I just watched one of the most beautiful and well-written series I've ever seen! Here's how I stumbled upon it: a couple of mornings ago, I finished downloading a drama and had some extra gig left. I was casually browsing through my BL Telegram group when I saw a post about a Chinese BL series with only 7 episodes, each 15-20 minutes long. Initially, I thought it would have a sad ending, given that it's a Chinese BL, but it was a CHINESE BL so I didn't really mind which is why I went ahead to download and watch it anyway. I'm glad I did, because it was beautiful and had a happy ending with real kisses (you'll understand why I mention this if you're familiar with Chinese BLs😭). I don't know how to say it but the plot of this drama seems stupid 😞 Sure, the idea of having a divorce insurance seems great, the practicability of it is not even the issue because we have divorce insurance irl but my problem is the way they are going about it. It's as if the whole thing is a joke to them. And the funny scenes in the drama seems forced and definitely not funny.
Rewatching this for the 7th time and everything feels like the first time I watched it in 2019. The Untamed is truly a classic. It is timeless, never gets old!
Civilization has impacted the world, transforming even the time-honored traditions that once brought comfort to people. While we can commend those who are open-minded enough to adapt to change, we must also acknowledge the struggles of those who find it challenging to abandon the familiar ways of their past. For those who have clung to these traditions since childhood, is it fair to blame them for their reluctance to let go?

Trying so hard to be mysterious with the soundtrack, slow motions, dialogue, music, sound effects etc. Every damn thing is screaming "I AM DESPERATE TO APPEAR MYSTERIOUS TO THE VIEWERS." And trust me, people who started watching Cdrama in 2023 will fall for it. I am just annoyed, seriously. All I ask for is a costume Cdrama that does not need to try too hard in order to grab the viewers attention.
Plus, Chen Duling has zero star power. She really is more suited to playing supporting characters. I never knew I would see another actor who's zero star presence can rival that of Liu Yuning.
As for the ml, I don't think I know him self. One scene, he's looking familiar, another scene, he's looking unfamiliar. But one thing I know for sure is that he can never be Ling Buyi😭
You know how Ling Buyi effortlessly pulled off the "I can do anything I want and get away with it because I have the power to do so." That's what he's character is trying to do but he's doing a bad job pulling that off.
