Watching episode 19 and shipping FL with Jack so much! And I like prince Yi, cause he is a serious and a bit grumpy type, very clever, and I have a weakness for such male characters, but Jack... Jack is just so cute and he has amazing chemistry with FL. She is also a bit of QQ type (character from Miss the Dragon, with whom Deng Wei's character there had a cp), so I just have so many feelings! :D
Yesterday I rewatched some scenes from ALP to heal my viewer's feelings from new drama "Mirror Twin cities..." for which I had high expectations that it will have cool special effect and strong plot, but nope, not yet, and probably not at all π Damn, the quality of picture, the score, and most of effects were really good in ALP. So many epic scenes! And the female lead! Our Shanggu was so lively and talkative, and Houchi - stubborn and righteous, I love them both and how they were portrayed by Zhou Dongyu.
Does anybody know the story and the ending for Yu Huan (Cang Liu's young general)? And what happened to Bai Ying's…
It is changed a lot in comparison to original, they even modified character's name from Yun to Yu, so at this moment noone knows what his ending is gonna be. I heard that in original story he started as antagonist but then became grey protagonist with a very sad and beautiful love story. I assume he might die here, unfortunately.
Mmm, I basically started this drama because I follow all dramas with Liu Haikuan (young general Yu Huan here), and I was scared he is gonna be just a boring antagonist, but I think it might be more complicated, and the story with the captured woman made a nice turn in episode 8.
Binge watched all 14 subbed episodes in two days π Very pleasant drama, episodes are easy to watch cause a lot of things happen, characters talk and interact a lot, and everyone has some tasks or goals, which is so refreshing after dramas where characters seem to have no occupation whatsoever. No unnecessary flashbacks and too long romantic scenes with music, where couples just stare at each other (such scenes do happen, but they are short). Main leads developed slow and believable romance, side characters are nice and interesting, they all have their own problems and desires. Hope they keep going like this π And Deng Wei is cute as always π
OK, so having seen potential, once we get past the 'how we met'- that's been ongoing for how many hours now? This…
Look, in ALP "how we met" story took about 15 episodes, but although many people (including me) were complaining about it being boring, it actually ended with an epic battle and epic drama, which I still rewatch sometimes. Here the "how we met"part ends in the mid of episode 5, but you might not notice it actually happened :D
Started watching this and having so much fun! Now on episode 5 and can't stop laughing about FL simping for Little Bao, especially that I remember actor from "The Untamed" where he was also extremely cute :D
I am watching episode 5, and... did the past part just end like that? I expected that scene to be highly emotional, with dramatic score and slow mo, but instead it's just... plane and boring. Director, editor, go back to school!
Watched 2 episodes, not really good so far, but after "Ancient love poetry" I know to give fantasy dramas a chance) But visuals do not look big budget yet. Second male lead seems to be much more fun than the main lead.
(I think there are no spoilers, so not hiding this comment) Ok, I finished and I am both satisfied and not :D I am glad Liu Haikuan got his first project where he is the lead, I think he is good both in comedy and in drama /and very handsome/, but he can do much more than he did in this series, as it didn't really explore his character well enough. I mean... a person who lived for 100 years, and we got like... 5 flashbacks? And not much reflection either. It felt like the FL was the main character, which would be ok if ML had a less interesting premise. Drama had some issues with flaw and transitions between scenes, and became a bit boring in the middle. The good part was humor, many, really many brilliant lines! And I liked how they addressed the issues of death and immortality. Thumbs up for all secondary cast, William, Tutu, Qian Cheng and Lin Nuoyan were adorable! The ending was ok, for me it didn't feel rushed as in most dramas, but they did forget to mention at least one important issue, and just pretended there was no elephant in the room))
There are many side characters, which are cute, and some minor love stories with them, but until episode 18 there is no clear second couple. I hope for two male second leads to find their love in this story βΊοΈ
