Actually, a type of Sandboxes do exist via incubators. There are tons of them in Silicon Valley, these incubators…
Yes, I'm aware that a lot of the FL's are a lot older than their ML counterpart. And I do see complaints about those. But i'm talking specifically about Noona romance plot I mean.
As much as I love SMA, if he had to choose, I'd rather he do link.
Actually, a type of Sandboxes do exist via incubators. There are tons of them in Silicon Valley, these incubators…
You may be right, he has been blessed this year, who knew he would overshadow not just NJH but also Suzy as well?
Hmm, I'll need to rewatch some SMA dramas, I was thinking how her body looks amazing.
I mean their young, but their quite competent in the acting department, but your right, the age gap would make some people uncomfy. I would prefer he work with same age or a few years younger. Having actresses who are a lot older, like SYJ, GHJ and etc.. would just make people assume it's a noona romance. Which is not so popular in Korea.
I'd like to see Mr. Hong not be a straight up slap stick type of comedy. It gives me Mr. Deeds vibe from the plot. Hopefully they go more the when the camellia blooms route, and introduce an interest cast of villagers.
If not for SMA, i'm actually more interested in the plot for Link, it seems like there is more room to play around with that type of plot.
A lot of stars launched their career off ONE role in a movie/drama. So I am expecting the same things from him.He…
No, I haven't seen his theatrical clips before. But so far in Waikiki and Start Up, I feel he has a good boy face.
Yeah, when he said he wouldn't leave 2D1N, it felt like a loyalty thing more than anything. I think even he is surprised at how popular he became from Start Up. He needs to hit the pan while it's hot.
If he doesn't do enough projects, his 2D1N persona may pigeonhole him into more comedic roles, which I think isn't the best path for him. Has KSH already finished his service?
i keep coming back to this comment section cuz it's entertaining to read, but dang nobody talks about the older…
WIJ? Kang Hanna was amazing in that role. Her limited cameo role was such a shame for a character that had an interesting backstory of her own. Seeing more of her scenes, and seeing more of her character development would have been an amazing moral lesson on how money isn't everything, and the importance of family in one's life.
But unfortunately, the show felt the need to cut out WIJ's scenes to show more scenes of NDS and SDM canoodling in slow motion. Waste of Kang Hanna talents.
Check out this video! She looks so fun to be around.

I think, even prior to Start Up, he was already getting a lot of recognition. He's only been a proper actor for 3 years, and he's already done some great work and acted with some big stars. I think even without Start Up he would have gotten his big break in 2021, but Start Up made his name even hotter. His you're driving me crazy kiss scene has more than 10M views on YouTube. And prior to Start Up, it was already at 8M.
Yeah, he portrayed the good boy role so well. Like, I feel it is so easy to portray a completely white character, but KSH added so many dimensions of grey to his character. His micro expressions were great in allowing his own personality to shine through the role.
SMA is curvy? She looks to me like your typical KDrama bombshell with perfect proportions. She has a body I would love to have LOL!
Yes, no more Suzy type actresses, I would be interested to see his pairing with the child actresses though, like KSH or KYJ. But here is the thing about TVN. They are built like Netflix, they will get the biggest name stars for their project, because their budgets are huge, and they feel the bigger the name = most watched.
A lot of stars launched their career off ONE role in a movie/drama. So I am expecting the same things from him.He…
as much as I hate psychological thrillers, I actually feel KSH has this capacity to do it so well, because his face is so inherently innocent. And that dynamic between kind exterior and diabolical interior would be a delight.
Yeah, not sure if SALT is the best agency for him, but KSH seems like such a loyal guy, so I doubt he will leave.
2 Dramas for 2021 is ideal, and take a break from theatrical and variety for 2021, especially since during COVID not much can attend the plays in person anyway.
Actually, a type of Sandboxes do exist via incubators. There are tons of them in Silicon Valley, these incubators…
Ahh, yes you are right, I'm hoping that he gets an actual defining role as the ones you've mentioned. HJP is a good start, but shouldn't be the role that defines his career, considering how the writer killed the character form ep. 8 and up. I loved All In, that was a kickass drama with LBH.
I think Start Up already has done that for him. People only really watched the show for him, and agree majority, that he is the reason the show didn't tank further.
