yeah... finally she was in female attire and then that hairdo?! lol I know it's the hairstyle of the maids, but still it looked weird and I couldn't take her revenge and reunion scene with Chen Qi seriously because of that 😂

I actually like Yi Zhi's goofy character, but sometimes he's just too childish and cringe for me, especially in „romantic“ scenes. He seems like a caricature with his fake laughing and overacting. And let’s be honest… as a General he’s useless. It’s been already 20 eps, but still feels he is just giving orders according to other people’s plans and ideas.


He got his position due to his father and I hoped to see his process of becoming worthy to that position, but nothing yet to see in that department.
I’m disappointed in the lack of character development in ML. And as others already said, I also feel zero chemistry between him and Mai. They feel like bickering siblings to me. I enjoy their interactions, but as a couple, they are not appealing to me.

She has much more chemistry with Chang Yu Qing. It's a shame we've gotten so little scenes or development between these two... Now even their relationship feel rushed, because the writers didn't show us any development and jumped right into it. He suddenly hugged and comforted her and I felt that was awkward, because they are nowhere near friends yet.

Mai's scenes with Chen Qi are also really entertaining and intense. I'm really curious what exactly happened in the past.

Romantically, I like her more with the Beimo guys than the Nanxia guys lol But well, I stopped caring for romance in this drama. The writers are not really good in that part, but I enjoy everything else so far :D

I absolutely loved Pasin! That guy is hooot and the actor is phenomenal! Hope to see him in more roles in the future.

Oh yessss! I'm loving this drama right now! This and Knight Flower are my faves at the moment. And both air on the weekend. I'm soooo happy they don't postpone it because of Lunar New Year. Historical dramas are the best right now ❤️

man... I enjoy this drama so much! I live for the angst and Jo Jeong Suk's acting. He's phenomenal!

The music sometimes reminds me of Titanic and Lord of the Rings 😂

It's understandable that Yin Guo still shies away from physical intimacy. She's pretty young and they actually don't really know each other for that long and have been together for not even a full week. Also Asian society is much more conservative. But even for me as a European, he's quite fast lol
But it's good that Yiyang respects the boundaries she set and pulls back when she is uncomfortable.
So far they are intense hahaha But I hope to see them have more full length conversations as well 😂

I thought her big brother (cousin) would be a hindrance to their relationship. But as of ep 9 he seems to be their biggest silent supporter haha 😂

Just started ep 7... and Meng Xiao Dong made his first appearance in Finland. Damn, that guy is hooooooooot! lol 😂

Mai always saves the day lol And Yi Zhi is our damsel in distress. He would've already died dozen times without her 😂

I liked this drama overall and really, really loved the leads... but it's so disappointing that Jdramas always resort to the exact same ending formular. They write such beautiful characters with natural and beautiful development, just to end it with the same lame ending every time. I just don't get it. Why is it always the same pattern?
Misunderstandings. Horrible communication. Someone flying abroad. Time jump. Last minute reunion.
If I watch a Japanese romance drama, I always know what awaits me. It's the same ending with different characters and stories, but exactly the same pattern. It doesn't even surprise me anymore. It's just disappointing, especially if I loved the couple as much as I did here.

I also didn't like how there was absolutely no consequence for Seira's manipulative behavior in the end. It's like they just had to butcher up her character to force a misunderstanding between the leads. Just for her to correct her mistake, when it was too late. But she didn't even get a slap on the wrist... yes, she is mentally unstable, but why do those characters always never get consequences for their manipulative behavior?

I just think there was so much potential... but well...it was still good, but could've been better.

Did Yi Zhi develop a masochistic liking after Mai held him captive and treated him roughly? lol



YZ: „I don’t know why. You felt like another person and treated me very rude. I felt the tension and excitement.“

Mai: „Sorry, I didn’t tell you. Because I was afraid that you couldn’t handle it well.“

YZ: „Don’t tell me next time. It was not bad.“ Hahaha

Also Mai being creeped out at Yi Zhi making subtle moves on her. „Don’t look at me like that. It’s creepy.“
I'm really enjoying their chaotic dynamic and interactions so far 😄

If the war aspect is as well-made as in the first episodes, then I don't mind if the bigger focus will be on it. Still hope for a good portion of romance or companionship 😊
Maybe they will dive more into romance in the drama to make it more "viewer-friendly" lol

Ah, I see. I didn't read the synopsis or comments yet and went in cold, so I didn't know that. As of now Yi Zhi felt like the ML to me in aspect of screen-time and backstory.

I'm curious how the romance will unfold. The reverse harem with 1 FL and 3 ML reminds me of Lost You Forever and I'm looking forward to it 😊 I still don't have a ML I'm rooting for here, so I hope I won't get my heart broken like in LYF haha 😂

I think everyone was pretty surprised that his character died so early on, because he is a well-known and amazing actor.
But it had a good impact imo, where nothing in this drama is impossible and everything can happen anytime, leaving one on edge, while watching :)
