Mature female centric Romance. It is refreshing

"Viva Femina" is a story of three women of vastly different personalities who become best friends as they mutually support each other amidst adversity in their own lives.

The most stable of the three characters (Kang Zi, Kang Ni, and Lin Qian Yu) is Kang Zi's character. A single mom struggles to make it in business worth but is a lousy mom.

It is refreshing to see mature relationship drama where the conversation is a little bit intelligent and mature, unlike the childish conversation and misunderstanding in a RomCom of young couples.

So far, I enjoy this drama and would give it a 7.0 rating. The lead ensemble was good, and everyone acted well.

Very bad drama - don't waste your time.

Gentlemen of East 8th is the worst drama that I have watched, with Zhang Han as the ML. I watched quite a few dramas where he always plays the arrogant and bossy character.

However, in this drama, it seems life imitates work. He plays one of the four gentlemen in their late 30s and (early) 40s who have not been in a marriage or lasting relationship.

The story's premise and flow are dragging and boring, and the acting of the supporting cast is not good either. I can understand why Douban only gives it a 2.0 rating.

I have watched 14 episodes already, giving it a 2.0 rating. I may finish it because I want to know why these four guys take so long to settle into any relationship and how Tong Yu has a son. So far, there is no mention of it, and YouTube has an auto-translated caption which is no good. Stupid but expected ending.

It is not a fictional movie. It is a propaganda movie with many well-known actors/actresses.

"My Youth and I" is a film divided into three units: "Banner," "Seeing," and "Searching," focusing on the Great Northern Wilderness, the Great Western Development, and the youthful blood stories of the new era.

It has a bunch of well-known actors and actresses in each unit, and the gist of the story is focused on the sacrifices of pioneers in different areas and how they make a difference in ordinary people's lives. It is another propaganda of typical Chinese movies or dramas to elevate China's power and changes over the past 30-40 years.

It is an okay movie but not that entertaining. I am giving it a 5.0 rating.

Binge Worthy for this short web drama about time travel. It is suspenseful and engaging.

"Nine Times Time Travel" is a short web drama about time travel that is suspenseful and binge-worthy.

The Synopsis: Brain scientist Shan Yu accidentally learns of the death of his first love, Min Ying, who was holding a birthday candle before she died. Shan Yu lit the candle, and a miracle happened with the light of the fire - the candle could take him back ten years ago! Shan Yu crossed many times to save love but accidentally caused a butterfly effect. A fond past that has been hidden for ten years has also surfaced...

This drama is great, with many twists and suspense as Shan Yu travels back in time, hoping to change the past and save his lover. You have to really pay attention because things move so quickly between the past and present that you may get lost in the translation if you don't pay attention to it.

I had to rewind a few episodes toward the end to catch the switch between the times. Daisy Li is good in short-web drama. I like her in Provoke and Revenge. I also like her in "The Oath of Love" as a supporting role.

I gave it a 7.0 rating, and Lin Feng Song also did a good job playing the ML.

Love this drama, and the acting was fantastic. It is funny, edgy, and tear-jerky.

Destined with You is a funny and enjoyable Kdrama. I normally don't watch too much Kdrama because I don't like to read subtitles, but this one is quite funny, and I like Rowoon the actor. I first like him in the King's Affection.

The Synopsis: Lee Hong Jo is the lowest-grade civil servant. She always does her best at work, even though she suffers from many civil complaints. In her personal life, she is used to being alone. One day, she becomes the owner of an old wooden chest and the key to lift a curse from Jang Shin Yu.

Jang Shin Yu is a competent lawyer who is smart and good-looking. He is usually in the spotlight wherever he goes but suffers from an unexplained disease. His condition gets progressively worse. He is desperate to lift the curse that has run through his family for generations. A lawyer bound by a centuries-old curse becomes entangled with a civil servant who holds the key to his freedom — igniting an unexpected romance.

