It's funny how in just a short time, she made that storeroom to fit her personality with the lights and stuffed toys. like girl you're just squatting there but okay lol
Unfortunately her internship landed her in a company that made her work like a mere secretary who's supposed to entertain male clients, so she's a rookie lawyer with no good work training.
A lot of people are so mad at the sad ending and even calling this "Journey to Death" even though the English title was a poor rendition of the Chinese title.
I can understand that we would have loved for it to have a happily ever after ending because we fell in love with the characters with how well they were written and fleshed out by the cast, but we can't dictate the ending. The songs, the opening scenes, the foreshadowing all pointed to tragic ending - we just didn't want to accept it and waited for something to twist it to HEA.
BUT THIS WAS NOT A BAD ENDING. They died heroically protecting what they loved and held dear in their hearts. It wasn't "oh writer just wanted to kill off the core cast members". Their deaths were done beautifully in a way that tore at us.
Deaths during war happens. At least they were heroes and not innocents like what's happening in current wars around the world these days. I hope they vitriol you want to send the writer is the same energy you send to those in power enabling the wars happening now.
I assume most of the viewers who are watching are not expecting this series to be ground-breaking and complex,…
THIS.
I don't get those comments as well. The synopsis itself reads cliche and tropey romcom. It's still entertaining when done right. Sometimes we need to just chill and be entertained with what we're watching.
So far, first 2 episodes were fun and nice and both leads fit their roles. No unnecessary skin smoothing filters to mess up the color grading.
My gawd, I can already tell this is a good & really promising drama, but why the heck they sabotaged themselves…
it's not only 2 days a week, but looks like they follow the slower schedule here https://mydramalist.com/photos/pd0RZb_3 like 1 episode every day with weekends off
wait... transmigration plot is banned? tell me more
omg... but then previously they already have restrictions on modern day fantasy. like they have to make sure viewers won't believe it's true. HAHAHA Parallel World had so many disclaimers and things censored out.
Can someone explain me why did Yuan Lu die? Why couldn't they just send a message with a pidgeon or something…
They sent messages earlier but the An people didn't take it seriously because the 2nd prince was already spreading word about nothing happening there at the pass. So they needed someone who could get the message personally to someone who will listen to them. A pigeon could easily be shot down (they did that with the pigeons spreading word about their escape - oh and NYZ destroyed the pigeon houses he passed through going to An to keep the escaping Wu team safe). Shi San decided to assign it to Yuan Lu so that YL will be out of the battlefield and be safe. SS did not think that YL would not take his advise to make sure to stop at the inns to rest. YL decided to get to An capital as fast as he could to get reinforcements as fast as he could. Unfortunately, his weak heart could not take the stress.
During the drama we have a LTG who when it comes to scheming and business is all sober , serious and quite manipulative…
Think about it this way: he spent majority of his time growing up under the tutelage of Ren Xin and getting attached only to her, spent 5 long years obsessing about her and what could have been in his mind to the point of accumulating many paintings of her and various Scarlet Guard outfits for his mannequin in his hidden room. I would not fault him for not breaking away from his demons in a span of a few months.
Some things we can see for certain is that this character has a lot of pride, can fight, has respect for people he considers warriors (how he buried the 6RH members who died in battle), cares for people under him (the lady guard/maid and his right hand man who both used to be under Ren Xin).
It would have been better if they had more episodes to flesh out the last 1/3 of the story, but to me LTG stayed in character - unstable but had potential - until the end. And while he caused series of bad events, we never considered him a villain but a victim of his own demons.
God I hope Netflix gets this. It's Wong Kar Wai.
