I heard that Han Ting was first mentioned/written in "Fireworks of my Heart". In the novel or drama, was Han Ting…
Yes, he was first mentioned in Waiting for You in a City. Han Ting was the guy Meng Yanchen's mother arranges for Xu Qin as a blind date, and then Song Yan appears there with his cousin. It's the scene where Xu Qin finally takes a stand against her adoptive mother.

They kept the Han surname in the drama, but switched out the 'Ting' part to some other name.

In the novel, it was Han Ting, alright. It was mentioned in the novel that before going to the blind date, he ended things with Zeng Di.

Xiao Yixiao is also in the drama, as Meng Yanchen's best friend, you know the club owner. He's also in the novel, too. One character, two different dramas, two different actors, two different love interests. Xiao Yixiao is living the life.

They only rushed the break up part from volume 1. There is still some content left to be explored from volume…

In the novel there are 4 volumes right? From the episodes thus far it seems like they made the first volume into…
They only rushed the break up part from volume 1. There is still some content left to be explored from volume 1, and they seem to be exploring them in upcoming episodes. Ji Xing using Han Ting's name to get things done part is shown in episode 11 teaser. That's in volume 1.

Her character was in the novel. She lingers unfortunately.
But does he have feelings for her though? We know he wanted her to be his girlfriend, we know he greatly admires her. But is any of it romantic?
Just my theory, because we have same dialogue in the drama as it was in the novel. In one of the trailers Ji Xing asks "Han Ting, do you love me?" And Han Ting delivers his definition of love. I also don't see why Ji Xing would break up with him if it weren't for this. Let's see how it develops.

@DominikAPriekopova: i think you're not understanding the plot...there's no Love triangle here...the FL is currently…
After they get together, yes, FL only loves ML.

Do you think it's worth watching this series? I really liked Xu Kai latest work, but I know that in some of his…
Give it an episode or two and decide for yourself. I think it is a solid drama.

Her character was in the novel. She lingers unfortunately.
Context: ZD and Han Ting were in a friends with benefits relationship in the novel before Han Ting got together with Ji Xing.

ZD just informs FL about ML being the secret boss of Hanhai. Even if it is not her, and Ji Xing were to find out by other means, the break up would still happen. And it was actually necessary. In the novel, Han Ting's feelings for Ji Xing were not as deep as Ji Xing's feelings for him. They first get together because Han Ting suddenly found her hot months after her break up with her bf. He makes a very subtle pass at her, which she didn't catch at first. But she realises his intentions quickly and then they have a one night stand. Their relationship starts from here. From Han Ting's pov, Ji Xing is the most suitable partner for him to spend his life with. On the other hand, Ji Xing falls in love with him too deeply too quickly. Seeing that he doesn't reciprocate the same deep feelings, she breaks up with him. Han Ting later realizes that he does love her in his own way. He also expressed that love, in his view, is not something he would die for. His love is to accompany her in day to day life. Only at the end of their life can he truly define it.

And he does, before his death, he calls out to Ji Xing but couldn't speak much, and Ji Xing says, "I know". He wanted to say that he found the definition, and she answered that she knows. A month later, she follows him.

Someone said that they got old Han Ting and old Ji Xing in the cast. I don't know where they saw that, but I hope to see their death in old age play like in the novel. For me, that's everything.

I also agree with you. Like guy couldn't wait for his soon to be successful gf/fiancée? And why did the writer…
Could say the same about the trope where someone close to ML having feelings for FL, yet female audience feel bad for those guys for some reason.

No the ex is stil a good guy, he will move very soon with another girl
I personally don't think she meant to undermine their relationship by having that conversation. Yes, maybe she was impulsive, seeing that he was about to pop the question but not go through with, she may have wanted to hear his thoughts on the matter.

Lmao the nephew and uncle, the uncle looks more like a younger brother than his uncle. Btw both of them played…
They switched up their roles from the novel, lol. Han Ting was the little uncle there. I think I like this one better, with Han Ting being the nephew.

Yes, if you are referring to the love relationship between the ML and FL. No, if you are talking about the overall…
Well said.

😂🤣, would love to see the BTS of the drunk scenes.
I only saw teaser bits of it; when I saw it yesterday, especially in the scene where Han Ting was using an umbrella (?) to get this coat or something from a chair, I only felt that it would have been a laugh riot on set while filming this bit.