I like Shin Min Ah as well, she's shown that she can act in a more mature role now, because before she was pigeonholed into that Rom Com hole. I like your actor list, I agree with most of it, since I haven't seen all of them. Plus I can't help how cute they will look with the twin dimples :)))
In case people haven't watched yet. Cobra Kai is a little nice and easy watching distraction on Netflix. I find it's nicely paced with good writing. Plus, in terms of ML and SML, it does a very good job on making the audience root for both of them to end up with the FL. Start Up could learn so much from this. The teenagers of Cobra Kai, even though they are in HS setting shows a lot less angst, crying, and immaturity than the adults in Start Up.
So far i'm liking the top 10 watched function on Netflix, it's been mostly good for me.
A lot of stars launched their career off ONE role in a movie/drama. So I am expecting the same things from him.He…
I've only seen waikiki and Start Up so far. So I can only talk about this. And his character in these two were quite different IMO. From the acting, the background, the mannerism's and everything. I think the softie thing he oozes out is more of a director decision, which is smart IMO. The thing is, KSH has a face that is just so innocent and charming. So it's hard to imagine him in a villain role. But who knows, he may have what it takes to pull it off.
Like for me, I don't think he needs 2D1N so much anymore. He's become quite popular in Korea, and will probably continue to do so if SALT plays it's cards right. CF deals are just the start of it. The more awards he wins, the more his popularity will go up, as Korea makes a big deal of those awards AFAIK.
I'm not so sure how controlling SALT will be, I think 2021 will be his year, it will be up to him to literally take the good ball coming his way and knock it out of the park.
Korea has an idol worship of their celebrities, it's not surprising. But as far as idols go, you can't go wrong with the wholesome and fun image KSH exudes.
Yeah I don't mind 2 dramas in 2021 either, but I feel he needs to drop 2D1N, or take a short hiatus.
Actually, a type of Sandboxes do exist via incubators. There are tons of them in Silicon Valley, these incubators…
I will be the first to admit GHJ isn't like traditional pretty, but for some reason, I find her so charming, and thus she feels pretty to me, LOL!
Well KSH just started his journey, but I feel, he is headed more the Jo Jung Suk route than the LMH/NJH route. I feel he won't be pigeonholed to Rom Com. I could be wrong though.
When I said LMH/NJH, I meant as in the draw he will have. People only watched TKEM for LMH, and Start Up for NJH. I believe that KSH has the potential to be a safe pick to garner ratings. And he will solidify this with his next project that is a success. Which is why i'm excited whether he choose Shin Min ah or Kim Ji Won as his next leading lady, it will go on to prove that Start Up was a start of something new, rather than a one time thing.
U guys have any good tech company dramas (Korean/Japanese/Chinese) to recommended?
Have you seen Silicon Valley HBO? worth a watch if you like tech shows. You won't find deep tech knowledge in any Asian shows, as they focus more on the romance than the actual technicalities in their procedural shows.
A lot of stars launched their career off ONE role in a movie/drama. So I am expecting the same things from him.He…
There are people who get defined by one role. For example on friends, Matthey Perry, regardless of what role he does, always just reminds me of Chandler. But I've seen welcome to waikiki 2, and KSH is just a completely different person there, so I feel his acting has a big range, and people can see pass his HJP persona. I don't think he has peaked. Given a ML role, i'm confident he will do well.
He will have to leave 2D1N eventually. He can always do the variety route when he's older. Right now at his age is his prime, he needs to grab the opportunity.
As much as fans wants to see him in 2 dramas and 1 movie per year. Let's be realistic. Lot's of Actors/Actresses do only 1 drama per year, and are considered super popular still. It's quality over quantity. GHJ is rumored to be very picky with her scripts, and it shows. Her lowest rated Drama is something like 9% viewership ratings, which is still pretty amazing.
Not everyone needs to be a Hwang Jung Eum, or a Jang Nara, and do multiple projects per year.
As much as I love SMA, if he had to choose, I'd rather he do link.

Does this mean that every single Kdrama with a love triangle has poor reviews and ratings then?
Like for me, I don't think he needs 2D1N so much anymore. He's become quite popular in Korea, and will probably continue to do so if SALT plays it's cards right. CF deals are just the start of it.
