There's a rumor that ABAY might be airing on January 30th; no idea how credible this is:https://twitter.com/tansongyun26/status/1747608396680106294
Btw, I think it might be good if both SF6 and ABAY air together. I don't think there will be any CP wars. Those who like SF6 will probably be more focused on warring with SF4 fans. I can already see the sparks flying there.
Xu Kai is going on Hello Saturday 31st Jun but its for his another drama ABAY. Don’t know if he will promote…
I think he might promote both the dramas there. ABAY specifically because Seven Tan is also going that day. High chances that it's going to be released soon as well.
I was just going through Novel Updates -- a site to browse all Asian novels that are translated -- Of thousands of c-novels in straight romance (I'm saying straight romance because there are also BL and GL romances), there are hardly 20 novels that have rating 4.7/5 or higher. As Beautiful As Beijing is one of them. Another interesting fact is that none of those that are rated 4.7 or higher are CEO novels, the only exception being As Beautiful As Beijing. In fact, you won't find CEO novels in 4.6 or higher-rated novels either. A few can be found in 4.4 and 4.5.
This is why I say this drama's source material is so strong.
I heard rumor of cp6 airing date of Jan 18 before any announcement of cp4. Someone was telling me cp4 won't air…
After Iqiyi announces CP4 airing date, I want Tencent to pull a twist and announce ABAY to air instead lol. Then use CP4 and ABAY's popularity to announce CP6 release after they end. But I guess, Tencent may not be that smart.
Usually top actors I feel do less heated bed scenes as mentioned in the novels. In novels they describe the love…
Forget c-dramas, nowadays, even Chinese novels will have to gloss over the bed scenes because of restrictions (at least on most reputable sites, from what I gather), lol. As Beautiful As Beijing was one of last few novels that managed to escape these new restrictions.
Honestly that’s what happed to RTH. I really liked the novel but the plot was slow. I think it’s bc there’s…
Only for Love is based on Accidental Love novel. Accidental Love's author did not write As Beautiful As Beijing. But Only for Love screenwriter, Yang Qian Zi, is the screenwriter of ABAY.
I have said it before, and I will say it again, Only for Love flopped because it had a very weak source material. It didn't deserve a drama adaptation, much less have top stars like Dylan Wang and Bai Lu act in it. The screenwriter can't do much to save it, tbh.
Yang Qian Zi was also the screenwriter of The Legends (The Legends is also an adaptation of a novel called Ostentatious Zhao Yao. The author of this novel had many other novels adapted into dramas recently. Love Between Fairy And Devil, Back From The Brink, Love You Seven Times), which I happened to like a lot. It was well written, just had some editing issues in the last 4-5 episodes. Not the fault of the screenwriter. I see that the screenwriter, Yang Qian Zi, is also writing screenplay for The White Olive Tree starring Chen Zhe Yuan. This drama is also an adaptation of Jiu Yue Xi's novel of the same name. Jiu Yue Xi is the author of As Beautiful As Beijing, btw.
Awww that's harsh. He's just a young punk bumbling about in love. We've all been there 🥲
How I wish he was just a young punk. He isn't though. Although he is younger than FL and ML, he is still someone who already graduated and should be around 25 or 26 something.
I have a feeling that Tencent might be planning to release ABAY as soon as CP6 is finished airing. It could be…
I also want to watch ABAY asap! But I think it would be better if CP6 releases first. Chinese Paladin is a very big IP in China, and will bring a lot of attention to the main leads. This attention can be carry forwarded to ABAY if it releases as soon as CP6 is done airing.
So there's a chance both seven and xukai will promote for their drama ABAY? That would be nice if they're promoting…
CP war is a possibility, but it will also bring a lot of attention to both the dramas.
I personally don't want the CP war. The last time Xu Kai had two dramas release at the same time (ALP and FIYS), fortunately, there was no CP war. I'm hoping for the same now.

Chinese Paladin 6 (Sword and Fairy) -- Xu Kai filmed this drama right before he filmed for ABAY, and now both are set to release back to back, hopefully.
What KimYeJin suggested. And few more below:1. Don't Turn From Summer -- This novel is the most similar to As Beautiful…
Oops, I made a mistake with the last novel name. I just edited my post, please check again.
I seem to always confuse between [Starlight Has No Past] & [Downstairs 249, Upstairs 251]. Downstairs 249, Upstairs 251 is also a very good novel, if you want to read it.
can anyone tell me some novels to similar to this ?
What KimYeJin suggested.
And few more below:
1. Don't Turn From Summer -- This novel is the most similar to As Beautiful As Beijing. However, unlike Han Ting, whom most of us readers like, the ML in this novel can be unlikable, like really really unlikable. It is not fully translated though (98 chapters out of 125 have been translated).
2. Nuptial Chamber Next Door -- Again, you might not like ML in this one in the beginning. But once you know the full picture, you will change your mind.
3. Don’t Fall In Love With The Boss -- They already made a drama adaptation of this novel, Legally Romance. But the drama adaptation does not stand a chance against the novel. So so good.
4. Arrogant Meets Passionate -- Han Ting and the ML in this novel have bit of similarities. Both were casual in their relationships before they meet FL.
5. Starlight Has No Past -- All the novels I suggested, with the exception of Don’t Fall In Love With The Boss, are very mature and realistic romances that can happen in real life. This novel is also like that.
Honestly this! they need to remind me as well, why aren't they together/ FL isn't reciprocate/open to ML feelings…
I agree. But as I said, I can get behind this analysis. There was this c-novel, Kiss of Venus, I had just finished re-reading it (3rd time, I think), and it had a similar situation between FL and ML. FL broke up with ML so that they could pursue their dreams without any constraints. Three years later, they meet each other again. The difference in this novel story is that, after a bit of getting to know each other again, they end up having a one-night stand on FL's birthday. ML goes to take bath and FL decides to accept whatever ML says after he comes out from the bath --- Take it as just a one-night stand and forget it. Or get back together. Or take revenge on her. All she was going to agree with him. When I read that, I suddenly felt the situation in this drama is to my preference as compared to what happened in that novel.
