Up to ep 31 now I’m just waiting for the show to wrap up. It’s been a bit of struggle to stay interested and the show could have finished by now with fewer episodes.

Yeah you’re right, the kids won’t care about what happens to the school but VP Lou, ex principal of Longhai and maybe Sang Xia will care because Gao and Xiao will push the agenda that the low achievers from Longhai should focus on vocational school and not even try for universities. Lei Ming if he has a conscience and pride will care about his declaration.

True, ultimately it really doesn’t matter if it is not QingBei. I’m r would still be an amazing achievement for the kids to get into a good university and in fact, in the responses to the livestreams, many other universities were welcoming them.

However, the whole premise is based on this experiment and wager that Lei Ming and VP Lou started against Principal Gao and the others supporting the elitist idea of education. Thats why Qing Bei is still the focus at this point.

That said, I think the story will evolve to the kids ultimately doing well because they made their own choices and had control over their futures. Qing Bei will be less of a goal and more of an ideal.

So true! It’s becoming better now that the FL is slowly healing but the show did throw everything possible into the mix

Thank you! Very enlightening…the article also stated that there was growing awareness about the negative effects of heavy drinking and that alcohol is the second major reason the the health decline of the population.
I guess it would be nice if the show could also support that campaign and not use drinking as a plot device.

That’s the thing. I am not sure if the drinking culture is that bad in real life or it is an aspect that’s emphasized only in many kdramas. Often times it’s the FL who would drink into oblivion and have blackouts. Secondhand embarrassment seem to be a common plot device.
Drinking may not be glorified in this show but it is used to introduce humor which unfortunately fell flat for me, especially when it involved the niece.
The two other sisters appear to be drinking less now so hopefully Sam Dal will resort to other ways like photography to cope with her stress. Like you said, we will have to wait and see.

So true, the scene where Sam Dal’s niece was frightened by her stumbling in was not funny to me even though it was meant to be comical.

Yeah but we know that Principal Gao and that teacher Xiao is going to use it as leverage. They will be taking his boast literally to advance their own agenda.

Although it would be a blow to their pride since it was so highly publicized, I think it would be fine for the kids as long as they get into the top schools. It’s more the program and Lei Ming’s credibility that are at stake.

I didn’t watch that since I’m not into monster-theme. It looks like he will continue to maintain that gorgeous body since there’s SH 2 & 3 is coming up

Omo…I’m watching ep 5 and I didn’t realize how built Song Kang is. 😯

I’m struggling to finish this. The leads have no chemistry and are not very smart. The story is draggy; I skipped from ep 5 to ep 10 to see if there were any plot progression and seems like I didn’t miss anything.
I hate dropping shows though so I will finish this eventually.

I’m not even going to rant about Hua Shu and Lady Hong because karma’s a bitch and the upcoming episodes are going to give me ultimate satisfaction.
Ep 26 was angsty good. With my two favorite OSTs playing in the background, I actually feel for GJ during his scenes of hopeless searching.
Still he so deserved what Xiu Yan told him. Boy, you still got quite a bit more suffering 😢
At least GJ redeemed himself a little by destroying the first villain.
I guess Hong Yi and Yan Shuang are kind of a couple now, along with their matching couple outfits ☺️
Side note: I love Yuan Qi’s look. His head accessory is sophisticated unlike the ridiculously huge headgear that gods wear in other Xianxia dramas. Same thing about Xiu Yan’s.

If you don’t like slice of life dramas, then it is not for you. For now, there isn’t much plot other than a slow burn rekindling of a romance, a love triangle and some back story of the older generation.
I am enjoying it but I like such genre where one of the leads take the whole show to rediscover themselves
