Ahh I see. I'm used to seeing * as a veiled way to insult someone. And *** seemed like A S S to me, so I may have overreacted. Thanks for clarifying. I've sent an apology message to the person.
Anyway, I've had 3 new accounts try to undermine me recently, and attempt to shame me today, and I've gotten tired of it.
I just blocked them. Maybe I misunderstood the response, as I thought it was a curse. Thanks for clearing that up. Maybe I will unblock the person then.
I love that you've made it your mission in life to totally undermine this couple.
I just don't understand the logic. A guy asked a girl, "why do you like me" 2 or 3 times now. This is a clear sign of insecurity. He literally tells her, he is not the man she fell in love with 15 years ago, but she can't come up with even just one adjective, one fond memory to make him feel better. Instead of assuaging his insecurity, she makes it worse by giving him a non-answer.
But he's so in love with her, he doesn't care anymore. Seems like a relationship I cannot understand. I guess they are both closing their eyes in this relationships?
A thought came to my mind. And it's Suzy's response of "Just because".
I wanted to imagine some situations where this response would not be a satisfactory answer.
Imagine an incredibly wealthy guy/girl ask a not so rich girl/guy.
If she answer's "Just because", wouldn't it be a good assumption that she may be a gold digger? I mean some wealthy people are already wary of gold digger guys/girls, so if the significant other can't even name one thing of why they like the guy/girl, seems like a red flag.
Imagine an incredibly beautiful woman/man is proposed to by a guy/girl who is wealthy.
If he answer's "Just because", is isn't it possible the guy is only marrying her for her looks, and she will become a trophy wife? Or once they have relations, he may dump her? It would add to the insecurity of the woman I feel, as they guy doesn't even appreciate her other factors.
I feel just because doesn't assuage insecurities, but rather magnify them. And I feel NDS was so desperate to be with SDM, that she could have said "I like you because your hair is black", and he would still be head over heels with her. Just a weird relationship overall IMO.
I haven't seen this writer's other works. But maybe she just did not write this one that well. All those symbolism,…
LOL! it's certainly possible, I heard she even got death threats, so I can imagine her purposely writing the ending we got to flip the bird at Jidal fans.
There is one scene, where they talk about betrayals and traitors, and it showed Yong San's face. And I'm like , oh I'm sure this is a red herring. But you know what, it wasn't a red herring. It made me realize, maybe this story is just really not that complex at all.
I think the fan theories, analyses and etc... just goes to show the maturity of the audience Start Up managed to capture. An older audience who have watched many deeper shows, was probably expecting more from this show, but in the end, it just became you standard, fluffy rom-com, where in Oprah's voice...
"You get a car..., You get a car..., You get a car..."
You want to know something interesting? 5 of Suzy's dramas all went up by .2 - .3 points. Coincidence? Maybe...NJH's…
Yup, I think you summed it up well.
I also have watched highly rated dramas like Goblin which I really didn't like, and watched shows like Pasta, which I enjoy, but is rated lower.
Plus I understand that people have different taste, and some may actually enjoy Start Up, and it's fine with me. I'm just not ok with people who cannot accept that their handsome/pretty actors has a show that isn't rated all 10's, and attack people critique it.
I still value the rating though, since, even with fake accounts on both side of the spectrum, I agree with 90% of the ratings I see.
Okay, new theory about the plot change for people who think there was one. It was just the whim of the writer…
I haven't seen this writer's other works. But maybe she just did not write this one that well. All those symbolism, metaphors, foreshadowing, red herrings, and parallelism, that we saw may just be ghost. Worth nothing in the greater scheme of things.
Your theory does make sense, because the love SDM and NDS had for each other in the first 6 episodes felt more natural, organically growing, not forced. After Ep. 7, which culminated with the roof top scene, the plot just kind of felt force fed. And I agree, the writer was trying hard to force feed an image of NDS that most people did not buy, which made Ep. 10 a head scratcher. Why would a writer, who is trying to create Good Will, make NDS react like that? I mean, her assistant writers must have at least warned her that scene was a 50/50 chance of sending the wrong message.
A sample of force fed scenes was how in Ep. 10 they had to show that everyone wanted to cheat, and NDS is the only one who is being honest. It felt so forced to show us NDS honest side.
Also from a technical side, we can just adjust the accuracy to make it fit the narrative, I seriously doubt this. When creating technical solutions that hinged on accuracy, increasing accuracy isn't something as simple as tweaking some code within days, it takes months of work if not more to bump up the 1-2% it needed to match the narrative.
It's like imagine if Pfizer, who is coming out with a Covid Vaccine told people our vaccine is 97% accurate, then secretly they are going to bump up the accuracy of the vaccine, it's not that simple, and takes quite a bit of time to move up even 1%.
I guess, the writer felt most people wouldn't bother doing research?
My girlfriend got me into watching korean dramas last week. The first one i tried a couple of days ago was Just…
Good luck to to you! are you both in the industry?
I have been to one of these hackathons once, its interesting!
Yes they are guys here as well as girls. I am not so sure on the percentage though. I suspect there are more women, as more women watch Kdrama in general.
If your looking for your next drama together, may I suggest Mr. Queen. They just recently broke the 10% barrier in ratings. And Run On, a fresh perspective on Kdrama with a unique ML and unique FL. No love triangle too, unless you want shows with love triangles, then you can try True Beauty.
Yes the background of SY is interesting based on what little we see.
Maybe give it a few more episodes?

Hjp deserves better than sdm
And
Sdm and nds lack chemistry
