Maybe you're right and Japanese adaptations suck in general, I haven't actually watched any, aside from couple of trailers. Chinese... I think it depends. I think this one is pretty good in terms of quality, but I have not read the novel, so it's just a drama for me. Also for me, personally, Chinese anime so far is kind of so so. I can't stand 3d at all, and 2d most of them are just sooo weird and sometimes make no sense at all.

Oh, God... Attack on titan... I have nothing against gore, but anime was already graphic enough for me, I don't think I can watch live action. I also tried watching Bleach live action trailer, but the orange wig... omg, I can't... it was so funny. If they made Psycho pass live adaptation though, I might check that out.
That's what I was thinking. I saw some comments about the OST being disneyish, and then this picture... best kind of promotion and I don't think they were even trying

I think, sometimes it's just about what you've seen first and got used to. I don't even want to try watching live adaptations of some of my favorite anime, I've checked out the trailers and they looked sooo weird to me. But with this one it's the other way around.
Everybody kept saying the anime is better, but I've watched almost 30 episodes and I still think the drama is…
I watched couple of scenes from animation, not even the beginning, somewhere where TS is already an adult and I couldn't even take it seriously, because of the whole 3d thing. After fluid 2d anime, that I used to watch a lot of, 3d looks stiff and robotic, like a cheap video game. And the colors... it's really not for me, I prefer something more muted and natural. And also what you said about the ML being to OP, that seems kinda boring, not sure if it's worth it to even force myself.
After finishing this drama, I still don't get why Tang San's dad told him to win the final fight? Then they'd…
His dad didn't tell him to participate in the contest. Shi Nian did, pretending that it was Tang San's dad who was behind the conspiracy, but he actually wasn't
I read the story this is based of, it has been years so I can't even remember how far I got. So I was so surprised…
They said there will be (the production company), but no one is filming anything yet and with the speed of c-dramas it might be another two years before it comes out.
If Wu yelling out 'TANG SAN' regularly gets your goat to this extent, I have to warn you there is this one thing…
Oh, I thought you already finished, because you had the advanced VIP. I don't see anything wrong with him doing season 2, a lot of very talented actors do this kind of things for fun and money, in between more serious projects. They also might have pulled a "marvel" on him and made him sign a contract for at last two seasons (he was a newbie at the time), who knows. We certainly don't and no one will tell us :)) I don't know about replacing one or two actors, but if they'll get whole new cast, even with XZ it would be weird. They probably would have focused on him more if he was the big star at the time, but we might have gotten one-dimensional supporting characters, so idk if it would have been better. The Master thing was absolutely unnecessary, but very much appreciated LOL I liked last five episodes, not going to elaborate, so as not to spoil :) I still stand by my preference that they leave romance out as much as possible, it feels forced in this drama.

It's very well written and I admire him for doing that. But at the same time it appalling that this is the world we live in today, where the person who did nothing wrong has to apologize to the people who attack him.
What do you mean by that? If you don't like anything just leave simple but you have no right to talk like this…
I think it's better not to react to comments like that. The person is obviously venting or just plain writing to get a reaction. I'm not saying you're wrong, because comments about someone's appearance are just nasty and have nothing to do with the drama, but it's better to just ignore.
Not sure how other sites translated it but on WeTV he said that she's his lover. I personally didn't mind but…
You're right. What he said basically translates as "beloved person" or something similar (not a native English speaker, sorry). But it can be translated as lover, so wetv probably just went with the easiest one.
I'm scalping SRSLY!!!! I can't wait no more to see my queen and king ughhh.. Now that Douluo has ended will they…
It hasn't ended though, only for VIP's and people watching on TV in China. Just like they waited to release DC until Legend of Fei ended for free users, they would probably wait to release this until DC ends for free users. So middle of March.
They will hopefully improve. Quite simply when the drama started it was pretty low budget, I guess with the inclusion…
Yes, I think they really tried to make it for anyone, rather than relying on novel fans. Not sure if it would have worked without XZ's popularity, but it's possible. Though I think CCTV thing came later, but the "wholesomeness" probably was a big factor for that to happen :)
What does that number mean, can you explain please? I tried googling, but didn't find anything.
I found an explanation on douban in discussion: It calculates the drama's network-wide discussion degree, netizens interaction, media exposure, Internet word-of-mouth and other factors. There's no explanation how exactly it's counted, but basically it's the hype level. My guess is they take all the above about all the dramas and then calculate the share of each drama.

Yeah, I hope so too. Maybe they will look at the feedback too (not ours of course, but you know, in China). It's obvious that they put a lot of effort into it, maybe fighting was just low priority.
My only biggest disappointment in this series is the fight scene.. The actors displays a little of their power…
I can :) While I love this drama, they really f up the fight scenes. There's just not enough action in them and a lot of standing around. I liked the one in the last episode though.
