I am not missing the point. But they should've at least made the tree not easy to walk on so that it makes sense that TSJ would have to swim to get the flower.

CX's jealousy of TSJ was rather funny in the recent episode 😂 His facial expressions are hilarious.

CX: I know! *raising eyebrows*. Stupid flower *throws the flower*

I honestly think that even if the promise wasn't made, XL would still put barriers between him and XY because after all, he can't sacrifice the whole army for a girl. In this lifetime, there really isn't a way for them to be together because of the heavy responsibilities that XL has. Them being at opposing sides is the biggest setback of expressing their true feelings to each other.

He's not necessarily THE bad guy, but he does commit some bad things later on (mostly brought by his obsession). CX does not end up with anyone (because the one he likes doesn't like him), though he has some wives that are just for political matters.

TSJ saying at the end that he's allowing XY to choose.

Meanwhile XL doing his very best so that XY won't even consider him as a choice by constantly lying to her and hurting her and so she won't know about his feelings ever 😭

What the drama failed to show us was how the blood sucking scenes actually turned intimate later on lol.
