I need to watch s3 of Cobra Kai asap like, lets go! It most definitely has solid writing :)
I just discovered it, it's quite bingeable.
It has my favorite writing style, which is Grey characters. Not knowing who to root for, and how almost every character are flawed.
I felt season 3 had a bit more inconsistent writing, but still good.
I also liked how the nerds, stayed through to their selves, and proved that you can still get the girl, when your a nerd. Something Start Up failed to do with NDS character. It's certainly a very inspirational show.
As I was bored I ended up watching first episode of Start Up and actually felt sad on how much the potential was…
Actually, if SDM had given HJP a chance after she found out the truth about the letters, there would be more people sympathetic to NDS, because it would make it look like he was just used by both HJP and SDM.
The right time to make SDM realize HJP would have to be before the letter reveal. Or during the 3 year time skip. Given them more scenes.
Normally, when I like a show, I replay my favorite parts. Problem is, there isn't that much HJP scenes with SDM. Plus, every time I see NDS face, I just get annoyed, ruining the rewatching experience.
"Sailing without a map". The first time I heard it, it was awesome and sounded promising. But the next time was…
There is a disconnect with the familial aspect.
The father loved both daughters, I'm sure he would be disappointed to see his youngest daughter, spend pretty much her entire life trying to outdo her older sister.
Because people who like NDS, subconsciously look for justification for to be their worst self. So basically, they…
NDS's character arc is basically a millennials wet dream. Do nothing, and expect everything. So that may have been the angle the writer was trying to focus on. Showing KSH, who is on the older end of the millennial spectrum, may have been inspiring for people. But instead we get NJH's portrayal, of the type of millennial who constantly get memed and stereotyped about.
If the writer just took HJP out of the equation, she may have had more time to flesh out NDS characterization properly. But I guess love triangle creates buzz... Which again, makes me think this writer is lazy. She could have written a great plot, and create buzz with an amazing plot. But you know, I guess it was too much work.
Start Up is basically the writer, Park Hye Run convincing us, the audience, that HJP is Robin and NDS is Batman.…
Yes, I would have preferred a socially awkward NDS from EP. 1 all the way to the end. NDS changed for the worst, and didn't stay true to his core personality which he has had for 27 years of his life.
It's so rare to see people change from awkward nerd to casanova in a span of a few months time. Quite unrealistic. There was nary a speck of the old NDS in his characterization.
I remember when we got to the revenge storyline I was surprised by how slapdash and rushed it felt. I couldn't…
The revenge storyline was incredibly forced, and led to nothing, other than to show Yong San growth after three years, which ended up meaning nothing, since NDS was the one who made all the decisions.
There are many scenes in the drama that were useless. Making Yong San "CEO" is one of them. In fact the whole HJP crying to Grandma, and saying he wasn't a good boy, as tragic as it was, is also very useless considering how little it affected the plot.
In fact, I would say the drama probably contains roughly 30% pointless scenes that do nothing to affect the plot or ending.
It's Polo again. I'm on my third username because of a calamity with my computer. Don't ask. I can see why some…
Because people who like NDS, subconsciously look for justification for to be their worst self. So basically, they allow themselves to believe that they are able to do bad deeds, violent misdeeds, or immoral actions, because of reasons like bad parents, poor self esteem from bad parents, a poor hand dealt by life.
But what these people fail to understand is, that everything is relative. Before you go out and unleash your anger and resentment, due to a bad hand, maybe consider the people like HJP, who are ACTUALLY dealt a bad hand, and see how they cope with it.
I thought that regardless of how much mental gymnastic you do, it's hard to justify a lot of NDS actions. And a 10 minute backstory in Ep. 9 or 10 isn't going to suddenly get people pitying NDS.
I feel some people like NDS because it's portrayed by NJH. While more people liked KSH because of how he portrayed HJP. There's a difference here.
Actually, a type of Sandboxes do exist via incubators. There are tons of them in Silicon Valley, these incubators…
Agreed, health is more important. Plus if he chooses his script properly, and the dramas end up being instant classics, he doesn't need to do more than 1 a year.
Well, according to the people who loved that show.
If you loved it, it's because your smart, and understood the genius of the writer.
If you hated it, it's because your dumb, and couldn't understand the complex plot.
Personally I disliked it more than Start Up. But you can give it a few episodes. If you don't like the first 2 episodes, then just drop it, as it won't get any better.
The negativity is more of the wasted potential, and nonsensical story.

Yeah, SDM's characterization was also torpedoed to save NDS.
The right time to make SDM realize HJP would have to be before the letter reveal. Or during the 3 year time skip. Given them more scenes.

Quite disappointing from a family aspect.
HJP constantly playing babysitter for the kids felt emotionally draining LOL!
Worst part, he didn't even get paid. They could have added a line where he owned like 5-10% of the new companies shares, but nada.
If the writer just took HJP out of the equation, she may have had more time to flesh out NDS characterization properly. But I guess love triangle creates buzz... Yeah, nobody is buying it.
