netflix is slow in uploading episodes so I download them from mkvdrama..
im going to wait for all the eps before i binge (hopefully i can resist the temptation to watch), if I want to follow i would usually just stream from kisskh
im on netflix, so im only up to ep10 so far, but this is already a contender for the best cdrama this year. nice to see that everyone in the comments are enjoying it too š
As someone who dislikes the school delinquent (or bullying) trope due to how pointless and hollow the subject is, this was surprisingly very well-executed and entertainingly fun. A great adaptation.
You know those 5ā10 minute short films or skits that you wish could be turned into a full series? This drama felt like one of them, fully brought to life. I really liked the cinematography and direction of the drama (EP3 ending scene was creative and memorable for me).
Give it a try, first 3 episodes were perfect for me and if you donāt really like it by then, this is probably not for you.
Wow Ep 9: Na-u conducting + Sohyangās (ėź°ź±°ė + ė ķ“ģ Lacrimosa) was such a legendary performance. And Jong Ho from ATEEZ has a very nice singing voice too; reminds me of one of those seasoned ballad singers.
I love how people were complaining earlier about JDMās sheepy, follower-like teammates, but look at what happened…
Ikr!! Seongbeomās laughter was so out of character that it was freaky, the tension and stress there must have really piled up on him.
As for the girls, I mean in this case MJ volunteered herself and picked Hyeseon, while JDM chose Minaāapart from his mentioned reason, it was the best choice if he wanted MJ to survive in the deathmatch (since the remaining 3 were Xitsuh/Acau/Seongbeom). So it was kinda of an it is what it is situation instead of a gender thing (from my perspective).
dk what viewing lens some of you guys have, but obviously we want the most competent and skilled players to go…
I love how people were complaining earlier about JDMās sheepy, follower-like teammates, but look at what happened nowāheās the only one on the opposite team in that devil team of 4, but heās still single-handedly carrying their asses. Meanwhile, Steve (who thinks heās good at Mafia games but is actually terrible at them) did nothing, while Eonkyu uselessly trolled the game (what is bro thinking fr).
Steve got lucky that he got saved once againā¦
Xitsuh played well, but JDM angle of approach and words were just too convincing and logical so I donāt blame him tbh.
And what was that boring ahh deathmatch game? Felt like they were just mindlessly building their own areas on the fly with no clear strategy in mind.
dk what viewing lens some of you guys have, but obviously we want the most competent and skilled players to go far in such brainy survival game show. you might not like JDM, but you canāt deny hes the strongest player this season by far and for me it wasnāt as annoying since he has the skills to back it up, and he proves it so every time unlike people like steve and eonkyu, who blunders here and there/do poorly in contrast to their high-horse tone. afterall, thereās a fine line between confidence and arrogance and itās separated by their results/performance.
Ep10: super individualist yurisa playing as a team? the world must be ending... jokes aside, itās really nice to watch her play when sheās motivated, girl is really only willing to play with people she acknowledges intellectually eh. also, she wasnāt lying about the altar mentioned earlier on too
yeah agreed! I usually skip a lot, but I didn't for eps 9. Something always happened each rounds, they think all…
Will have to see if Seong Beom will keep the teams exactly the same or not first since heās the winner. Iām sure MJ had some input during their discussion but it probably didnāt air since it wasnāt that significant/or of a gamechanger degree, and from that Iād also guess that she probably wouldnāt make a deep run? Since sheās basically given zero screentime lol, we shall see.
Ep 9 was so good. I really hope this will bring out the competitiveness thatās slumbering (kinda) in Jinho and he will take on a more proactive role. Jang Dongmin has been going all-out since he respect, and are aware of Jinhoās capabilities after being friends with him for so many years. Some people will probably hate on Yurisaās play after this, but honestly itās very fitting with her character in bloody game so far, so I wasnāt that surprised by the ādamageā, even as a huge fan of Jinho who is cheering for him too. I really liked that Jinho accepted the result (with grace imo), even though heās still mad which is perfectly understandable. He understands that āthatā is part of the play and essence of the survival game itself, so he doesnāt whine like some others would. Still Iām looking forward to his revenge or counterattack in the subsequent games. The cast gets along fine in irl if you watch their episode reviews so I hope people will not take the context out of the game itself too seriously. Iām actually happy that Hyunseo got dropped but Pani Bottle was like a honest comic relief character who is fun to keep around and have playmaking potential, but I agree that skill takes precedence in such a show so, oh well. JDM as always, a MONSTER RAHHHHH.
jang dongmin has said himself before that he has a personality where he must see things through to the endāalmost to an obsessive degree, which I think is one of his most admirable qualities as you can always tell the effort and depth of thinking he puts in each time. I think this heavily translates to his playstyle as wellāhe almost always takes into account every element or factor that can give him or his team an edge, whether psychological or not. Just like what jinho mentioned in Ep 1, he definitely steeled himself this time around, pulling every means to secure victory (which imo is the essence of bloody game). Bloody victory, ugly victoryāwhatever it takes, as long as itās a win. However, because of this perfectionist-like tendency, his playstyle can feel suffocating, almost like a control freak, which can easily rub people the wrong way (I wouldnāt be surprised if it backfires too during the later stage). I also like hyeseon, but the injustice she suffered from jang dongminās end is tbh fair play from the perspective of the "bloody" aspect of the game. Iām somehow more put off by steve yea and the lawyer hyunseo dude because of their stuck-up and condescending(?) demeanor. Maybe it might just be a subconscious defense mechanism they adopt when faced with stronger players, making them present themselves more aloof than they usually are in order to keep others in check (like how jinho seems to be more reserved and takes a backseat this time, if you know what I mean). But I just donāt vibe with the energy those two give off, though Iām glad steve finally showed some worth (albeit still not enough) to justify his No.1 Korean Poker Player title.
As for Ginaās case, everyone on the team is obviously at fault here. Yurisa is right that everyone was just trying to self-justify in their own way to avoid going to the deathmatch. While I agree that itās baffling how tf Gina could make such a simple calculation error (95-36) even after checking multiple times, the rest should have reviewed the work at least once, no matter how inept they claim their arithmetic are. Itās basic team responsibility, and itās absolutely careless and selfish for the rest to take such a fully hands-off approach and just push the blame to her. Idk why Xitsuh was so careless this time either, choosing to just trust others to check while he ran off to search instead (did he not check once too?). And how much funds do each of them have? Did Xitsuh my bro bought an extra vote as a safety net just incase Gina buys votes? Like bro do you have to š
oh well, enough of the team plays, time for the individual games to filter out the true gold from the dirt.
Edit: oops I might have yapped a little too much lol, but I forgot to mention that thereās a reason why jinho is always a fan favourite in survival shows. He consistently shows a balanced, humane, and logical side with class. If he werenāt there, I doubt the two egoistical steve and hyunseo would take the initiative to sit down and have a proper conversation with hyeseon lol.
It was broadcasting in real-time in korea when it was interrupted halfway by the martial law news, so it was suspended. As far as I know they planned to start again on the 10th, but I canāt be 100% sure.
