All I can say is that there'd BETTER BE ANOTHER SEASON, because the 1st ends with a cliffhanger to end all cliff hangers. Great writing, btw. I binge-watched and was enthralled from start to finish.
Jang Nara's My Happy Ending takes on the Korean tabu of talking about one's mental health issues--and even when famous celebrities in the k-entertainment world commit suicide because they've had to remain silent, viewers of this drama, who live in other countries, just don't get it.
The summary is perfect ;DIt's just like in the novel. I wonder how they are going to translate it on to the screen…
If it was Korean they'd open with that sequence in cute animation, which would be hilarious, and then transition to live-action. But having watched about 25 historical-fantasy c-dramas by now, I think they might use some creative editing and show it in live-action. Anyway, I love the 2 leads and can't wait to watch it.
" On the way to escape from the marriage, Shen Li was beaten back to the original form of a phoenix and fell to the world with injuries. When she was seriously injured and comatose, the mortal hawker treated her as a fat chicken, plucked all the hair from her body, and locked her in a cage for sale."

Ah! Haven't seen MHE yet, but from the clips I've seen and comments I've read, the OTT plotting DEMANDS the suspension of disbelief--which isn't a problem for me, especially if it provides Nara with the opportunity to really let loose.

Last two? I agree that Family was a mess thanks to an inexperienced director who didn't know how to communicate with the equally inexperienced writer. I suspect Nara took on that project because the director's projects as executive producer were winners and because fans were clamoring for a reunion with Jang Hyuk. But if you're saying that SYHH was a bad choice, I strongly disagree. IMO, it's a masterpiece .
She's amazing for ranking second in actor's brand reputation while starring in a drama with low viewership. Given…
She's reached the point in her career where she's all about improving her acting skills by taking on roles that are not the rom-com heroine that made her a household name, but truly complex, not always likable, roles. True fans applaud her choices, admire her for her dedication to her craft, and will buy anything she's selling.
It is very different from TWOTM bcos this one focuses on FL's bipolar issue and how she tries to remember what…
MHE digs much deeper than World of the Married. And the FL in MHE isn't just "mentally unstable"--she's delusional to the point of being schizophrenic, requiring meds to function. That's WAY different.
Same thing happened to me watching Nara's The Last Empress.
I think she was originally supposed to end up with 2nd ML, but the producers kept adding extra eps. and he became unavailable so they had to kill off his character. LOL. Yeah, totally crazy but also totally addictive.
you could compare korean fans to the roman coliseum entertainement when the public had the power of life or death…
When people will believe anything that's negative about a celebrity just because the entertainment media posts it on the internet, the result is, at best, that the celebrity's career is put on hold, and at worst...I don't think I have to say it. Fortunately, Park Min-young is a strong and her fans are faithful.
People comparing it unfavorably to Alien should check out their production budgets. And if there's a contest between what Ha Ji-won had to do to make Sector 7 so watchable and what Sigourney Weaver had to do to make Alien so watchable, forget it. Ha Ji-won is the hands-down winner.
WAIT... WHAAT?!
