Caught up to ep 7. Entertaining but very predictable. Looks like Seven Tan likes playing this kind of role with the same type of ML. I dislike the direction they are taking with the boyfriend and good friend. Leaves a bad taste for some reason.
LR has never been taught love. Instead she was brought up to only know to guard her heart and love is equivalent…
Remember she had a flashback of her mum telling her that in the face of power that all love and affection is fleeting. Followed by the flashback of PWX letting her think that he had QZZ in his heart even though he showed that he had feelings for her. I’m not surprised that she had reservations. However, by the end of this latest episode, no one should have any doubts about how she feels for PWX

When she ordered his death, she thought that he had poisoned her. She wouldn’t have done that if she didn’t think it was him who wanted to kill her first.
Agree! I think the lead characters complement each other well. Sometimes too well that they thought they knew…
haha - Yes, they both thought so highly of each other's intelligence that they assumed that the other side guessed exactly what they wanted to do. Truly an unfortunate misunderstanding for that buttercup incident.
I like how PWX and LR balance each other nicely. PWX is the voice of reason when LR gets impatient or angry and she is the strength when he needs it.
PWX knows that LR is politically stronger than him, and he accepts it but there is also the part of him that wants to be stronger so that he can protect her. And he has been doing that, maneuvering behind the scenes to get her what she wants and getting back at people who wronged her. Like getting the Emperor to punish Consort Rou (although her poor daughter got the brunt of it)
LR is more obvious, declaring her protection of him and demanding that people respect him as her Prince Consort. I love how she helped him get back at the Pei family, retrieve his inheritance and make his mother see the error of her ways.
When it comes to emotions, PWX is braver and bolder in declaring his feelings whereas LR shows it through her actions (just like how Shangguan Ya observed).
At this point, I am so glad that PWX has vented his frustrations and that helped LR see that he does love her and that she could return those feelings. Her baby steps are getting bigger :D
Totally agree! I wish we could have heard him play with the wind blowing in his hair. It was so gratifying to…
You're right...I think they are missing the point of the story which is the chance to redo things. They probably want the FL to be a Mary Sue from the beginning, a character who have not done anything wrong, and instead was only betrayed.
most viewer didn't hate fl. they are more like disgusting.
I never claimed she was innocent and pure in her past life. I am saying that whatever both leads did in their past lives, I am not judging their present selves. They are both learning and moving on. That's the whole point of the story with this second chance opportunity.
most viewer didn't hate fl. they are more like disgusting.
Of course it is all connected but for me, the important part is they are learning from the ugly events and learning to avoid it in the past. PWX is doing the right thing by trying to get over the past and moving forward and he is successfully teaching LR to do the same.
I especially don't think she forced PWX to give her the open right to cheat in the past. She did overreact by asking for her divorce but he could have told her right there that he had no feelings for QZZ. Instead, he led her to believe that he still had QZZ in his heart. He admitted that divorce would not be good for either one but he also agreed to separate and live their own lives. At that time, she was not with SRQ yet. She only saved him.
Again for me, I am focused on the present.
I no longer see that closeness and feelings that her present self for SRQ especially in the recent episodes. She was wavering in the beginning, earlier episodes when PWX himself was pushing her towards SRQ, saying that she should not miss her second chance.
In the rain/umbrella scene, she explained to PWX why she was staring at SRQ and I thought that was an honest genuine response which did not indicate any true feelings for SRQ.
In ep 18, she repeatedly rejected SRQ's gifts after people thought PWX was dead. Just because she didn't say anything when SRQ proposed marriage didn't mean she was encouraging him or even considering it. For me, she was very measured with SRQ in the present life because she was like that with people she did not trust. She asked her questions deliberately and listened whenever she wanted to figure out their motivations and her next steps. There was no indication at all that she had given up on PWX. Also don't you think the show was deliberating creating tension by putting in all this silent pauses before the big reveal of PWX returning?
As for not letting him know of his plans, you yourself said, she was trying to save him. Agree that there was a bit of a noble idiocy there but they BOTH misunderstood. She thought he knew about her plans and was trying to help her, so she told him to do a good job. She truly thought that he knew. So sadly, they did communicate but it was still a misunderstanding.
Hopefully the majority of the angry people can rewatch what happened in that episode and maybe understand better how the plot developed.
Ultimately ep 21 showed that she is learning her lessons. In fact, I find it understandable that she is learning from her past and learning to be more cautious.

Exactly, if the ML ended being with someone else in the past, that's his choice. I wouldn't judge him like the way I am not judging LR now.
I am focused on how they are learning from their mistakes in the past and making good progress in their present lives.
If in a later episode, the ML explains what he saw and why he withdrew from the relationship, it would only serves as an explanation to the FL why he reacted the way he did in the past. And hopefully lead to better understanding between the two.
I don't think she was leaning towards SRQ in the second life. She showed initial interest when PWX was pushing…
In Ep 18, I did not see it as her not wanting to hurt him. In fact, just because she did not immediately say anything doesn't mean anything. How was she supposed to stop SRQ from proposing when she did not even know what he was going to say.
For me, she was very measured with SRQ in the present life but she was also like that with people she did not trust. She asked her questions deliberately and listened whenever she wanted to figure out their motivations and her next steps.
She was not like that with PWX or even Shangguan Ya or QZZ, because she trusts them so she can share her emotions more easily.
I don't remember her proposing to him in her past life and the certainty that they will marry in the past life. SRQ and her only got together after she saved him. She was not even thinking about SRQ when she proposed divorce to PWX. She proposed divorce after PWX gave her the impression that he still had QZZ in his heart.

So what?
About the conversation between FL and her older past self, we all knew that she had feelings for SRQ and was with him but that was after she gave up on PWX and after they both agree to live separate lives.
During the ML scene, yes PWX did say they were just snuggling up to each other but that also implied nothing more. Of course that can be considered as emotionally cheating but again AFTER they agreed not to interfere in each other's lives.
The most important point though is that that was all in the past, and even if in ep 35, the ML confirmed that he saw them, it was the PAST. Both PWX and LR made mistakes and choices that led to the demise of their marriage.
I am supporting the present LR who has not done anything scandalous and cheering for the 2nd chance given to her and PWX. So far their progression in the relationship makes sense and there was a breakthrough.
If PWX can get over the past and tries to make this second chance work, I don't know why the viewers cannot do so.

Some of the comments were extreme and hateful that it should be obvious to a normal person that the comments were more nonsensical than anything else.

If they wanted to judge them for the past, then it is not just LR who made mistakes. PWX has to share some of the blame.
