I think you forgot that the reason why XY rejected the kiss, was not because she detested it, but because she was afraid of letting XL inside her dreams— in layman's terms, she was afraid of falling in love with XL. But why would you be afraid of falling for a "friend" if you weren't experiencing the signs already? If a friend was really just a friend to you, then that shouldn't even be part of your worries.

Second, you can't just suddenly remember a mere "friend" while you're being lovey dovey with your lover. She was randomly wondering if XL was currently XL or FFB while hanging out with TSJ, which means she was already being swayed. The line, "Xiao Yao thought about Xiang Liu and buried her face in her arms and went silent.", obviously expressed a feeling of longing, not loathing because of an unwanted kiss or whatever you're trying to make it out to be. XY realized that she was thinking of another man while already being with TSJ, hence, she wanted to get XL off her mind by kissing TSJ underwater. She wanted to snap out of it because she knew it was wrong that she's being swayed— that XL was already starting to enter her heart.

Xiao Yao thought about Xiang Liu and buried her face in her arms and went silent. She didn't know if he was Xiang Liu or Fang Feng Bei right now. Suddenly she grabbed Jing's arm and pulled him into the water "'Go to the bottom with me."

She didn't wait for Jing to answer before putting the fish amethyst in her mouth and diving down with Jing. She pulled Jing down with her but the pool was so deep there was no bottom in sight. Even those with strong powers couldn't stand too long underwater so Jing grabbed her hand and pointed to the top indicating he was going up. Xiao Yao shook her head and wouldn't let him. She wanted him with her.

Jing's face was changing color but he allowed Xiao Yao to continue to pull him down. She wrapped her arms around his neck and put her lips on his to pass him air. Jing's body stiffened and he was so shocked he started choking. Xiao Yao quickly gave him another breath of air. Jing's entire body was stiff but he descended with her until they hit bottom. It was dark and nothing was there so Xiao Yao pulled Jing up. He seemed to snap out of it and used his strength to swim up with her. She pointed to her lips indicating for him to get another breath of air but he didn't. Jing used his one breath and made it to the surface but he was in pain and gasping on the rock.

Xiao Yao asked angrily "Why?"

Jing stared in the distance and said in a low voice "Because you didn't have me in your eyes back there."

Xiao Yao said nothing and walked towards the hut.

**few moments later**

Xiao Yao angrily grabbed his hand and bit it hard "Am I in your eyes?"

Jing hurt in his hand but was happy in his heart "Yes."

XY didn't even deny what TSJ said, and that already says a lot. Later on, she asked Jing if she was the one in his eyes and he of course said yes— which means to her, it didn't matter who was in her own eyes, as long as she was surely the one in TSJ's eyes, she would choose him.

I hope the scene where XY found out all memories in the mirror are gone is still in the drama. That scene broke me sm.

I'll never get over the fact that XY's mirror contained only memories with XL, in which according to sir Bi— are her "most precious memories".

I honestly find myself a bit annoying as well for constantly commenting about YaoLiu 😂 I just can't help but express every single thought that comes to my mind because their dynamics and the hidden meanings in their scenes are really interesting to analyze. There's so much to say about the complexity of their feelings towards each other.

The most tragic thing about the novel is not even XL's death, it's the fact that XY never knew about the things XL has done for her and how much she meant to him. She lived her life thinking that all that they had was just a transaction to him— that she was the only one hurting.

I just finished reading the novel after starting it yesterday even though I originally planned to read the S2 part while S2 is airing (because I already read the S1 part after watching S1), but I couldn't wait until July 8. Then I finally watched the trailer for the first time right after reading the epilogue and oh my gosh you guys— that was fucking amazing. The drama did a spectacular job in bringing the novel to life. The iconic scenes are so well done; I can't wait for the drama to air. I just hope they didn't remove my favorite scenes.

I agree, LYF is the first (and as of now still the only) drama that I watched from YZ, and she's honestly one of the actresses (alongside LSS in A Journey to Love) that truly impressed me the most when I just started watching c-dramas (which was just this year lol).
