Oh yes, I think if it was a better actor, we would have gotten a great dark villain who is scary because she is truly just evil with no other reason.

I get that the Princess can be a psychopath, and just a sadist but I don't think the actress is delivering that vibe well. Somehow every time I see her face and gestures, it feels too exaggerated and comical.

It’s a short length series so I have lower expectations of character depth :D

If it is well-written, it is better that the show just use the the novel material. Sometimes when the screenwriters try to be creative, they mess it up so badly.

I hope so! So far the sisters seem to be getting away with everything. I hope the sneaky 2nd sister will suffer at the Zhou family's place since Zhou Yan Bang for sure will not be nice to her.

It's interesting that the spoilt brats of the wealthy families were being taken down by their own doing like the Li second brother and oily Zhou Yan Bang. It's not as though Jiang Li deliberately went after them but somehow she indirectly caused their downfalls. So satisfying!

That scene was awesome! Not sure if that came straight out of the novel or the screenwriter added it. Kudos to whoever it is.

This show is all about the women - now there are at least 5 women scheming and aiming against Jiang Li. Poor her - only has her grandmother and Tong'er.

Score 1 for Shen Yu Rong - at least he managed to criticize the Princess during her power tripping. I wonder if anyone else saw what she did when Jiang Li was taking aim.
Then Duke Su came strolling in, scoring another against that deranged woman.

Oh, then the show made him more pitiable
