I’m pleasantly surprised by this show. The story isn’t original but unlike most dramas about the fall and rise of the FL with the focus on her, this show strikes a nice balance between the leads. The ML is not overly domineering and he is not a simp for the FL. The FL is a strong character but she is with flaws, leaving room for character development.

Both Seven and Xu Kai are portraying their characters well!

I actually didn't see him as being petty during that scene. I liked it because he was determined not to be passive anymore. That said, your explanation heightened my appreciation of that scene. Thank you!

SRQ is the clingy SML who thinks that everything the FL does is because she still thinks of him...

True but I guess they stuck to the timeline in the novel and rushed through this part in the drama. Oh well, at least this part is done and we can move on to the real romance :D

That's the thing - I don't accept his POV. In any normal relationship, especially marriage, one person will no doubt become a bystander when life happens. The other person will take a backseat when work becomes stressful for example.

If he cannot deal with not being her focal point all the time, then yeah, JX is not the right person for him.

Can't he understand thst JX needs emotional support as well? He may not be able to help her with her endeavors but he could be there just for her. Just like when he was away for such a long business trip, but they stayed connected just listening to each other.

You're right, the show rushed through the break up which is probably why the BF's actions felt too abrupt to me. I am going to read the novel so that I can be sympathetic to his situation :D

Perhaps more unrealistic and unable to see beyond what he wants to see. He doesn't understand that if he can try to change what's to come, why can't LR try to change her outcome with PWX? If he knows her well, he must know that LR did have feelings for PWX in the past.

SYC is a main character though, so I guess we will still see him around.

It was selfish because he didn’t even give them a chance to talk it out. Just like that after 4 years, he decided that they were not on the same path and ended it by blindsiding her.
Overall I agree that they should break up now before getting married. But the way he did it was simply in bad form. It’s like breaking up with someone via text or on a post it note.

I am usually tired of women getting drunk scenes but JX was too darn cute! And the three guys so well coordinated 😁

True - I just commented that I was wondering how they were going to resolve this and am glad that they did not have the Bf cheating with the good friend. Even if the BF’s reasons are jerk-like and selfish, at least it’s not as disgusting as cheating.

Of course we’re all expecting it to happen but we do not have to like the way he broke up with her and his reasons were so selfish.
