I remember that, but I'm saying she's a bad mother because from what we've seen, not once did she check up on him or his well being secretly like his father did, which she very well could have. Additionally, the conversation she had about him with her other son. She's not a good mother to YQ.
Slightly annoyed that they changed MY being forced to marry that other prince to her trying to force YQ to marry her. And even after kneeling, his father was still going to force him to marry her. It's only because the ex-brother-in-law showed up, that she couldn't go through with the marriage. Which is annoying af tbh. I'm getting this based on all the clips of this on Chinese douyin. But at least she will still die and JS/YQ will be happily married.

I'm sorry. It's not that I hate the show, I don't. I would have dropped it or stopped watching, but the emperor's insane love for the eldest princess is driving me nuts. Which is why I keep ranting. The forced marriage thing would be more bearable if he wasn't just doing that to the son he abandoned to please his sister.
If there was an actual logical reason, I could somewhat understand, but there isn't. It's not like this is an arranged marriage to help with war or peace with a foreign country, it's just to please that ridiculous sister of his. To top it off, she's done so much harmful scheming that has hurt his children yet he doesn't even suspect her of doing anything bad, etc., and it upsets me.
In the book/manhwa, I think the main Villain was empress dowager or the adopted mother of Emperor not the Grand…
The show really isn't following the book that much anymore though...the Empress Dowager was the villain but if she is really the big bad, they should have already showed her character by now. Especially bc every time the grand princess or her child did something wrong, they'd run to her. Idk, I'm hoping I'm wrong but...who knows, only time will tell.

The daughter has decided she likes YQ and is trying to get with YQ to one up JS and get "revenge" for her mother. The mother, wants her daughter to have her title restored via marriage to YQ.

She never had that much audacity in the book especially because she was only an adopted daughter but I think for the show/drama, they changed it. Which is fine, but when will he put her in her place? Now that you point that out...sigh...After everything the two of them have done? They don't deserve a happy ending but tbh, it's been awhile since I watched a cdrama where the bad guy got a fitting ending. They normally let them die super peacefully or have some tragic sympathy story and it's a bit annoying. But like you said, I'm liking the drama still as well.
