I rated this higher than usual because of the leads and their chemistry. The ML was so freaking hot and the FL was lovely. The push pull dynamics between them was engaging. There were the usual bad guys including scheming family members and thugs but the major plot twist when it comes to the ultimate villain was definitely interesting. Messy plot that dragged on a bit too long for me but still worth a watch. Even though the bad guys kept coming back, the good guys managed to triumph most of the time.
I absolutely love this couple. Yaya is gorgeous and perfect for the spunky FL character. Tor pairs so well with her and I cannot wait to see the ML fall for the FL!
Episode 28 is the start; it peaks at a later episode though with something that happened with her master.
Thanks! Sigh...I thought I was prepared for it but am reluctant to start that episode. Maybe I will wait until the episode they reconcile and I will binge watch again.
Hi there! Yes, I have been watching older dramas to trim back my "Currently Watching" list :D But I am getting back into the new ones. Did you enjoy the first two episodes of this show?
Binge-watched from ep 13 to ep 25, and I thoroughly enjoyed the progression between Jiang Ci and Wei Zhao. I wondered how these two true enemies could evolve and get past their complicated emotional baggage to love each other. After seeing their journey unfold, I’m completely invested in their story. At first, I thought the show was trying too hard to portray JC as a pure, naive, principled FL, but the more I watched her, the more I liked her. I have liked WZ from the beginning and have never quite warmed up to PY. Perhaps I should feel more sorry for him given his upbringing and his mother but I don't :D Excellent acting from all three!
Defintely not the light hearted romance and not really melodrama. In first few ep., you have ML trying to kill…
Thanks! Ah, so it will be angsty for WZ in ep 10 too. I don’t know enough about PY’s backstory yet but I’m totally on team WZ. He carries the weight of his people and revenge!
Eight years later, I finally watched this show and enjoyed it very much! Like most people, it was the romance and chemistry between the lead actors, as well as the bromance between the ML and SML, that engaged me from start to end. Folks looking for a medical or military show will likely find the story too thin in those genres, but the action scenes were cool, and the hospital scenes were good distractions between the leads' flirty scenes. The romance between the secondary couple was not that interesting to me, but they were cute. However, 16 episodes felt too draggy, and we didn't need the last couple of episodes to conclude the show. Still, it was great just crushing on Song Joong Ki during those 16 episodes, and I really liked watching his interactions with Song Hye Kyo. They paired well together, and it's too bad they didn't work out as a couple in real life. Overall, I do recommend this show - it's definitely entertaining.

Thanks! Sounds like I could really get into this show. I like both ML actors and it would be great to see them play “grey” characters, pitting their skills against each other!
Waited for the show to reach its midpoint before starting. How is it so far? Is it more melodrama with politics in focus or is it on the lighter side with romance being the highlight?
