Love is strong in Veil of Shadows, and I love it that the romance has been nicely executed and delivered. The plots and twists are really addicting and the actors really make their scenes very worth watching.
Jiling was Lu Wuyi's assignment, someone she should not have affection or further entanglement. But he was such a kind and warm person and brought the light into Lu Wuyi's non existent moon. To her Hui. She had already fallen for him when Xiaowei stabbed Jiling's heart. Wuyi called Jiling (being taken away by Lijie) AJi and held his doll. She saw the Dragon Deity Jiling for the first time after that, looking down at her with his cold yes. Even when the sight of her surprised him, he did not flinch nor acknowledge her presence. But Lu Wuyi could not stop her heart from caring about him, even when she considered it as her task. Heart did not lie. She could smell his scent with just being in close proximity with him. And Jiling was mesmerised by her that he let her lean on him for a moment.
It all happened in episode 7 and only in episode 23 he (and all viewers) understood why she could smell him. That brought little smile to his entire lonely and hurt being.
And some people said that Edward Guo cannot write .
The concept of Lu Wuyi hugging Ji Ling's dead body, not wanting to let him go, but then the portal opens, and she has no other choice but to leave his body out in the cold rain to go and try to save him again.
Only for it to happen again. And again. And again. "Wait for me." She says, and he's always waiting for her, in the cold rain, ready to be saved.

I am on episode 6 and loving it. Before I started this I was on episode 28 with Love Beyond the Grave. I stopped because I was not interested in it so I took a pause from it.