I love and enjoy this drama a lot, and Jo Bo Ah did a great job playing Lee Hong Jo, and her onscreen chemistry with Rowoon is also good. They did a phenomenal job, especially Rowoon. I gave it an 8.5 rating. Highly recommended, and the ending leaves a cliffhanger for possible season 2. The

A watchable funny Romcom with many flaws and stupid ending, but I enjoyed it.

ADWTF is a Romcom starring William Chan and Zhang Ruo Nan. A decade ago, a deadly earthquake almost claimed the life of a high school girl named Xu Lai. Only the quick thinking and bravery of a young firefighter Jin Shi Chuan saved her. As he rescued her from the falling rubble, she became smitten with him as they made a comforting “promise” – and when they parted, she resolved to seek him out at all costs. Now, 10 years later, Jin Shi Chuan has risen to the rank of captain. Xu Lai has become a news reporter. When a major highway accident happens, Jin Shi Chuan saves her again. While she recognizes him immediately, he does not do likewise – and thinks she is just a trouble-making reporter.

To make matters worse, her report is taken out of context, leading many social media posters to criticize the fire department! But Xu Lai’s love for him has not diminished – and she resolves to fix this and win his heart at all costs. She becomes a dog trainer – helping train special fire-fighting canines who can help rescuers in their efforts. This brings her closer to Jin Shi Chuan.

I like the drama and the camaraderie among firefighters. The supporting cast of firemen was fun, and each of their characters was fun to watch. The onscreen chemistry between the ML and FL was not bad. It seems she was the take-charge type who did the chasing and courting in their relationship. The 2nd and 3rd CPs took too long to warm up; actually, the 3rd CP was not needed in this drama, imo.

The last two episodes were stupid, and the ending was lame. Overall, it was an okay drama; I give it a 7.0 rating.

Acting is good but the script is mediocre.

Here We Meet Again is a Romcom about Xiang Yuan's former love interest Xu Yan Shi once again.

It is nothing special about this drama; it is a brainless teenage crush and loves lost and find-it-again drama. I think both Janice Wu and Vin Zhang did an okay job in this drama. Their onscreen chemistry is not bad, but not great, either.

At least I like the pairing better than when he was paired with Esther Yu in AROTLF, where Esther Yu's character and high pitch noise annoyed me.

Xiang Yuan is intelligent, but I did not like her childish and girly character. Janice Wu's acting in this drama was not the best compared to her other dramas. The production quality is also bad, and so is the script. Too cheesy, but the OST is good. I give it a 7.5 rating. The last two episodes made me bumped my original rating from 6.0 to 7,5 because Xiang Yuan character became mature and showed her support and encouragement for her BF and family.

Really enjoy this drama about life, forgiveness, fighting for injustice.

"The Road to Ordinary" is a drama about a group of lawyer trainees (Pan Yan, Shu Yinan, Zuo Na, and Zhu Xin Xin) working at Rongke Law Firm as they encountered confusion when they first entered the workplace as interns.

During their internship, they are exposed to various litigations, from divorce to embezzlement, sexual harassment, etc. They also face growing pains in the workplace and in their own family, including relationships with their parents. With the guidance and help of senior partners Lan Hong and Du Fei Yu, they learn how to communicate effectively with their clients and parents and eventually become effective lawyers themselves.

This is my first drama with Guo Qi Lin as the ML (he played Pan Yan,) and he did a great job with good humor. Gina Jin played the FL (Zu0 Na), but it feels like a supporting role. The script surrounds the four trainees, but Pan Yan seems to carry the most weight. Gina Jin looks so skinny in this drama. There is definitely no romance between the ML and FL. It is more of a sister/brother relationship because Pan Yan dated Zuo Na's cousin (who later broke up with him.)

Surprisingly I like this drama because of the flow of the story and all the characters in the story. They are facing an ordinary day-to-day life situations, trying to help their clients and being extraordinary in what they do.

I enjoy it and give it a 7.8 rating which is higher than 7.5.

