Just now, we have a NDS fan putting down HJP fans.
There may be more HJP fans, but the minority, NDS fans, are actually the ones making it personal majority of the times.
I'd like to understand why? Dodal is end game, why the need to gloat on HJP dreamers who wish of the 1%.
It just seems unnecessarily cruel and childish.
Not much HJP fans are attacking NDS fans personally. They may criticize NDS, but criticizing a fictional character, and directly antagonizing other posters are two completely different things.
Question: How do you use Noon-gil after you are completely blind and don't know where to aim your phone? Will…
Noongil will never replace a seeing-eye dog/service animal. A service dog will help you get from point a to point b a lot easier.
As a blind person, you're still going to be using your cane, service dog 90% of the time. If you were to use Noon Gil to replace a seeing eye dog, your going to be getting around much slower, first of all, and your phone will run out of battery in approx 2 hours. With a battery pack, maybe it will last 8 hours.
The battery test they did in the show is a joke, with the current battery usage of the built in apps, background processes and etc... your phone that is on the whole time, especially an AI app with video and voice integration will drain your battery like crazy.
Plus i'm pretty sure this AI would need some sort of connection to data plans which will drain even more battery.
I am trying to understand why NDS fans bother arguing with HJP fans?
First off, as Cheul San says, NDS fans have the high ground, they have the winning ship, they have all the promotional material, OST, and even cast interview supporting them, increased Dodal scenes, and writers bias. AND YET, NDS fans are so insecure in their ship, that they spend so much time attacking HJP fans for even considering HJP to be a good person. As if the show can only have one gentle giant in NDS, and considering another person nicer than NDS is an affront?
This is like a millionaire, competing with a homeless person. All we HJP fans have left is this comment section, and some online polls, and even that NDS fans want to dominate those? Like why?
What is the logic of having everything, and wanting to gloat towards people who don't have much? Lot's of small hands among these NDS fans is all I can say.
Whoever is handling the PPL promotions on the show needs to get fired.
With the number of people fast forwarding NDS and SDM scenes, the PPL are not getting the maximum exposure. In fact, the only PPL I remember is Lancome, and Mercedes Benz. What are the other PPL's in the show?
I was thinking, one of the bigger reasons Start Up is so messed up, is because of the deception of the writes/promoters. What do I mean?
You see, a lot of the 2020 dramas that have come out are mature content, and typically more mature romances. In Start Up the audience believed that would be the case, it certainly started that way. So as the audience were being reeled in by the prospect of a mature love triangle, and interesting business dynamic, the writer then hoodwinked people by transporting the characters into a HS drama setting.
So, this sudden tonal shift, sent mature audiences reeling, as the expectation has changed. If the writer had started writing the ML's as giddy first love teenagers in their 20's and made everyone around them similar in maturity, these detriments would not be as obvious. But because the writer wrote the other two main leads as mature adults, HJP/WIJ, this further showed the gap of how immature the main couple was.
In fact, half the time I felt that that instead of the drama happening in Korea's Silicon Valley, all this was happening in a Korean High School instead, and NDS and SDM were exchanging promise rings and etc... Rather than a high stakes competitive start up environment.
Yong Sil is such an important character in the show...
Which is why I am a little annoyed that it isn't shown that the developers are successful or not. Even a quick mention by manager park how the 2STO deal benefited them, something showing that you can't just use another person's propriety technology for free.
Come on show, teach us some business about start-ups.
Interesting point, I wanted to add my own thoughts if you don't mind. It's going to be a semi-long response, I…
SDM's dream actually, and i'm sure most fans will agree is to be better than her sister WIJ. She has shown many times in the show that this is her true intentions. Being a CEO would not be enough, she wanted to be a CEO that was more successful than WIJ. If being a CEO was enough for her dream, she accomplished this in Ep. 3.
NDS dream, and i'm sure most people will agree, is to make SDM his. For them to be a relationship. Making a misunderstanding a reality is the means for that to happen.
SDM was working with WIJ, and with two lead designers who have different thought processes. And you telling me, in all their meetings they collectively could not come up with any other idea than self driving cars? It's clear that SDM's "vision" of self driving cars are motivated by her thoughts of NDS, he even questioned her about it on ep. 14, and she questioned his motivations as well. This is CLEARLY the writers telling the viewers that they projects in the past three years were meant as an ode to their past love. If they truly were inhibited and was not restricted by the six point harness, the writers did nothing to show this. So, I stand by my assessment of them creating a self limiting cage. It's been clear that after 3 years, Cheul San and Yong San has matured more than NDS.
HJP does not do himself any favors. When the truth of the letters came to light, HJP if he was more selfish, could easily have pursued his love, but instead he still made excuses for NDS, and he never clarified to SDM if the letters meant anything to him. From SDM's point of view, all the emotions in the letters were fake as well. So yeah technically NDS is her first love, and with it includes all the advantages being a first love has to SDM.
So SDM is NDS muse then. He helps him focus his vision. But in reality, he still thinks SDM is his dream, that is why he symbolically throws away the ball in the trashcan. If he has truly matured and founded a more proper dream, he wouldn't have done so.
It's not clear they are fulfilling their own dreams to be honest. And the fact that they are crying and angsting even more after the three year time skip shows the immaturity of the relationship. They are dealing with their emotions far worse than 3 years before. Like I said, Yong San and Cheul San have immense character growth compared to NDS. And that reminds me, Yong San as CEO is just another empty title.
I appreciate you are seeing these different angles on the story, but IMO, the writers have not done us viewers favors by their writing. Where you want to see depth of the emotions, the writers instead are waddling in the kiddie pool.
Nice analysis regardless for the NDS side, quite level headed.
now its 73%...look at the comments on the poll... almost 90% comments are for HJP... even indians love him...
Interesting, thanks for the info! I'm always curious about other cultures.
Which is why I don't understand why CEO's are treated like useless in Start Up. It's become like a throw away phrase. Even in Waikiki 2, I notice they called the stunt double guy a CEO also.
Maybe it's a Korean thing, where the term CEO doesn't mean much as compared to western countries.
So i'm trying to understand the psyche of NDS fans. If this was a 50-50 ship war, I understand since it's a tight race.
But it's a 99-1 ship war? So why does the 99 side feel the need to antagonize the 1 side? Where is the logic?
There is such a thing as a gracious winner.

Why do fans, who belongs to the ship that will sail, feel the constant need to antagonize HJP fans, who hang onto a 1% chance?
Like I said, it's like a rich person stealing food from a poor person, doesn't make sense.
Maybe you can explain why?

Closet miji fan? Its ok we welcome you!

I think I saw a Columbia jacket as well?
On MDL there are two shows called Start Up.
There is a Korean movie called Start-Up that is rated 7.8
Then there is the Korean TV show called Start-Up which is rated 8.1
After this show is done, we will see which Start-Up reigns supreme!
Which would make the rating biased would it not?

Is Indian matchmaking the show criticized? Or the practice of Indian matchmaking?
Haha yeah, it showed up on my netflix recommended so i watched it.
