The previews are never there. For any drama. Unless its built into the episode.
No the reply from me is that the previews are on Neflix.

I wonder if people new-to-cdrama are baffled at this point, since apparently Netflix's translators can't seem…
Netflix does l translate conversations but they have ALWAYS not addressed the Asian honorific title translation. I have pretty much given up when it comes to Netflix because they have done it for years. I actually just listen to the actors instead.

If you noticed Madame you would notice all the sisters are translated by their names and not how they are addressed anyway.

If you noticed a particular translator then just email Netflix I guess.

Is there anybody who read the novel? I just saw video where Chai An is dead, did he actually gonna die or not?
Did you watch the ending OST? Its clear as day plus it must be a birthday cake as it has that peaches on top decorations.

There are 24 more episodes. This is one drama where we are guaranteed a happy ending so I am not stressing out over misleading previews.

Why are there so many negative comments about this show? Are they true or just assumption-based or exaggerated?…
Just watch it. I don't what the heck is triggering all those negative comments. There isn't anything new and its even worse in other dramas.

It has a great cast, experienced writer, good directing and costumes.... I am usually the person who critiques a drama but people seemed all bent out of shape over it.

This is the only currently airing Cdrama I'm watching. I usually have 3-6 K and CDramas concurrently. Ignore fhe comments. Stop reading it and just marathon to ep 12. Then decide.

why all historical c-drama has this guy , su guo guo -- from "The Double", during whole drama after every 5 or…
That's because the subs did not translate the Chinese title into English. Not all the characters are addressed ny name but by their title etc.

Thank you.

And oh my:
- a high ranking scholar likely future minister
- merchant family
- rich merchant
- a magistrate so has been a scholar
- imperial family ties so likely officials in the family.

I think I am having palpitations on Madam Li's behalf.

Honestly. It beats 3rd generation chaebols in my opinion. 😁😁😁 It also trumps the Bennett family as well.

And what? Do we have the correct guy? Geez I wish I had his work CV.https://baike.baidu.com/item/%E5%91%A8%E6%9C%AB/5133504
Lol. Good luck another 21 episodes to go. I am girding my loins to watch Princess Royal and Under the Queen's umbrella.

I know I will have issues with the cruelty but that's why i prefer lighter dramas like these. I think I am going back to my ebooks. Its safer.

You mean a modernised historical drama? That's fusion historical dramas. This drama isn't marketed as such is it?You…
Oh that. I think that was or is something tasteless and nothing to do with age but rather a person's sense of humour. Unfortunately I have met people who would think this was funny. I have some pretty crass colleagues. Its not the age but the mindset of those people. I usually label it as lacking the milk of human kindness. Either way I am not that addicted enough to argue passionately about this drama. Its doing its job entertaining me. I am now going back to finishing off ep 29 of The Double and ep 1 of the Kdrama The Monarch. I am really lacking anything that interests me.

Back to the first part of your answer. I seriously think its not age but sexism based on the person's personality. How prominent is it in a 70 year old vs a person in the 20s? Not sure but I do have young colleagues who are really idiots and sexists who will appreciate this.

I don't usually bother checking the writer's age but in his case the pay must have been good for him to write it.

lolllll I just realised the scriptwriter is 70 - no wonder so much of the humour in this is just not tailored…
You mean a modernised historical drama?

That's fusion historical dramas. This drama isn't marketed as such is it?

You mean filial piety, scholars, MCP, domestic violence, politics, greedy relatives etc.

That's like the mainstay of Chinese dramas especially a historical drama. The fusion concept here is that the females have so much clout.

The production house must have felt that this type of plot will attract viewers. I actually tend to steer clear of the fusion historical if it becomes too modern. Or the speech patterns or mindset belongs to a contemporary drama. It becomes too jarring. Also the relationships becomes lost with the American style subbing on Netflix. I am using subs but also listening. Its always been the issue when its Netflix does the subtitles.

This is my personal opinion and I am even saying the writer's age has nothing to do with the way its written. I don't see how else it would go if it was too steep in the historical style. And if it becomes too modern- have watched quite a few of those and they are jarring. The modern expressions in the lines, cooking methods and also physical gestures not seen in that time period.

I read your other comments. Its the mindset. Yes those modern lines and thoughts are what is jarring when you hear it in a historical drama. Some of the modern expressions used especially the heart signs, thumbs up and the arrogance have been out of place. The snappy comebacks? Yes its all modern speech patterns. It brings to mind the American sitcoms speech and interactions in Chinese dramas. Those have not been my style. I actually thought this drama is slightly campy which means its already not a serious historical drama and it doesn't reflect as a drama being written by a 70 year old. It was meant as a joke but if you brought it up; why was it funny?

One of my main complaints in other dramas are that the writers have a plot but do not know how to do a story flow. I am kinda relieved now reading the cv that the writer will know how to close a story. And know how to do a word count so its done within that period. In this case his cv relieves me. It may not be the best drama but I sure hope he will fit it into the 36 episodes. I went back to check, I have watched at least 4 of his other dramas. The stories had closure. I want a writer who can write.

If anyone has a clearer copy of the relationship can you please post it? Thank you.

I downloaded the image but can't read any of them clearly.

Even the 1st husband has a girl atrached to his name. And I can't read what the 2 guys attached to the 1st sister are

And the 4th sister's husband is the guy from The Double?

Ep 11 preview? I did a frame by frame freeze of the closing song. They looked happy in the end.Guess the couple…
I saw the brothers in marriage bonding in ep 11. I guess they will straighten him out if it happens. He seemed like the usual arrogant male in dramas. Its just that he's good looking but imagine it if he was older and one of those fathers in dramas. His mindset about the marriage would have been exactly what the fathers would be yelling.

The male that appeared later in the episode was so gym bulky I started to laugh. No scholar would be so built like that in those ancient times.

Oh those. Haven't watched 2 because its not to my taste. I just went to MDL to read the synopsis. O M Gee. The plots are terribly horrfic. I am a bit traumatised now.

When the phone rings had good acting but also not to my taste. I skipped merrily through it.

Lol. I am here because there are no other currently airing drama that I like.

I am back at work and I have been procrastinating my computer work from home. So once I am back in real life won't bother commenting. I am not actually upset UPSET about other people's opinions. I am replying because I had time to answer. As long as this drama is halfway decent I'd be happy.

I am almost done with rewatching The Double. And trust me when I say there is nothing outstanding making me fall in love drama at present.

Prode and Prejudice looked messy but it was a good read. I am going to catch a few episodes of The Iron Family. Then there is a new Kdrama with multiple siblings coming up in March. So I'm prepared for histrionics.

The web dramas I've picked up while bored have been TERRIBLE and violent. So much slapping.
