Unbelievably bad
This movie was a complete waste of time for the choreographers, the actors and for us, the damn viewers. If you want to watch High Kick Girl, watch it for 40 minutes, then turn it off, because after that it becomes High Kick Sensei, and I can assure you that it's a really bad movie and you don't wanna watch it.When you read the words "High Kick Girl!" and sees a high school girl doing a high kick in the cover, you don't set your expectations high. You hope to watch some nice Karate Fights with an OKAY plot that hopefully don't spoil the fights.
But they managed to do it!! It is so bad that you can't even pay attention to the fights anymore, and by the end of the movie, the directing and the writing gets progressively bad to the point where the fights are unwatchable.
The first half of the movie is OKAY, if you ignore the really annoying replays in the scenes. It's nice, you got some crazy karate girl that is hunting black belts around the town, as an excuse to kick some ass. A good enough plot, if you ask me.
I could go on and on about how they wasted a decent idea and how they could have done a mediocre movie and get away with it, but they were completely lost '-'
*I'm rating it a 3/10 in honor to the actors and choreographers

Good series, bad first movie
Everything was an excuse to someone rip the girl's clothes off.If you ignore this fact (which is 90% of the content itself) you are left with some really really poor directing. I know it's the 70s, and it's low budget. BUT CAN YOU PLEASE FOR THE SAKE OF ART DIRECT A GOOD SCENE AS WELL?? christ, in all the violence scenes people were punching the air!! You know, you can hit someone for real, it's not gonna kill themmm lmao, oh my god, I felt like the actors were afraid of kill each other with a god damn slap. Why can't you do some camera tricks to make the action look real?
Anyway, I won't touch the flaws in this movie (I only scratched the surface, don't wanna go there). It's a decent prison movie if you ignore everything else, also, unfortunately this first entry is actually necessary in order to understand Sasori's backstory and stuff... it's a pretty solid series in general, and the other movies are better (at least the second and the third, which are my personal favorites).

At least better than High Kick Girl
This one actually has a story and a director, and it's alright. But I feel like the whole movie could've been much shorter. The fights are okay. The acting is OKAY. They cast a lot of real fighters (including the foreigner who plays Keith (he also played a random guy in High Kick Girl). There's Rina Takeda whose acting is good and fights really well. I think everyone else's acting were pretty much alright, nothing that would break your immersion. Of course there are a lot of lame plot moments but there's no need to get picky on this movie. Just stop.
The story is not bad but it's worthless. All there is to it is the action, which doesn't holds the film together in this case.
Wouldn't watch again and I don't recommend.

a film about a gothic girl with some enjoyable fight scenes packed in low budget gore.
When the film started I thought "that's some disgusting B movie, isn't it?", but then the first fight scene kicked in, and I thought "wow, if they have more cool fights like this one, I'm all in for watching a girl in Gothic & Loli costume kicking people's asses" and that's what they served me. Well, kinda. Not all fights are cool, and the cool ones have it's lame moments... some of the character's acting doesn't help (some are really good, like the protagonist and Lady L). Also I'm not a big fan of the director's sense of humor (fart sounds? seriously? lol). Luckily enough this is not a comedy movie, so we're safe (thank god). But perhaps we'd be safer not watching it at all lmao.
Well, if you are in for the plot, forget it. You picked the wrong movie. Like... Come the fuck on, let's have a look at the title "Gothic & Lolita Psycho", it's just an excuse for having a girl in gothic fashion fighting people... because why not? looks cool enough lol
that's the whole concept, the whole thing revolves around it, it's all about the characters and the fights itself, the plot is just an excuse for the fights to happen, and I'm 100% okay with this.
That's it. It's something to watch if you are bored, and like fighting scenes, dark visuals and (who knows) low budget gore. (I'd watch it again, because the protagonist looks cool and Lady L is badass and funny lol).
