It's not in the novel. It surely counts in the drama, but none of that happened in the novel. They are complete strangers when they met the first time (bicycle accident).

How have they portrayed Han Ting and Zeng Di relationship? They are supposed to be in a friends with benefits relationship. Han Ting does not like her though.

Actually, nowadays, it is not necessarily the case anymore. Female audience are eating up BL romance more than BG romance.
The most popular c-drama remains The Untamed because of this reason. And quite a few Male Lead dramas have dominated over female centric dramas in recent times, too. Even in novels, female readers are preferring BL over BG.

Exactly, given that Shao Yichen in the novel wanted a family and Ji Xing was too busy to fulfill that. But here, Shao Yichen himself would be a lot more busy than Ji Xing. How can he expect Ji Xing to be available for him to start a family when he himself isn't available for her when needed?
