I wouldn't say so. There are many heartbreaking moments, but they are not forced, and feel natural. It's not like you feel creators want to make you cry, but you just want to cry naturally π Even when you know, it's gonna be ok π
Yea putting up with a sacrificial idiot ML in APL is probably not going to be my thing I think I'm just sick of…
I would generally love a plot where there wouldn't be any sacrificing, or ML + FL would do it together. Like, when Qingmu and Houchi took thunder strikes together, it was epic and uplifting, cause they were doing it together. But I get it that tribulation of chaos needed to be finished. But then... why at all the tribulation had to be like that π Also, while ML was doing a lot of epic things to save FL, FL was not so epic, usually struggling with her force being sealed. And then, why do you make your FL the strongest god but take her power away nearly during the whole novel/drama... eh.
In the beginning drama was mostly attacked by haters of cast - they wrote that, like, XK is fat and stiff and…
I also found him adorable, in ALP it was a first time I saw him. I am so ok, if actors look more like normal people and not like models who don't eat or sleep at all. Recently I watched a French detective movie, and I was like: god, these actors look just average and it's so fine, I can enjoy the plot instead of slow camera motion around their pretty faces π
One of my top favorite drama this year. They have good chemistry.really love this xianxia drama. I wonder why…
In the beginning drama was mostly attacked by haters of cast - they wrote that, like, XK is fat and stiff and ZDY is ugly and doesn't fit dramas and should stick to playing in movies. Plus, first episodes weren't too much exiciting and had many similar moments with other xianxias so people were angry that a lot of money were spent to film the same drama as others (as it seemed back then). Those who continued watching the drama, enjoyed it very much and understood it had great plot with many unique features, but damage was already done.
Weak drama --- only managed a 5.4 on Douban after 110k votes. OK, so let's refresh our memory, ALP only got 4.9/10…
Hunter... are you that hater with douban ratings who so much wanted us to not watch this drama at the very beginning? Well... get a life and watch whatever you want, dude π
Why I feel bored after watch 2 eps. Maybe because I just finish Love & Redemption drama so cant help myself but…
Many people wrote similar complaints here, including me. But believe me, after about 8-10 episodes there won't be a single boring episode anymore. Idk, what happened in that first part, why it was boring to watch at first (later on you will actually appreciate it), so try to continue! Later you wont'be able to stop watching.
Lol, I loved their identity crises the most. In other dramas it's usually either doesn't matter at all that character…
The part where Houchi and Qingmu suffered identity crisis was ok for me, cause I think every normal person would have such crisis after they lived a full life for even 30+ years, and here we are talking about thousands of years. And I really liked when Houchi attacked Qingmu about who he liked exactly - her or a girl he saw in his visions (Shanggu). Before ALP I watched "Miss the dragon" and there heroine had three lifetimes and was a different person in each, but ML didn't care about that, so I started to think if he liked her just for her looks or what π What I found unbelievable was that characters who didn't have part of their memory or didn't know all the truth about something were not really curious about that. Shanggu easily believed that Tianqi doesn't know what tribulation of chaos was, and she never went to any random god and asked them about this. Or Tianqi, when he saw Houchi and Qingmu for the first time... like, I would immediately question them, scan them, find Gujun, ask him what the f*ck was going on. But all these gods seem to be really relaxed about finding crucial information π
This show took a steep nose-dive in the second half. It all started with the existential angst. This kind of a…
Lol, I loved their identity crises the most. In other dramas it's usually either doesn't matter at all that character becomes another person in every next life, or those other lives are completely separated from the main ones. Here it was something complex and believable, and I could finally relate to these "several lives" trope.
Why didn't Bai Jue do anything when Wu Han injured Houchi and her baby. He just stood there like a stone mullet.…
I think he couldn't do anything. Tianqi was already helping, and his power at that moment could have been bigger than Baijue's (after he absorbed it back from demons), so all Baijue could do was stand there. He indeed didn't have back up plan for that situation. But Gujun had. I actually like when there are moments in dramas when main leads are helpless, and someone else has to save the day.
He loves everything about Shanggu. And Houchi is a part of Shanggu. But if you mean, did he love her as separate personality, then I don't know. He always knew, Shanggu is going to take over her body, so for him she was always a bit Shanggu.
Well I think Zhu Dong Yu is shaping into a fine actress in her recent serious movies (Soul Mate, Better Days),…
Her personality here is quite different from those I've seen in other dramas. Although she is very tiny and her character's power is usually sealed or not yet developed in the drama, she portrayed a strong FL much better than most of others. She is not too much cute, as some other xianxia FLs, and I love many scenes when she opposes other people with just words, and you can feel her power when she speaks.
Ha ha lol. My favourite/ Saddest death scene was for Yue Mi. Falling stars & disappearing stars... and later Shang…
I love that scene and cry about it too!, the stars falling and epic music made it both sad and epic. I also watched several times (and cried) last scene with Gu Jun and Houchi. Especially the beginning of it, when he kneels and his greeting to Shanggu echoes with his words from the past... ahhh, goosebumps! I like Jingjian's last scene, Zihan's, Muguang's... πππ I even like Snow Goddess last scene!
I think it's a first drama where I can watch "death" scenes many times. I think all "last" scenes would be included to my list of favorite moments π And it's not that I am cruel or something, but these scenes are really nicely done and so epic. I would cry a lot though!
I think there is explanation in the novel, at least I read it somewhere here - the tribulation is over. The tribulation…
I think tribulation is always some kind of test, and both Shanggu and Baijue passed the test. Baijue stopped Shanggu from completing sacrifice, but he then sacrificed himself completely. Seeing their sacrifices and love, Ancient God brought Baijue back.
Honestly, No matter how much I hated Wu Huan,In the last episode when she said "Where is MuGuang, Why is he not…
I didn't hate her much, cause most of her plans failed. Characters were smart enough to win her over. I felt sorry for her, when she lost her son and then her husband.
Canβt believe shanggu didnβt even show a tiny amount of grief for Yuemi βs death when sheβs back. I expected…
Well, Wuhuan didn't mean to kill Yuemi, she meant to kill Tianqi, and back then... everyone wanted to kill Tainqi. Her intention back then was ok, although her final goal was of course to get more respect and fame for herself. The bad thing was to lie about what happened.
For a long time Shanggu thought Yuemi is just trapped in god realm, but she suspected something was wrong about this. I guess she was ready for the painful truth.
