Thanks for sharing. Aww, goodbye to another great character by ZWY. May he continues to be successful in his craft…
Got it. Though, he didn't get the girl, he's so worth the praises for his role as Cang Xuan. CXZ barely scratch the surface of his potential as an actor. Cang Xuan definitely has more emotional depth and complexity. His aura as Emperor is even more prominent. Sigh...I need to see more of ZWY. π₯ Yeah, I went to watch some of his scenes in LYF.
Ep 3This show has got me bipolar because why was I fuming that he wouldn't take her almost assault seriously simply…
Yep, this show will do that to you. Later there's a scene when he went off to war. It will make you bipolar too. One minute, you'll cry because it's touching. Then next minute, you'll laugh. I'm talking about episode 13.
Great review. π This is so entertaining even with the flaws. ZWY is amazing and he made me love CXZ. As for WCR, she was ok as LMT. The script and her character kind a lost me in the second half. I thought the other couples were a bit forced but I really liked the Empress. I rated this 8.5 as well. See you around.
Agreed! Zhang Wan Yi is so amazing in giving off that strong royalty aura. His role as CX in LYF is more compelling…
For CX, I'm glad ZWY took the challenge to do comedy. Yes, let's see what other roles he will do. I saw him in Fantastic Doctors as a genius doctor with Asperger's syndrome. He gave off the innocent vulnerable character.
Zhang Wan Yi is so regal omg. The way he is so proper and elegant looks so natural, like he was born with noble…
Agreed! Zhang Wan Yi is so amazing in giving off that strong royalty aura. His role as CX in LYF is more compelling and complex than CXZ. Out of the 2 characters, CX is more memorable for me.
Great and fair review. I enjoyed reading your views. I really love watching Zhang Wanyi and I'm glad he decided on something different and try light comedy. I think he did a fairly good job. I agreed that the writing of LMT character was really lacking and Wang Churan has lot of room for improvement. Her portrayal of LMT during their separation really took me out of their love story. She wasn't able to convey complex emotions. As for Shi Xueji, she really grew on me and I was rooting for her. She's so likeable. She has a kind heart, inner strength and wisdom.
Seriously, I felt bad for her as well but I'm still able to discern their situation. I feel that the extreme hate on the ML was unjust. Both are grey characters. Throughout the lies, we see him being conflicted. Then later he sincerely apologized to her. Overall, ML had good character growth. I have no problem with her being angry and cold to him. She needs time to reflect on herself and relationship. My problem is there wasn't enough show of emotional conflict on her part to the viewers nor the love even in her private moments. We mostly got the cold and I don't care vibes. Writer failed to connect the dots on her character after the breakup.
