Now that we have seen the previews for the next episodes, I still can't help but wonder why CSS's mother slaps her and why the family looks at her in disappointment. I feel like this will probably occur closer to when the Queen has some issues...maybe after the 5-year gap. I am also wondering why the 3rd prince and LBY's relationship will be revealed to the audience. So far we haven't seen them interact much and their friendship is actually something I'm looking forward to seeing in this drama.

Something I thought was worth mentioning, Consort Yue doesn't have the kind of power she has just because the emperor loves her. While that is a part of it, it also has to do with the fact that they have spent a lot more time together than the Queen has with the emperor. So Consort Yue can bring up things that happened in the past to defend a current situation whereas the Queen cannot. For instance, in the situation with the older princess where the emperor almost died, I don't think the Queen was there when that happened. While she may know the details she can't bring up things she wasn't present for. Also, as the Queen said earlier, she had a rough childhood just like CSS and while she might want to defend herself, her weakness is her family so it's hard for her to say anything.

So far I really like the Empress, Emperor, and Consort Yue. This is the first drama like this where I have seen characters like them all be kind-hearted.... as for their children...it's unfortunate that their daughters did not pick up this trait.

I think in the episode that showed the trailer for the Queen's birthday, the 5th princess is going to try to ruin the birthday celebration but I'm not sure how. I don't know if they will stick to the book route or if they will just do the drowning thing.

I have so many thoughts...
I'll start with the newest episodes:
I was laughing most of the time. LBY training the family, the grandma threatening them, CSS escaping, the drunk scene, CSS answering the questions about how to be a good wife to LBY. I was smiling most of the time. Also, him saying he can't let her go and being able to clearly read her personality. I know that LBY is toxic in ways but I can't help but love him and CSS together. I am so happy that this drama came out this year.

Things I am curious about:
I am still wondering why CSS's mom slaps her... It wouldn't make sense for her to slap her when she's engaged to YS because in the book I don't remember that happening and she was super reluctant to marry him. I know some things in the drama are subject to change but based on what we've seen so far I just can't wrap my head around why her mom would slap her. Does anyone have any ideas?

Omggg guys...she finally calls him by his given name and he calls her by her nickname I am so excited!! Also, it seems like they changed who the main bad princess is. It seems to be third princess instead of 5th princess from the previews. Also, just to clarify, is that their wedding banquet/engagement banquet?? I am slightly confused.

That was not why she was mad. She doesn't only like people who listen to her. She just doesn't want to spend the rest of her life being forced to live by someone else rules and only living to please them. Right now she doesn't understand that LBY won't force her to live like that especially when she's seen how everyone does whatever he wants.

I am really glad that LBY and CSS relationship is currently the way it is. My reason for this is because I'm honestly tired of watching cdramas where the leads immediately like each other because of some love at first sight stuff when they literally know nothing about each other. Also, it's refreshing to see CSS still be able to speak her mind to him despite the fact that with his authority she should be afraid of him. Idk if what I am typing makes sense but hopefully it's getting across.

Also, CSS's mom doesn't have very good listening skills because even after all the questions they both asked CSS, she still thinks that CSS is only marrying LBY to go against her when in reality she agreed to marry him to save the family. If she had said no and LBY's heart seemed to break, what does she think the emperor would do to their family?

Third, I hope a friendship develops between CSS and HZ. I want her to have another friend besides WQ and I actually like HZ.

Lastly, I still don't like YS and I'm glad LBY sees through his BS.

I really need someone to put YS in his place. I’m so tired. I literally hate him. Also I’m so glad LBY told CSS’s mom not to interrupt him. I really hope he continues to stand his ground against her nonsense.

….CSS is literally this way because if she wasn’t she would have died. Her 3rd aunt has tried to starve her to death several times and the only reason it didn’t work was because of Yangyang. Her mother literally abandoned her without a second thought and when she came back after 15 years she didn’t even both to try to teach her daughter proper etiquette. CSS behavior at times is bad but her mother is without a doubt a bad mother. She’s upset because CSS behavior is a direct reflection of her parenting skills which are shameful. I agree that LBY handled things incorrectly but her mother isn’t a saint. Also YS is a horrible person. Someone who would spread nasty rumors about you just to force you to marry them isn’t a good person. Honestly if we are being honest all three love interest probably aren’t the best for CSS and it would have been better if CSS’s third aunt was allowed to raise her instead.

It triggered me so much. My mom has never said anything like that. She’s sweet. But my dad on the other hand…I’ve had several experiences like CSS’s with him. So watching that made me soo mad.

I get where you are coming from, but CSS mom criticized her in such a harsh way in public allows others to say and do whatever they want to her because they are under the impression that no matter what happens her own mother won’t care/finds her worthless. To me that’s more damaging than her marrying into LBY’s family.

CSS mom is literally…. She’s not a good mother. Lmao I knew I’d change my mind again. She always disappoints me. Like you really did all that in front of all those people. Is she okay in her head? You know they don’t like her.

I want to watch the new episodes but I’m literally so scared 😂 I can’t bare to watch CSS be bullied.

Yeah but in the novel she was never in love with him. She only got with him to fulfill the queen’s wishes.

I’m more so talking about the things she saw on her trip with her aunt and uncle. But I see your point.
