The bonus clips were put behind a paywall by dumb Youku. But a kind user by the name of Mooberry has posted them in the discussion section so we all got to watch it. But they're unsubbed. You can kind of get the gist though.
Yayyy!! HYX has a love interest?!! Man, i am really looking forward to her next CP.
Hehe yeah. I've been a fan of HYX since last year and because of her dramas this year, she has quickly become my favorite actress. I have seen a few dramas of Reba too and I really liked her in this year's TLB. I haven't watched too much of Allen Ren but I've heard good things about him and even Cristy Guo for that matter. So I am pumped. Let's wait and see how it unfolds. I am glad the source material is already popular and well loved.
To all the disappointed souls in here. People really get disappointed way too easily. Let me ease some emotions…
Aww you definitely injected some much needed positivity in this comment section. I honestly liked the CGI, maybe I was the only one lol. I was concerned about HYX's role switch but I guess we'll just have to wait and see. I am going to stick to my plan of watch this once both dramas finish airing and getting subbed. I am glad that she has a love interest though, I have loved all her CPs so far so I'm curious to see what kind of chemistry she is able to create with this actor who is completely new to me.

I hope so too. She has no other dramas lined up for 2022 :'( I hope she gets her deserved screen time as per the significance of her character. I really want to see her chemistry with Reba

Yes, I loved him in TLB as well. He has an amazing on screen presence. This is the third drama of HYX I'm seeing and I loved her natural acting and all the delivery of her emotional scenes. She cries so convincingly, something a lot of other actresses of her age range struggle with. She is always convincing in her roles. I laughed and cried with her in the drama. Even WRC has done an excellent job with the emotional scenes. His hit differently because the way his character is written. I love the way the two actors play off of each other's energy

Indeed, I was blown away by his performance as Lu Shi Yi. He killed it. I had only ever seen him as the villain in the Eternal love series and I liked him in that too. But I looooved him in ARRTI, the major reason why I like LSY as a character has to do with WRC playing him. The way he looks at her!!!! I'd give anything to have someone look at me like that lol. I wish he'd get more lead roles from now on. And I was always a fan of HYX as an actress but she became my favorite chinese actress because of ARRTI. I hope and pray we get to see them together again, especially in a sweet romantic drama where they have a lot of love scenes (even though I like their constant bickering too hehe.) Because they have such inasane chemistry, I find their moments more romantic than the actual romantic relationships in this drama.

Oooo the kisses are the best! They've delivered them really well, very natural (no dead fishes pressing their lips together here). The actors have kissed 4 times in total but the characters only have two kisses in the reality of the plot.

Lol i didn't even know about the episode guide feature. It must be like a candy shop to you, you have all the spoilers right there. And yes, it's pretty accurate, the skeletal version of the plot. The strength of this drama lies in the small details though. And yes, pretty much every member of the pack of friends struggles with love in their young adult age.

So basically the chinese character Tu stands for mud or soil. In literal terms it means someone who is unkempt, outdated, tasteless, etc. Datu means someone who is dowdy, unkempt, with poor taste, etc. That's the nickname Xiaoju gave him and she is the only one who calls him that lol. What's cuter is WRC mostly refers to himself as Datu, and not Lu Shi Yi, in the interviews and livestreams.

I don't compare stories, plots and such but things like chemistry between the couples or overall production quality, those differences are easily visible to me. I have also taken a break right now because the Chinese dramaland is pretty dry at the moment. Might check our Once we get married since I like ML from the Imperial Coroner. I generally don't watch contemporary dramas (hence I didn't check out YAMG but I've heard good things about it so I will most likely check it out when I have nothing better to watch) I mostly watch historical or costume dramas. ARRTI was my first youth cdrama as well.

I loved Long Ballad, never checked out YAMG (maybe some day soon) and dropped Female Student and Rebirth for you. Will check out Dear Diary for WRC if nothing else. I will say ARRTI is miles ahead of Female Student. It is just an overall better drama story, production quality, characters and acting wise. The acting and chemistry especially is stellar in ARRTI whereas in Female Student , it was just so so I guess (i dropped after the first 2 episodes). ARRTI has spoiled me in terms of chemistry between the leads. Their hugs , eye contact, piggyback rides, bicycle rides , etc. Small things like that (which don't really sound romantic per se) are shot so well, with such lovely background music, that it creates a very romantic atmosphere. So you should definitely watch out for the camera work, lighting, bgm qnd production quality too in ARRTI.

Yeah this one also falls in the category of great but not perfect. I think a lot of us were disappointed because it had the potential to be perfect. Addition of just one or two scenes, one or two real conversations would've made it perfect. The slow burn aspect is only ever successful if the big moment that it is setting up and leading up to is explosive enough. In this case, the outcome is exactly the one we all wanted, but the process of getting there could've been better. I don't find the drama draggy, myself. All the small details, all the interactions mean a lot to me. So I wouldn't trade any of them. But other people might find it draggy if the ending doesn't pay off for them. In fact, this drama was cut short from 40 episodes to 36 episodes, which might explain the rushed ending. I think 40 would've been too long, 36 is already long enough. But I really wanted more of my TuJu CP (TuJu is their ship name) I can't get enough of this couple, i still think about them. Since this is a character driven story, the characters are really good and you'll still root for them even when the writers fudge them up.

Yes, me too. The friendship aspect is amazingly handled by the drama. You'll also like the friendship between XXJ, LSY and CL towards the end, they have cute interactions and CL basically becomes their agony aunt. What KingC said is right, the ending is rushed but I still liked the romance between the leads because throughout the drama they're inseparable and they seem like they belong together. It could've been executed better, with better character development, but I'm still not (too!)salty about the end.
Hehehe it's part of the drama but it doesn't happen for real. You must've noticed till now how Xiaoju is given to daydream and fantasize, right? That's one of her dream sequence lol. That is continued throughout the drama as her characteristic feature and some of them are very funny too, especially the ones she imagines with Shiyi. I relate to that aspect because I'm always daydreaming too lol. However, in the special clip which is an epilogue and shows their married life, that scene from the beach is hung on the wall, so maybe they went back and recreated her dream for their anniversary or some such, who knows lol
Yayyy!! HYX has a love interest?!! Man, i am really looking forward to her next CP.
Oh lol okay. I hope they keep those scenes then. I am still salty over the fact that her role has been shifted from Support to Guest. I was going to watch this drama for only for HYX primarily. Fingers crossed that I'm not too disappointed
My comments have so many typos and sometimes I forget important words in my hurry to type out everything in the middle of work. I am surprised you even understand anything lol yes, cdramas have an innate love for misunderstandings. They are bearable in this drama since they're resolved quickly, except for the last one which I feel was kind of needed at that point, from shiyi's perspective.
Hence, TuJu is their couple ship name.
