It would make sense that he will do it again. Because he has never been punished for his mistakes. Even when SST disbanded it was SDM who got shafted the hardest.
So makes sense he will do the same mistake again, since he didn't learn the first time.
Disappointing in SDM though, who did get hurt, and should have learn her lesson, but looks like she is letting emotions get in the way.
I've read some of the parallel and symbolism theories on reddit, and it made me realize something.
The characters attach a lot of significance on material objects. And almost every single major character in the show gives something to the person they like/love, except for one person, that's right, in all 14 episodes, NDS never gives any material object to anybody, which includes SDM.
Let me run down the list on the items, all of them symbolize love, support, and care for the person you give the item to.
1. Halmoni leaves corndogs for young HJP to eat 2. SDM father gives WIJ a music box 3. Letters between HJP and SDM 4. SDM's dad buys Fried Chicken 5. Grandma gives her son money 6. Honestly, for someone like HJP who has had a hard and lonely life, I don't know why he keeps pining for someone flaky, irresponsible, and mentally weak as SDM.
He has achieved so much on his own, and now he is blocking his own happiness by pining over a weak FL like SDM. Plus, why does he still keep helping SDM? she never appreciates it, and she keeps leading him on, quite toxic from SDM. 3 years, you let a man think he has a shot, that's just cruel.
