Ok, now THIS was one great story, I wasn't expecting to get so much into it and yet it's a 10/10.
I'm usually not a fan of korean series, for various reasons (mostly cinematography-wise), but I must admit that when they go for it, they can really excel and create amazing stories & characters that hit hard, deep and often in a timeless way.
This drama did everything well, from directing choices to dialogues to acting to music... but what made it unforgettable are all the characters, both main and secondary roles. All the characters are people, real, vivid, at times funny and at (most) times dramatic: they are all like blades that cut through life, showing you how torn, fragmented, desperate and yet happy life can be. Somehow everything feels like a greek tragedy, BUT with real people acting as characters.
The main lead was impressive, he showed such a vast range of emotions both through his face expressions, body language and voice tones... I hope this drama wins everything it can win, because both the cast and the crew deserve recognition.
And also, we need more series like this one: not "a BL with actors filling their roles" (and to add, I wouldn't label this as a BL honestly), but good stories with a great cast and a great plot to show all the shades and shapes of life and love.
I never hear anyone say anything negative about Sammy's characters, but I pretty much hate them all because they're…
I agree. I love her: she's an energy bomb, so positive and crazy and fun... but just like Earth, she always gets typecasted and she never has the opportunity to really "act a character" instead of only "act a type of character". :(
This drama is way better than many BLs out there: it has a very interesting plot, nice characters, good acting (although I liked Mae's performance way more than Christine's), and there are no unnecessary crazy shenanigans. The only thing I'd say is that it felt a bit disconnected: as often happens, they coudl have managed time better (funny, in such a series!) and expand the second part a bit more than the first.
That said, it's probably one of the best GLs I've watched up to now... it's almost a crime that this has a 7.8 rating while "The Secret of Us" has 8.3...
Just one question: the final 10mins at the end are "needed" for one of the future GLs set in the same universe as this one?
Let's be real, when this show previewed, all we focused on was the word Kidnap, well at least I did. It started…
Love this comment, and agree with it - I love OhmP as an actor, although he's so young he already has an amazing range and he has been showing great "chemistry" with all his co-stars, be it in a love relationship or be it as friends/family/enemy.
Honestly I'm happy he's in GMMTV because it means he'll get many other roles, but at the same time I'm a bit sad because I know he'll have to be part of a "fanservice mechanic" that might negatively affect his future roles.
As for the series perse, quality-wise is amazing and I'm glued to OhmP and OhmT performances, but it lacks a spark... it flows, but it doesn't capture me. But again, we're starting to see some amazing products coming out of Thailand lately, so the standard is pretty high nowadays.
For some reason I think the butler guy has something to do with Home's Grandpa death
Yes he's super fishy! What I think is, what if the Uncle can see ghosts too? And he's been seeing Grandpa's ghost since the beginning, but he doesn't have the power to actually act or change things so he had to wait for Home to act...
Both Yin and War have really improved so much as actors through the years... they are rocking their roles in every little scene.
Aran looked so cute in this episode! And honestly, Rose too. I hope she gets a happy ending because she deserves it - she has a great heart, it's clear she doesn't really know a lot of things on how the world goes, but she is trying her personal best to learn.
I missed Pee, I need at leat five mins each episode with a psycho Hope! :(
On a sidenote: I'm loving the slowburn, both Jack and Joker had difficult lifes, never knowing romantic love, and they are slowly trusting each other, flirting from episode one but too shy/proud/unsure on how to connect as lovers. Still, their scenes speak volumes!
Ohm Pawat just rocks. He's one damn actor. And he has chemistry with whatever he touches, even that surfboard…
(That said, this episode was kinda weak... I know the plot isn't the best out there, and to be honest I loved watching both big Ohm and small Ohm living their country life... but what will we get in the next episodes? Uhm.)
Okay....change of subject............my FB is flooded with MewTul engagement photos...they look great in white…
Tul never came out officially before MewTul couple announcement this summer, but throughout the years he has always been spreading positivity, integration, equality messages on LGBT themes. So he was clearly an ally, but never openly said anuything else. I've always loved his positive communication, he's such a great person and I'm so so happy he's found happiness.
Max and Tul are the greatest of friends and they said that multiple times throughout the years, their relationship is just friendship + work. They both helped and supported each other in bad times too.
I'm so torn on this one... I understand the idea of the Saneha stories to talk about stories and issues that deal with LGBT themes, but this definitely needed more than 2eps.
Also, I support the fact of casting a famous actor as a main lead to attract views, BUT as much as I love Tul (both as an actor and as a person), I found him to be not the best choice for this role. I'm sure he gave it his all, but for sure he showed us better performances in other series.
Anyway: it's still a very nice watch, especially thanks to all the secondary characters (Caaaannnndy!)... I loved Dew, such a green flag!
I know this may be nitpicking but doesn't thailand have universal healthcare? So why does Jack have to pay hospital??
I think the point might be "how fast" the public health system can act.
Like for example in Italy there is universal healthcare, but an emergency public visit may even take months to get scheduled so in the end: if you're poor you wait for the public system, if you're rich you pay a private doctor and go first.
(I remember 13y ago when I was pregnant I had a severe issue that might have caused the fetus to have problems... the public system scheduled my emergency visit after 6 months and by that time my son would have already been born... so in the end i payed 160€ for a private visit that took place the next day).
Gmmtv has like approximately 17 bl ships and 4 gl ships now. Many ships with little projects available to offer...…
To be honest, I felt like getting 2 dramas for both OffGun and TayNew in a short amount of time was a sign of "they're getting old, let's make a final rush before they withdraw from BL ship's world".
I really really love the four of them (can't wait to see them in January in Italy!), but it's starting to be family time for them too, so I'm so worried this might happen... :( And, since "BL for mature audience" usually means "BL with NC scenes" for GMMTv, my hopes of getting real plots for them is growing thinner and thinner.
(I know this might sound pessimistic, but I'm 37yo and I'm still crying over Arashi disbanding four years ago... XD)
Tip; try to ignore the many versions comments. xD "Nang Nak" is a Thai literary and folk legend. Depending on…
If MDL will ever have an option to pin a comment on top of a page, here it should be yours. It's like "Pinocchio" for Italians, or "A Christmas Carol" for english-speakers... so many different adaptations were made during the years, each and every one with a different take on the story and characters!

I just finished bingewatching and I'm out of words, it was such an amazing journey!