Great Acting from the entire Ensemble but it is long and draggy

I am giving Wild Bloom a 6.5 rating because of the following reasons:
Positives:
- Zhao Li Ying did a great job playing a strong, persuasive, and caring businesswoman.
- The love interest between her character Xu Ban Xia and Zhao Lei was a supportive and mature relationship.
- Ou Hao did his best work in this drama compared to others in which I saw him.
- The acting was above average for the entire ensemble.
Negatives:
- The story was draggy in the middle and toward the end of the drama. It would be better if it is between 24-30 episodes.
- Adding the ex-husband's story toward the end was unnecessary because it has no value added to the drama.
- Too many repetitive scenes with business negotiations.

Don't waste your time. Bad script, bad acting, and non-existent romance.

Our Interpreter is a romantic comedy about rekindling Lin Xi's and Yi Cheng's love after they broke up 10 years ago. The plot is too boring, and nothing is exciting. I watch it to kill time while waiting for a better drama to air.

The Synopsis: Lin Xi, known as the "witch" in the translation industry, reunites with her ex-boyfriend Xiao Yi Cheng. Eight years ago, she broke up with him to fulfill her mother's wish for her to become a professional interpreter for the United Nations.

Eight years later, Lin Xi became the youngest chief interpreter at Huasheng. In contrast, her ex Xiao Yi Cheng has become a communications company's chief technology officer, making him her potential client.

To land a contract with Xiao Yi Cheng, Lin Xi has no choice but to keep dealing with him. She helps his company go public, and even though it seems that Xiao Yi Cheng is out to get revenge on Lin Xi, he doesn't have the heart to be mean to her. Work rekindles their passionate relationship, and Xiao Yi Cheng gradually understands why she broke up with him. Together, they work hard to realize their dream of "speaking for the country."

Pang Hong Mei and Ji Dan Yang fought a life-and-death battle with enemy agents in Lumen, thwarted the enemy's conspiracy, protected the "Water Drop Project," and achieved the expected success. The couple who went through the test of life and death also realized their dreams and firm ideals.

My Reviews:
1. At the beginning of each episode, they recited quotes from famous people in English, French, and Spanish, which was a distraction and annoying insert. The pronunciations were awful.
2. The plot is stupid and tries to show the dramatic and broken relationship of a well-known family whose business is in the interpretation field.
3. Victoria Song and Chen Xing Xu are typecast for the same boring role where they both play cold, bossy, prideful characters. It is also predictable when you know the drama's ending, so it does not require 36 episodes.
4. These two actors are decent, but they need better roles and/or scripts instead of playing the same type of role, which is draggy and boring.
5. The 2nd and 3rd CPs are boring plot fillers. The onscreen chemistry of all three CPs is nonexistent.
6. It has too much propaganda about China's self-made products on the international stage.
7. Stupid ending. She put her career above her happiness, and her BF goes along with it.

I have watched 27 episodes and will finish it as a background noise filler since there is nothing good in Cdrama for January 2024. I give it a 5.0 rating, which is generous.

Good story with many twists and surprises. Enjoyable to watch.

The Legend of Zhuohua tells the love story of a woman who overcomes many trials to become a female official and a general who has weathered many hardships on his road to victory.

The acting in this drama is quite good, especially Jing Tian and Wang Li Kun. It has so many twists and surprises that it keeps me engaged with the story. I didn't know the story's villain was Princess Rou Jia, played by Wang Li Kun.

The death of General Liu Yan in episode 37 was a surprise, and I thought the empire would collapse because of the weak Emporer, Liu Chen (played by Zhou Yi Ran), but the twist was he faked his death and came back to help conquer the kingdom.

It was enjoyable to watch, and I gave it a 7.5 rating. I would give a higher rating if the production quality of the drama is better. What is up with TenCent when it comes to historical drama? They make everyone look so white, like ghosts. It was hard to see it on screen, and I wish they had used the natural skin colors of the actors.

