I think without seeing their long journey and how much dangers they faced along the way and how the princess bonding…
Yes, true. But what ReedMery said, the disillusionment and hurt of YY with her brother would not affect us had we not seen her growth and formed our bond with this character we all wish to protect. We feel hurt for her now. Each and every character we've come to love, whatever tragedy or happiness they go through will affect us. Stories are not all plot-driven. That is not the one and only thing important in storytelling. Some stories are driven by the setting or character/s or the point of view or conflict or plot. Many a mix of these. AJTL excels in building the characters vis-a-vis the many events that push them to grow. I prefer this than a fast moving plot with flat characters I would care little about save maybe the main leads (if we're lucky that they got flesh out more).
If An, Wu, and Chu end up have to unite as one kingdom to defeat Northern Pan and prevent more wars, NYZ and RRY…
the huge battle in the trailers looks like a battle versus Northern Pan based on some of the armor. might be where everyone who cares will be there (6RH gang, RRY, Chu, LTG)
As pitiful as he is, he behaves like an irrational, arrogant, rebellious brat and needs to be put in his place. They see his good sides as well, but he really has to get over his obsession with claiming his master as if she belongs to him and him alone without her having any say in the matter.
RRY telling him she thought the same as us tho hahaha this writer knows her audience well
Objectively, I can see why LYN is not conventionally "pretty boy" but he looks the part and looks really good for costume dramas - like I can visualize him straight off of old Chinese paintings. He is NYZ for me through and through.
PYW finally meets the mysterious weird-eyed lady (sorry forgot her name) and discovers the knotted up fates of Joseon-KTH and his family and even her mother. Grandpa is sus for me too. Why does he have the items from Joseon? Why is he mad that KTH announced who his wife is? Why did he meet with Ha Na who seems to like KTH in a possessive/obsessive way? Ms Min is openly a villain in this story, but seems like there are more hidden villains. Feels like a lot of things still need to fall into place and there's only 6 more episodes to go. I hope the ending is not rushed.

So far the writer (and director) has been great not only with the overall writing but also adding in little touches that's tailor-made for the cast to the character. like the "lower your head... lower..." for the hairpin and "long legs" remark of yss to nyz.
Isn't the secound prince the son of the empress?so naturally RY should protect and support him.I don't understand…
NYZ mentioned 1st and 2nd princes are not virtuous. But seems like 2nd prince is the lesser evil, and more so the baby 3rd. Doesn't seem like RX had enough a bond with 2nd prince to enjoy her loyalty. The whole An kingdom doesn't deserve her loyalty given how much they disregard the lives of the Scarlet Guards. Besides, Empress didn't even tell her to take care of her child instead wanted her to live a peaceful life away from An.
where Viu is available, it's on Viu. If not on either iQiyi or Viu, Linmon Pictures' Youtube https://www.youtube.com/@LinmonMedia
From what I've read here: North Americas, Australia. I think Thailand as well coz I've seen some tweets of their billboards in Thailand (unless those were fanmade ionno.
I cried a little when Ruyi was in front of the Empress's tomb. Aside from moments with Ning, that's the most childlike…
when you think about it, the way RRY obsessively clung to the Empress' last words is somewhat similar to how LTG clings to RRY. I really hope Jiu'er will stop being too obsessive about it and start growing up the way RRY continues to change for the better.
