotype prevalent in MDL is that Idol Actors/Actresses are not the best at acting. There have been enough examples to show that this stereotypes has some value in it.
Now, one needs to understand that stereotypes are not meant as a Law or a Fact, as there have been quite a few idol Actors/Actress that actually do quite well. But enough idols do not do well in the acting department that the stereotype even has value at all. So it's not in the realm of impossibility to imagine that this may be the same here as well.
The thing is, when a Drama is hyped like this, the same way TKEM was hyped, the chances of the Kdrama satisfying…
Stans, from my understanding is actually a combination of the words "Stalker" and "Fans". In more colloquial terms, it's a internet slang used to denote the level that goes beyond the regular fanboying/fangirling for a particular celebrity.
When using the word Stan, we don't actually talk about people literally stalking celebrities, but actually the extreme psyche of fans who are very committed into their fanboy/fangirling for a particular celebrity.
When a fan has reached Stan status, they will feel the need to defend their celebrity from every less than positive comment, no matter how innocent, minor, or ineffectual. Also, they often get very aggressive in their defense, because just the mere thought of their celebrity not being the best in the world, is enough to send them into a tizzy.
Now, if you make the mistake of disagreeing with Stans, they will typically call you an "Anti" or a "Hater".
I think for the most part, there will always be someone better for any role, because there are tons of great actors/actresses…
It's a part of any online social commentary. I mean you can find trolls/stans for almost every public figure, no matter how good they are. Heck, I imagine even the Pope has his own haters. That's life, what can you do LOL, all we can do is press that block button, or not let the negativity bother us :))))
Kpop stans are quite crazy and dangerous. And they have been a thing for a while. The thing is, with the number of Idols becoming actors/actresses, their fandom is leaking over to Kdrama, and so we are getting these stans all over. Plus the new crop of stars like LMH and NJH are also creating some pretty crazy fans. A lot of the veteran actors like Lee Byung Hun, Gong Yoo, Son Ye Jin, Hyun Bin and etc... don't have these kind of fanatic fans, yet they are all amazing actors, and prove it on the screen, rather than with hype.
I don't mind the white filters! It gives the production value a sort of ethereal feel. Plus i've always wanted to be whiter in skin tone, but unfortunately I'm a bit on the tan side myself.
Personally i'm not going to filter myself or censor myself to assuage the insecurities of stans. I find their comments semi-amusing some times :)))
Well, I've never seen Skycastle, but I heard it's quite good. But after Start Up, I realize, a good writer doesn't guarantee that she won't have any flops. So we will have to see when this one airs.
I feel bad for Yoo In Na, a lifetime of almost all secondary or supporting leads. She's pretty though!
I never saw her movie debut, but was aware of the plot, it's pretty much Korea erotica if i'm not mistaken. Because of Goblin, i'm not a fan of KGE, she has forever scarred me to her character. And her portrayal in TKEM did not help her case.
Gong Yoo and KGE also did not have much chemistry in Goblin, which wasn't helped by how mature Gong Yoo was, and how immature KGE was acting.
There is just so so so much things to watch on Netflix, that I only watch shows I feel I won't get bored from. And since i'm often working while watching Dramas, and I need to read subtitles, the Kdrama needs to be either hyped or critically reviewed for me to consider focusing time on it.
The petal falling on NDS being the major reason why NDS and SDM should end up together, while ignoring all the…
Honest opinions are ok, after all, that's what these comment sections are for. But let's try to do it with less aggression, as it does nothing to further the conversation.
I actually agree that near the end HJP and SDM did not fit anymore. It was clear to the audience, although SDM kept saying she wanted harsh truths, and facts, deep in her heart she preferred hope and dreams and fantasy.
So I have no problem that HJP didn't end up with SDM, as I feel HJP deserve someone more compatible with him. It was unfortunate though, that the writer didn't bother writing proper endings for both HJP and WIJ, and that is where most of the backlash is coming from.
Also, I think the fact that a majority did not like how Start Up ended, shows writing mishaps from the writer, and a poor understanding of how the current crop of Kdrama watchers think.
I feel bad for Yoo In Na, a lifetime of almost all secondary or supporting leads. She's pretty though!
I kind of blame KGE in this one. Her debut is in a movie called A Muse, which is this kind of creepy movie where a HS student is in a sexual relationship with a man much much older than her. So seeing her in a similar role where she kept calling Gong Yoo "ahjussi" which pretty much means uncle, is kind of weird. It didn't help that KGE acted like a super immature HS student.
ahh didn't watch spies, but I won't bother if I see it, if your panning it LOL!
I only watched greatest love and my love from the star, where she is in those role. And I think she does well in it, she's kind of got that RBF thing going for her. Resting B=tch Face.
A double agent plotline would be really nice for Snowdrop. I've always loved double agent plotlines.
The petal falling on NDS being the major reason why NDS and SDM should end up together, while ignoring all the…
LOL! I love this new more racist troll. Your putting more thought into your post, so I can respect that.
A+ for effort!
Here's hoping this account doesn't get banned fast :))))
Ugh Asians and their pitchfork, am I right? Due to Covid-19, and the number of Kdrama's on Netflix, I think Amazon ran out of Pitchforks, I still have my gold plated pitchfork on my wish list :((((
The petal falling on NDS being the major reason why NDS and SDM should end up together, while ignoring all the…
Your right, it's not SDM's job to save him. I never implied it was.
But with that same logic, it's not HJP's job to save both SST, SDM and NDS either, but yet he does so anyway. NDS does all his "good deeds" with clear ulterior motives IMO. If they were so selfless, he wouldn't feel the need to list them out for all to hear.
Well it's clear we watched different shows, based on your views. And you've taken an unnecessarily aggressive tone, which makes me think, that there is no point to continue this conversation, as it will just spiral, so I'll end it here.
Feel free to rate all 10's to spite the 1 and 2 ratings, not like anyone really cares since the drama is done :)))
Also FYI, watch the show again, I think it's stated somewhere that NDS is 30 after the three year time skip. And the actress who portrays young SDM looks substantially older than Young NDS, 2 years older to be exact. So if anything SDM may even be older than NDS. And using you logic, of an 11 year age gap, that would mean that HJP was 18 years old, when he wrote to a 7 year old SDM. So.... yeah...
Just like temptation. Is temptation wrong? Absolutely, but it's still a very real part of being human. It is how we deal with temptation that separates us.

Only time will tell if this show will go the direction of CLOY or Start Up

But yes, I understand that BP doesn't have one, I just wrongly assumed Jisoo was the lead.

I'm going to leave you unblocked because your semi-entertaining, Enjoy your day friend!

Isn't Jisoo lead vocals though?
Plus I know Jisoo is the most popular in Korea.

Stans are people who cannot even take any criticism of their stars. And personally attack the people who dare criticize their goddesses.
Nothing wrong with loving Jisoo, tbh.