A decent Wuxia drama with good acting, but too long and draggy. Probably better with 30 episodes

Finally, I finished "Destined." starring Bai Jing Ting and Song Yi. The story is about Liu Yu Ru, the only legitimate daughter of a former cloth merchant living a stoic life with her mother in a household where they're mistreated despite their status. Due to a misunderstanding, she is married off to Gu Jiu Si, the notorious son of Yangzhou's wealthiest family, infamous for his idle lifestyle and indolent ways. At first, Gu Jiu Si does not like Liu Yu Ru, believing her to be calculating and scheming. As she settles into her new life, she learns business from her welcoming mother-in-law while growing closer to Gu Jiu Si. However, the storm clouds of war are gathering on the horizon, and the Commissioner of Yangzhou creates endless days of terror, forcing the Gu family into unimaginable circumstances. As the couple grows closer through their hardships, the benevolent pair becomes destined for greatness.

The story is good and believable; however, I found it a bit too long and fell asleep watching it. I also FF many scenes and episodes to move the story along. The acting is good from the entire ensemble. BJT and SY did a good job, but I think the one who acted the best was Zhao Zi Qi, who played Gu Jiu Si's mother.

I give it a 7.0 rating, and I would give a higher rating if the drama were to be cut short by 10 episodes. The first 25 episodes were good; 25-35 were too boring and repetitive. The last 5 episodes were more interesting after the Emporer died.

Cliche and cheesy romance drama, and the acting is worse than first season.

"Love Replica" is the second season of "Mysterious Love" with the same cast and director. I wish the script to continue the previous one where the story was more believable and interesting.

"Love Replica" has a completely different story, and this drama's acting is worse than the previous one. It is cliche and cheesy, so I'm not fond of it. I would not waste my time in this drama; the ending is so stupid; it revealed that XiXi is a robot and AnYue, a human supposed to save the robot with a brain transplant. WTF, how stupid is that, and the father, Xu Yong Yu, is willing to sacrifice his real daughter, An Yue, to save a robot, XiXi.

The director and cast members are 90% the same as in the Mysterious Love drama. That drama has a better plot and is more believable than this stupid one. I give it a 4.5 rating.

Unrealistic, cheesy RomCom but watchable, the FL did a decent job

TGWSS drama is a RomCom 24 episodes drama. It is an unrealistic drama about someone's saliva can cure a strange disease.

The plot is stupid and cheesy, but the acting of the FL, Jin Zi Xuan, is decent. The same cannot be said for the ML, Jia Yi. However, the love they have for each other is believable. I like Du Hou Jia's acting as He Le role; he is funny, and Bai Bing's character is annoying, stupid, and can't take 'No' for the answer.

I don't like female character who is conniving, clingy and do not think the best of themselves, and do stupid stuff like Bai Bing's character.

I binged watch it since it was released with 24 episodes on iQiYi; it is decent but not great drama. I give it a 5.0 rating.

If you like Seven Tan then this drama is watchable, but nothing special and predictable.

As Beautiful as You is a business rom-com about Ji Xing and her college mate, Han Ting, who lost touch for 10 years. Han Ting had a crush on Ji Xing and confessed his love for her while he invested in her startup company.

Synopsis: Ji Xing has worked diligently for a top IT firm for three years but needs help to stand out in a fiercely competitive corporate world. Frustrated, she decides to quit and launch her own company. She soon attracts the support of a powerful mentor and investor, CEO Han Ting. With his backing, her entrepreneurial journey begins to gain momentum. As they collaborate closely, their professional relationship deepens, and unexpected romantic sparks fly.

My Reviews:
1. Nothing special about this drama; it is predictable but watchable.
Seven Tan acted well, and Xu Kai did his best acting in this drama, where he showed a little emotion when they broke up.
2. As I mentioned, Xu Kai is a handsome actor who is pleasing to the eye. Still, I cannot complete any of his historical costume dramas, only the modern ones, where his acting skills are more bearable.
3. The ending is predictable, and their brief breakup is understandable but also expected.
4. The supporting cast added too many unnecessary fillers (2nd CP, 3rd CP, 4th CP, etc.). The drama would have been better if it had been cut to 30 episodes instead of 40 because of fillers.

I am giving this drama a 6.5 rating because the script was nothing special and predictable but watchable because of Seven Tan.
