What does the emperor see in Consort Rou? A beauty she's not and there's nothing exceptional about her in general other than having given him children.

Eps 25 and 26 were great...finally some understanding for LR...the poor princess was misunderstood for so long. For those of us constantly defending her relationship with PWX, it's a great feeling.
I think the writing is not great for the character of SRQ. It's like the show wants us to feel bad for him because his motivations appeared to be protecting his family and LR. However, I have no sympathy for him at all and he just comes across as delusional, spinning up reasons for himself to justify his actions. Since we are only midway through the show, so I am sure we will see him score points a bit more against the leads but I cannot wait to see how he himself will lead to the downfall of his family.
I actually quite like the Emperor. He's not that blind or stupid.
I love the mums in this show - so modern and progressive. None of the “you spent four years of your life with this guy so don’t waste them by breaking up” nonsense. I hope the grandpa would surprise us in the end too!
I always had a bad feeling about Qiuzi but she hasn't really done anything before except always hovering around the BF which to me was bad enough. Now her slimy side is showing even more...already lying to her good friends. I hope the ex BF will stay hung on JX and not get together with her until the very end.

Yeah, that was a good move by PWX! I guess some people really don't like SRQ and to see him taken down asap. Unfortunately we are just over the halfway point of this show so I think there will more of him to come if he is the main villain.

Most of us just don't want the angst...I would prefer a show where the leads are consistently triumphing over the villains like Blossoms in Adversity. It's a feel good show :D

I cheered all those times when the ML cock-blocked the SML and jeered at him in front of LR and she smiled encouragingly. But I have to admit, since she's acknowledged to the ML that he was her man, she should be more proactive and aggressive in rejecting SRQ. She is also part of the reason why SRQ is so delusional.

I guess I never saw SRQ as being center stage from the beginning. He was benign and more of a plot device to create jealousy. It is only now when he is going all out that I am noticing him more. I am not even annoyed that he is featured more in the show, just that he is so delusional about LR that I want to smack the smirk off his face. Never pitied the guy either since I never trusted him.
The thing is people should stop comparing to the book (which I have not read). The drama should be watched and evaluated in its own right. Perhaps then, folks won't be as dissatisfied when the show deviates from the novel.

True, when LR's uncle was the villain, he was actually pretty boring...there was nothing he did that really stirred up any emotions. And the leads neutralized him and the Shangguan family pretty quickly after their investigations.
SRQ is stirring all the right emotions of irritation from us because he remains delusional, in his own world. We are so annoyed since we want to slap him out of it so badly and wished that LR would just do that :D
People need to calm down...this show is no different from any other show where the villain will take center stage at some point. It's the angsty part as we are building towards the climax where hopefully the leads will triumph over the villain.
In some shows, we keep seeing the villains score points over and over again until the very end when the leads turn things around. At least in this one, it has been a good mix so far.

That makes sense. I could tell that Princess HL was snuggling up to SRQ in the earlier scene. My main point was that SRQ was again delusional when he thought that LR was still thinking about their times together. I think PWX was also right when he teased her about showing off her skills. In any case, she was not reminiscing about SRQ.
