Maybe you should try it yourself. Because I know you always put emphasize into people appearances then let me…
You should watch "You are My Glory" (32 eps 35 mins = around 16 eps in 1 hour format). I am waiting for your response haha. It has the best chemistry in modern romance dramas.
Maybe you should try it yourself. Because I know you always put emphasize into people appearances then let me…
I am okay with age gap. As long as it's not above 10 years older. So i still can watch many noona romance dramas. You know I also like "Falling into You" c-drama. It also involved the age gap around 8-9 years apart. The FL is older than ML. But they have great chemistry + passionate kisses.
But the chemistry between Dilraba and Wu Lei is empty. I cant feel the tension between them. ML rescued FL many times. But I didnt feel their connection as a couple. It also got too many damsel in distress tropes when the FL was supposed to be a badass woman in the field. So it's very stupid in the end.
If you want to see the best chemistry from Dilraba, then you should watch "You Are My Glory". Her chemistry with Yang Yang was so GREAT in that drama. Romantic scenes with passionate kisses.
For TLB, They hinted so many times that they were in love. But it just cant convince me. I still think they were just partner in politics/works. Nothing like couple. Like I said, it got potential story but the script writing and lack of chemistry were kinda ruined the whole drama for me. Plus i HATE when they used drawings to show the difficult scenes like battle/wars. Come on.
It's a pity because I knew how chinese drama works. Other chinese dramas are even better and more capable in action scenes + difficult scenes than TLB.
In the end of the day, you should try it yourself. Maybe it works for you. But not for me. I still remember how it was so struggle to finish all 49 eps.
Maybe you should try it yourself. Because I know you always put emphasize into people appearances then let me…
The Long Ballad? It's not bad. But the story is a bit draggy for me. Plus some stupid choice was involved in the story. Basically, it made me dislike the FL.
I also hate when the production team mixed the drawings (manhua) into live action. They did it for difficult scenes. For example, when the FL fell into the river, suddenly they turned the scene into moving manhua/drawings. Or when there was a large scale of war, they turned some of the action scenes into manhua/drawings. IT PISSED ME OFF. Seriously. This is a big budget drama. Why they were so lazy to execute difficult scenes?
The chemistry is also zero as a couple. They were more suited as a friend or partner than romance couple. No kisses. Only hugs and forehead kisses. Maybe because Dilraba is older than Wu Lei. Plus Wu Lei was around 19-20 years old in that time.
Why there is many kiss scenes in Love Like The Galaxy? Because Zhao Lusi and Wu Lei are around the same age. And Wu Lei is already above 21 when he filmed LLTG.
Actually TLB got potential script. But i just feel it's ended up as empty ambition.
LLTG is definitely better than TLB.
Ah plus you dislike the age gap, dont you? Like I said, Dilraba is 7 years older than Wu Lei anyway. Except you put double standard for older woman younger man vs older man younger woman
Maybe you should try it yourself. Because I know you always put emphasize into people appearances then let me…
Lol yeah Yang Yang (1991) and Zhao Lusi (1998) got age gap around 7 years. But in the story, there was no age gap. They are the couple in same level of martial arts and noble status.
It's similar like The Long Ballad. Irl, Dilraba (1992) is 7 years older than Wu Lei (1999).
So actually Zhao Lusi (1998) and Wu Lei (1999) in LLTG is around the same age irl lol
Maybe you should try it yourself. Because I know you always put emphasize into people appearances then let me…
LOL we have different perspective but we still can discuss things nicely. Haha. I still remember your debates with other MDL members were pretty hot because of different thoughts.
Maybe you can try to watch "You Are My Glory"? It's Yang Yang n Dilraba. Modern romance drama. And they are around the same age in the story. They were college friends. After that, they met again after a few years from graduation but in different field of work.
Btw do you also watch Who Rules The World? I dont think it has age gap thing also. Yang Yang is my favorite actor. That's why I kept saying about his drama lol
Maybe you should try it yourself. Because I know you always put emphasize into people appearances then let me…
Lol I got it. I once noticed that you were on debate with other people about age gap in LLTG page. Yeah I remember it. Thanks to that conversation, I realized the actual age gap between Ling Bu Yi and Cheng Shao Shang was around 5-6 years apart.
You also complained the same thing in Pearl Eclipse when the ML is 7 years older than FL.
But actually age gap like 5-7 years apart is still considered normal. Irl, some modern people are also married to each other in around that age gap. Or even more.
The age gap that made me creepy is 10-30 years apart. It's too far. Like kdrama The World of the Married, Secret Love Affair, Show Window The Queen House, and other cheating themed kdramas.
