Finally caught up to ep 33; the transition to a romantic stage for our leads was done nicely. I was curious whether there would be some heroic act on the ML part that led to a dramatic confession, but how it was executed in the end was actually better with how smooth it was. I also like how the familial dynamics are changing for the FL in the Duke's household. He is still one of the best dads in dramaland. If only they found each other sooner!
Lin Mao could pluck literal stars from the sky and I still won't ship this cp
Same here. I just don't like that couple. I still wish the drama wrote YiXiu's love story differently so that there is no speculation of possible eating disorders...etc, and the outcome is simply the girl who unexpectedly got the prince.
I am catching up on all the episodes to be ready for the express drop! Even though the FL had to suffer a bit, I am happy with the events that unfolded so far until ep 30.
Seeing the villain get her punishment was satisfying, but I feel bad and happy for her children at the same time. I hope that Shen Jia Rou gets her karma but at least it gave YiYu more insight about who stayed true to her. It also paved the way for YiXiu and Shan to seek their own happiness.
I hope Yining's former father is enjoying eating his humble pie and, hopefully, would be a better father to the rest of his kids. He also needs to appreciate his first wife more.
I like Yining's real father - he is in a powerful position that can back Yining up, he's so earnest and sweet to her. Just that adopted daughter seems like trouble and I am not sure about the new Grandmother. These matriarchal families can either be a big negative or a positive, depending on how bitchy the women are.
Now that the big secret is out, I look forward to the leads' relationship transitioning to a romantic one. I am very curious to see how the show will do that. Hopefully, that will happen between ep 31 - 33.
Ah, LJX is one persistent nutjob but I still like watching him spiral into more craziness.
Sounds like I binge-watched up to the recent episodes just in time for the express to drop! LJX is so toxic but…
I actually noticed him in "Forever and ever" and "Blue Whisper". He was the "good" guy in those dramas and I liked his characters in both. I actually don't remember "Pledge of Allegiance" and " A Date with the Future" that well since I put those on hold. I don't remember seeing him as a stalker character but I hope he doesn't get typecast!
Lol - I really like Geum Hui's fantasy - the two actors, Kim Sung Ryung and Kim Won Hae are such great veteran actors and really bring their all to their roles here. The husband looked so comfortable in his red slip!
I finally finished the last episode now that Season 2 is out. The romance part is nothing noteworthy, and the tag "slight romance" was fitting. Still, the relationship between the leads, no matter cursory, was still sweet even though the development of it left much to one's imagination.
What's more touching was the everlasting love of a mother who never forgot her child and her beloved husband, and in return, the sacrifices the child and husband made to save her.
Surrounding this familial subplot is the overall theme of the Koreans rebelling and managing a small triumph over the Japanese's audacity and monstrous actions. I cannot speak much about the historical reality but for me, the main story was interesting and engaging. I liked the visual effects and the creation of the monster was done well.
I would recommend this show for those looking for something different and experimental. Warning that there are some violent scenes and may be triggers for some people.
I don't think that badly of him. I am just annoyed with him for the harsh words he said to Anong. I still feel…
I completely agree with you! I am so annoyed with him about what he said to Anong and how hypocritical he was during their argument. I’m hoping that he will have some character development in the next episodes.

True, but the choices we make are the outcomes of many things, including circumstances, external pressures, peoples' reactions, and our own perceptions of ourselves. Even what we think of ourselves is influenced by how people treat us. I would say that his mom, brother, his father who made him promise to take care of the family, and his brother-in-law who made him promise to take care of Choi, Nid and Chantorn have asked a lot from him and made him feel that he had to make the choices he did. He did take on a lot of responsibilities but I think it is because of those people that he felt he had to do so. The mother can say what she wants now but it was clear from the beginning before her 180 degree change that she was applying so much pressure on him.
Can’t help to notice your pfp have so many nose closed up😅. Charming.Yeah the next two ep will be a little…
Ah, that's music to my ears when you said that the misunderstanding will be resolved quickly. I just want them to be happy together even if there is a whole mess going on around them. I detest YueQin now - I was giving him so much benefit of the doubt but he's been so disappointing.
My pfp is the scene from the river but because of how MDL displays the picture, all we see are the noses - LOL. I will change it once I get another good one of the couple :)
Also, in episode 11, Wichai keeps asking Anong about her messages to confirm that what she wrote was true. It’s…
You're right, the show did try to add some drama by showing misleading scenes that were not consistent with the overall flow of the plot.
I thought the build-up was nicely done to show how pent-up Wichai's feelings were and the kiss was a nice release for him :D
I hope the same too that he will not disappoint us and Anong. I am prepared for a few more episodes but I hope we don't have to wait until the last episode to see him fight for Anong. So many lakorns do that so I hope this one will be different.
