I kinda see your point and why this feels wrong for you, and when I started watching, honestly, even before Shanggu told anything to Tianqi, both Tianqi and Zhiyang seemed to be her uncles!!! :D, so when it became clear that Tianqi was in love, I was also a bit shocked. In comparison to uncle, brother felt less perverted, lol.
Actually, chinese call each other "brother" much more often then we do, their "gege" can be added to person's name even when you don't yet know each other well, and wife can call her husband "gege" too, so I guess meaning of this word as "brother by blood" is not as strong as in English or other languages, where it is simply not used that often.

I remember that scene quite well.
But, for example, QM fell in love with Houchi immediately while she was pushing him away for a long time - is it the reason to consider him perverted, that he didn't give up and continued pushing? People's feelings and perception of other people can change.
FL called Tianqi brother because he is closer than friend, but less close than lover, and as I wrote before, we don't have a word for that, which would not equal to "we are relatives".

Technically they are not brother and sister, and, well, if he indeed loves her romantically, then she needs either to not have any relationships with him, or to continue friendship, which has a brother-sister scent, but it kind of comes out of the fact, that they are close although she can't reciprocate his feelings, and we don't have any additional name for that. In fact we can't call them brother and sister if he doesn't feel like that at all, right? Like we can't call two people lovers if one is not in love. So if you distance yourself from her perspective, it is not that perverted at all 🙂

It's indeed irritating, but very common for cn dramas. They just don't feel the right moment to stop. For example, when Houchi accepted Qingmu and they were celebrating her birthday, that would be a nice moment for Tianqi to stop chasing her romantically.
He could still tease them, but it would be great to know that he himself moved on, even if they would not know he did.
At the same time, Tianqi is responsible for like 80% of humor in this drama, and he is also very hot, so I love him anyway, haha.

I think that QM and HC are in fact BJ and SG given that they grew up/appeared in different circumstances. We saw BJ's childhood and then they were at war with chaos god, and then he couldn't take how many friends they lost and decided to live alone and teach. He was a nice person although not very talkative, and if tribulation of chaos wouldn't have happened, he would get softer and more open, and probably a bit similar to QM.
And HC is like SG if she wouldn't be spoilt since childhood, but they are both responsible and want to protect the world.
So for me QM and HC will always be like parts of their original personalities.

Watched ep 1, not yet impressed and FL already annoys me, which is too fast. Conflict in the fire team might be interesting though. And another couple, who met in the shower, might be funny.
