Argh - seeing that Fluke is the first profile in the cast I thought he had another main lead but he's just a supporting character... I miss him so much!
This series was really DONE RIGHT: the directing was great and the cinematography was excellent, the actors owned their characters despite being young and having little to no experience, the OST had some great songs in it and the story was entertaining and filled with twists!
It was a great example of how a BL can have a story and follow it, while also having some BL elements and meaningful romantic/intimate scenes between the characters that add something to the episode instead of just being fanservice.
10/10 for me, I need more of these dramas with a story!
PS.: and obviously, I need to state the fact that Keng is the finest man in 2025's thai BL stars' rooster... I just can't come to terms with how goodlooking this man is.
Finished, and I swear I hadn't watched something so enthralling in ages! I've been watching dramas since the end of the 90's and rarely I was so seated for a story! It's incredible they managed to keep the feels for 40 episodes: there was no pause, no dull moment, no meaningless event.
If I could rate it 11/10, I would! And I loved the ending too, it was how it was meant to be. I will rewatch it for sure in the future, and I'll stay tuned for S2!
Holy simoly was this a rollercoaster! 9/10 for me. I loved it, I really enjoyed every second of the dramatic dramaticness it had, and Pearl/Peak were great... BUT there were also quite few plot/lazywriting/dialogue issues.
Last episode felt ENDLESS and when we finally arrived to the actual end, I was like: "what? it can't just finish like this!". Somehow so many things happened in the last couple of episodes that having only five minutes of happiness wasn't enough... and yes, I'll be honest: I was expecting at least a Pin/Sanya moment (I loved Sanya!) and much more drama on Prince Kamfah side.
Basically, if they told Granma they were in love directly without running all those ups and downs, the drama would have finished in 4 episodes instead of 12. ^^' Maybe that was why she acted like a wax statue for the whole drama.... otherwise we wouldn't reach 12 episode.
I'm so torn with this series - the story is great AND the actors are so beautiful (also, the two leads are actually acting pretty well!)... the OST is mesmerizing too (the sounds effects are pretty meh). BUT the execution is so messy, I understand they probably didn't have any budget but the different scenes just happen without any smooth transition, I kinda feel frustrated.
And why is Khunkao always pushing Siwat? Poor Siwat is the most good looking human on earth (for real, this boy's face is perfect!), how can you even think about hurting him! T_T
Anyway, despite the flaws, I'm hooked and can't wait to see how things will turn out!
"To Sir, with Love" has basically the same mood of this one: historical setting, a huge "queer secret to hide", shitty parents and the BL couple really rocks! It's very "soap-operish" but it's an incredible series and, although it's almost unbelievable, it does have a happy ending!
"Laws of Attraction" is also from the same channel but is set in contemporary Thailand, it's more modern and action-packed but the feel is always the same "melodramatic mood". Pearl is starring in it too, as a very hot bodyguard! :D
"Century of Love" is one of the best m/m series from this channel and it's really a great one: great acting, great melodrama, great direction and the plot is pretty unique too! That one is a must!
In each and every episode, starting from 1 till 11 (and I'm sure tomorrow wile watching 12 I'll say the same), I must SCREAM at that intolerable grandma. There must be a twist to her. I swear if by the end of the series she doesn't take the wig off, I'll..... ARGH!

right? because in BR both MuYu and ChengHe are still underlings and not head of the clan and patriarch respectively, so I suppose the fight to obtain these roles will happen during this drama; in DY they are already in their positions but they still look young, and in Blood of Youth they're older so I suppose there's about 15/20 years between the events in Blood River and the events in Blood of Youth?

Anyway, I do agree many actors (actresses, mainly, tbh) in here look like they had either too much makeup or too much CGI on their noses/wrinkles/skins... I understand make-up but when it's too much it's too much.

I like this casting, I feel like Gong Jun has the elegant and "soft" look that I would expect from the gallant-forced-killer character that MuYu is. He basically is, and looks, like a fish out of water and that's fine with the role.
Oh, wow - the trailer looks amazing, and I see no romance which for me is a biiiiig plus! So hopefully this will be all fighting/secrets/travels/conspiracies.... but I'm not really sure I have the strenght to follow another ongoing wuxia, so I'll probably put it on hold until Blood River is finished (and some feedbacks and reviews start coming).

I loved the first 5 episodes, everyone looks so good in their roles and the costumes rock! I also like the darkish vibe and all the fighting scenes - although some of them are a bit confusing.
I'm finishing bingewatching TBOY too, and just one question: how many years apart are the two series? About 15 am I correct? So the Tang Lian Yue we see here is TBOY's Tang Lian's martial master, right?
I'm planning to also watch Dashing Youth when I finish these two series, because I'm really liking this universe... but is there somewhere like a timeline/infographic or a lore run-through? Because there are definitely SO MANY things and people to keep track of. XD
Sidenote, I can understand the people saying Muyu doesn't look like a bad guy, but that's because he just isn't - I'm also watching TBOY and Su Mu Yu is actually a very interesting character in there too, although limited to some secondary appearances. Gong Jun's SMY is a torn character, the fact that his first spoken line in this drama is "Why do I wield a sword?" let us understand this: he's not a bad guy, he's a loyal soul forced to be an assassin to save/protect/keep a promise. His collected/cold/emotionless attitude is the distance he needs as a front to appear untouchable.
Can't wait for next episodes!

I think for these dramas everything is more choreographed than actually fight... anyway, his acting in WOH as Wen KeXing was great, so I really can't wait to see him again portraying a layered, contradictory, structured anti-hero character!
Ep20 and I am loving Chuhe more and more, he's such an interesting character, sassy and witty and fun, but with such an elegant and majestic aura!
It's the first time I'm watching Li Hong Yi as an actor and I really like how he portrays the prince, his timing is perfect both in intense and comedic scenes, and his subtle interactions are always on point!
Sidenote ----- WHYYYYYY Zhao Yu Zhen, was that really needed? Writers I hate you! T_T

Anyway, another great episode - I can totally understand Than and I hope they don't just make him fall and lose all his morality out of love because I love how his character is "THE" good cop in a world of sh!t and bad guys, but still he can rock and act on his instincts.
Offroad is incredibly goodlooking in this series, I just can't stop staring at him (although Daou is unbeatable in those tank tops....)
And, I love how Nat always nails these iconic roles! XD