Coming here just to promote Wu Lei other drama The Long Ballad. That drama deserve higher rating than this drama.…
I watched both TLB and LLTG
and I must say that I LOVE LLTG MORE !!!
I love ZLS and Wu Lei chemistry in this drama. But i dont feel much connection + chemistry between WL and Dilraba. I felt like they werw just friends or partner in crime.
Maybe you should try it yourself. Because I know you always put emphasize into people appearances then let me…
She was married 5 years later actually. So she was around 20-21 years old when she was married to Ling Bu Yi.
Fyi, Ling Bu Yi age was still very young. Maybe he was around early 20. Basically, he is the youngest pretigious general with highest ranking and achievement in that dynasty.
Anyway, it's not an odd tradition in ancient times. People were marrying earlier than modern days. So 15-16 years old, the parents already talked about engagement and marriage in that time.
Maybe you should try it yourself. Because I know you always put emphasize into people appearances then let me…
Maybe you should continue it to LLTG part 2. The actual romance is started there.
LLTG part 1 is more into family stuff + it got slower pace. But after we moved to LLTG part 2, it put more emphasize to main couple relationship + the romance. So even though I love LLTG as a whole, if I should choose, I love part 2 more than part 1.
Maybe you should try it yourself. Because I know you always put emphasize into people appearances then let me…
This is what I thought about this drama. I knew the ML Chen Xiao already since The Romance of Condor Heroes. And I think he is okay looking. Then I watched AvenueX videos and she was very hype about the main leads appearances. She was saying this is what pretty people should looked like etc blah blah blah.
Am I watching the same person? I admitted that Liu Yi Fei got different vibes from other beautiful actresses. She has elegant features and chinese classical beauty. It was like a beautiful lady came alive from traditional painting.
But Chen Xiao? He is not SUPER handsome for me. And I already asked one of my friend who also watched c-dramas, he said CX is average looking, not handsome. This is why people said the beauty is in the eye of beholder. Subjective matter.
So I watched this drama with "high" expectation of CX appearance because of AvenueX hype. Maybe he will be different from before. I thought. But....hmmm....no. he is still the same like before. Maybe he is more mature now. But nothing is different. I dont say he is ugly, but I think he is "okay" looking with mature n natural aura. Honestly, I really dont get what AvenueX meant.
The story? It's not quite domestic drama, but woman empowerment drama. Business, social status, politics, etc. For me, I still love "Love Like The Galaxy" more than this drama. So, if you are not into slow burn story, you wont find this drama interesting.
And I know from your track records that you put more focus to the actors appearances. So I bring my opinion to you.
Because I know you always put emphasize into people appearances then let me say...
I dont think the ML (Chen Xiao) is the type of "beautiful handsome man" like Xiao Zhan, Yang Yang, Dylan Wang, etc.
He is okay looking. Not my type actually. So i dont get it why AvenueX said both of leads are so attractive. Liu Yi Fei is indeed very beautiful. But Chen Xiao? He is okay but not super handsome like she said.
Can I ask what business does she do .. weaving or restaurant or something else?
It's not the focus actually. This drama is fully domestic drama. It's not like "Marvelous Woman" who focus in weaving business more or "A Dream of Splendor" who focus in tea shop/restaurant business more.
This drama is pretty similar to "Story of Minglan". The calm atmosphere with realistic setting + daily conversation and family stuff.
Ok here is my answer. After she failed to get the scholar title because of her female identity, she opened her business in "cleaning service" industry. She hired many abadoned people who didnt have a job to clean the garden of noble family houses.
Noble families usually have many maids and servants, but they often focus in cleaning the large houses with many pavillions. That's why some of gardens + ponds are not that fully well handled. So, she offered the noble families to use her service to clean + handle their gardens regularly. Plus, she built more connection with the nobles.
It was very useful to get connection between nobles because her husband family, Sun family was a very highly status family. Her business was also helping the Sun family to get more money. They are very big family with many members.
Then china produced again "The Return of Condor Heroes" in 2020. But it hasnt seen the light yet. Idk it will be released or be shelved forever.
All is PERFECT. Chemistry, cinematography, action scenes, story, production design, costumes, setting, and moreeeee.
I love dramatic cinematography romance dramas. And....THIS IS WHAT I WANT !!!

The only positive thing is the beautiful culture of Song Dynasty + beautiful n elegant Liu Yi Fei in costume drama.
Because I know you always put emphasize into people appearances then let me say...

Most likely MDL is USA website for asian dramas. It's all in english. Even popular forums for asian dramas like Soompi is not even korean website.
