For someone from the past she certainly lacks grittiness, basic politics and awareness of people's hidden agenda.…
you seem to put noble women in high regard hahaha olden times noble daughters were married off to noble sons, then become part of the noble son's family. what basic politics? what awareness of people's hidden agenda? noble daughters were not part of that. while she did want to go off and travel to qing, it's not like she was street smart like her servant. besides she was pretty spoiled by her grandfather and father.
which country ? Im from Indonesia but still on eps 34, watching the remaining eps on kissh asia thank god lol
PH. try to refresh it. it should come out. they're releasing the episodes early i think coz of how heavy the rest of the episodes are, they need to get it out before people think to stop watching - or go to kssh or piracy sites.
It really bothers me that they just made Jiang Zhan a puppet for Long Zhi. It just feels like a cop out. This…
Unfortunately, that was how the novel wrote the character. But I agree that his character is pathetic, but has not shown very strong will (always following YLX in everything) to not choose the ending he chose for himself. The guilt he must have felt betraying YLX and being the one who brought the traitor in was that strong. He was told that Long Zhi was his responsibility, so that was how he took responsibility for his mistake. Stupid (given YLX bartered his freedom) but not out of character.
Ren Xin is indeed THE legendary assassin!! Latest eps speak volume why many ppl fear her and why NYZ alwys say…
She's softer in that she's no longer hardwired to kill without second thought, but it does not make her weak. She remains strong but more humane. Really have to give this writer a standing ovation with how these characters are written and their growth.
The preview suprised me!!NYZ to the rescue!! Omg the way RRY said his name when she saw him😍🥹The truth is…
It was weird that he asked for a carriage then next scene they were just at a deck. But mind does wonders that it makes you assume they were simply waiting for that carriage at that moment.
RRY vs female scarlet guard at the temple door: That cut from her younger days when she deftly avoided the same strike then cut back to present where she was stabbed meant she could definitely have done the same but took that blow intentionally. Adding the line "You lost" meaning she did not lose.
RRY vs LTG at the rooftop: She executes a practiced move knowing LTG will follow the moves as he has been taught. So she could take that strike intentionally.
RRY not fighting to kill even in the face of imminent death is so different from RRY when the series started. She would just kill off anyone who was in her way without second thought.
On a side note, how many times did RRY intentionally accept getting stabbed in these two episodes. You crazy assassin you. Oh and remember when she stabbed NYZ in the cave when she was injured? She knew where to stab avoiding his vital points, so it was not lethal. So for sure she knows where to stab that will hurt but not kill.
Your post has now turned into a ZLS bashing post with all these replies you are getting, not sure if you actually…
It's not unnatural to think that could play a role better especially if you like that actor or seen another role that actor played that's close to the role. I have in my mind watched dramas/movies and thought that way.But to say it out loud for others to hear/read is for me disrespectful to the current actor/actress doing the role.
Actors don't just follow scripts to a t. They studied this character and created whole personality profile they will wear throughout filming. When director says "action" that switch to become this character comes on. That goes on for months of filming. Not to mention them being aware of how they should look and feel in each camera frame. (well if they were really invested in their craft, they do that)
So it's best to keep comparisons to yourself even if the actor was lacking. Focus on what was lacking than so and so would be better.
I’m like a proud mother able to witness Yang Ying’s character development. From a crybaby, throwing tantrums…
A true disciple of both RRY and NYZ. She thinks on her feet and thinks of others above herself. I love when she makes a decision, her tone changes to more authoritative and commanding but not emotional shouting. Makes you really fall on your knee and accept her order (poor Sun Lang)
“I’m off to deal with the scarlet guards! Oh wait a minute, I’m gonna FORGE A SWORD FOR YOU 😂like sorry,…
tbh yes but okay, this is dramaland and writer wanted ml to do some grand gesture, and after the very good writing she has been doing i will give her this moment and consider its absurdity as comedy tightly infused in a non-comedic scene
I am in the beginning of ep 31 but I had to ask why are they (the king of wu and yaun lu) eating the papers instead…
Burning will leave traces, they will know some message was received. Swallowing makes it go to poop. No one really inspects prisoners' poopies. In some dramas (even non-asian and modern shows), you see spies putting together burnt paper and still getting to figure out the message. So swallowing messages you don't want read is quite common in dramaland. Although I have not seen a single person do this in real life.
I'm on episode 17, obviously still far behind. I'm still liking it, although I've come to realize the story tone…
She will grow on you because she's *the* Liu Shi Shi. Ren Ru Yi is mature and a trained assassin taught to kill without questions. She's the best assassin, cold. She eventually finds her softer side through this journey. But that you feel she is cold and too mature is because that is her character. You don't realize it but LSS was able to depict her character well for you to feel that way. I don't see any other actress being Ren Ru Yi, especially not those younger actresses you mentioned.

Edit. They added 36 already.
Congrats!
