Yes, the leads' struggles were too long and it's a depressing message from the drama that if you are born under bad circumstances followed by hardships in your youth you just cannot achieve your heart's desire no matter how hard you try. We are often encouraged that if we work hard with integrity we can overcome our poor beginnings and have a good life. The drama team forgot or did not care to include this inspirational message.

I'm on ep.32 but just reading the comments I already know that it's going to be an unhappy ending. I don't get the director and screenwriters, they put us through the wringer throughout the whole drama and then they gleefully put on a bad ending for us. They are sadistic! I've gone too far in the drama to give up now but I won't be enjoying the last 8 episodes. What a pity! Instead of repeating so many unnecessary flashbacks they could have filmed a happy ending. Does anyone know if there's any outcry/outrage from the viewers in China that would maybe get Youku to do a special episode to makeup for the poor ending?

Oh so you are having trouble too with kisskh, so am I. It's been 3 days already trying to watch ep27 but it keeps stalling/buffering. I tried kissasian but my malware program won't allow it so the only solution seems to be to wait for youtube which has only reached ep21 today. Anybody has any suggestion other than paying?

That line "have you ever liked me, even just a little bit?" is very poignant but in the novel it is Tantaijin who said it and would have been much more meaningful and heartbreaking because he lacks love in his whole life. The drama should not have switched it to Susu.

I can see before that I just touched the surface of the story thinking that Susu failed her mission by only stabbing TTJ with 6 soul killing nails instead of 9 and she then compensated by fashioning a divine bone marrow to accomplish the job. I guess the divine bone marrow part threw me off and I still don't see its actual purpose if it's not for extracting TTJ's evil bones. So from your very insightful explanation it looks like in the end love conquers all and supercedes the necessity of removing the evil bones since TTJ would do anything to please Susu ie. destroying the world is a no-no. LOL. Now I get it and the significance of what she found in the tomb. Thank you so much for detailing this deeper layer which adds much more enjoyment to the whole story. Wow, I totally misunderstood reading the machine translated version. You mean in the end TTJ had a kernel of goodness left in wanting to preserve the world, I thought he had completely gone psycho in that explosive inferno at the end of the xianxia. Susu visiting her tomb left me puzzled, what was the truth that she found? It's also a revelation that Susu and her daughter were in the demon world as I thought they were in the mortal one. I also enjoyed reading the book and I hope you can explain what happened towards the end in the xianxia realm when it seems like Tantaijin did manage to destroy the world and yet they were all reborn including their little girl. I find this confusing as I thought that the monstrosity about the destruction of the world is that nobody would exist anymore but if rebirth is still possible then what's the big deal about killing TTJ?

Oh my! You got it so wrong! You only read the first chapter and used it to summarize the whole novel thus leading people astray. Good thing I read the book because if I had only read your synopsis I would not be interested in watching the drama at all and I would have missed an excellent story.

No, if the drama follows the novel. I think for the first third of the novel she's an independent woman and would rather not have anything to do with ML but he needed her.
